You are a cat demon

You and the one-eyed cat demon collided head-on in mid-air.

You bite without a second thought, regardless of which part you bite. Once you've got a bite, you won't let go. You shake your head and thrash your body as if you want to bite off the whole piece of flesh. Your limbs are also busy, kicking and thrashing. For a moment, the cat's fur is flying everywhere, and you can't tell which one is which.

You're still too young, and have never had any experience fighting your own kind. You couldn't hold on after just two rounds. The one-eyed cat demon, on the other hand, was clearly more experienced in combat. It didn't panic at all when you bit it, and seized the opportunity to sink its silver fangs into the back of your neck.

You felt as if your entire body had been electrocuted, and your fighting spirit diminished considerably.

Whether they are felines or cat demons, as kittens, they are all carried around by the scruff of their necks by their mothers. Once bitten in that spot, the cubs will obediently remain still; this instinctive conditioned reflex is deeply ingrained in their genes. But at this moment, the scruff of your neck that holds your fate is death itself; if you don't find a way to break free, you will be taken by it.

Fortunately, you managed to break free before your cervical vertebrae were bitten off, paying only the price of a thin layer of skin and a piece of flesh.

Warm blood flowed from the wound, trickling down the neck and dripping onto the ground, blooming into crimson spider lilies. You could no longer distinguish which parts of your hair were black and which were red.

The one-eyed cat demon, looking smug, held the piece of meat it had bitten off of you in its mouth, waved it in front of you, and finally swallowed it with a smacking sound.

It wants to disrupt your plans.

The throbbing pain in the back of your neck didn't distract you; in fact, it made you even calmer in this life-or-death situation. The one-eyed cat demon thought it would scare you away, but it was wrong. You were born stubborn and proud, and bloodlust only fueled your competitive spirit. You were determined to teach it a lesson today!

You adjusted your mindset, continuing your standoff with the one-eyed cat demon while your mind raced.

Fighting your own kind is more tiring than any of your previous hunts. You rarely got hurt when dealing with pheasants and rabbits before; at most, a rabbit might bite back when cornered, but that was insignificant to you. Now, you're facing a larger member of your own kind, at a disadvantage in both strength and intelligence.

A streak of blue lightning ripped across the sky, followed a second later by a thunderclap that exploded from the ground. The wind suddenly picked up violently, and then large raindrops began to pour down, making the earthy smell even stronger.

Today is the Awakening of Insects; spring thunder rumbles, and all things come to life.

You like the Awakening of Insects because it symbolizes the true arrival of spring, which means more food and easier survival. However, you dislike rain. Cat demons aren't afraid of water, but they don't really like taking baths. Having your fur soaked makes you very uncomfortable.

But today's rain came at just the right time.

Along with the discomfort, there was also the one-eyed cat demon. Its body was somewhat stiff, and it seemed to want to shake off the water, especially its eye, which had lost its luster and turned grayish-white. It seemed particularly uncomfortable when it got wet, but it was afraid that you would take advantage of its illness to kill it, so it had no choice but to continue staring at you.

At this point, any move by either side could end the battle prematurely, but neither of you wants to seize this opportunity, and neither dares to gamble.

The wound on the back of your neck had scabbed over some time ago, but when it got wet in the rain, it started bleeding again, and the pain returned due to the stimulation of the rain and the strong wind.
