One-Punch Man: Boros, the Universe Overlord

Chapter 58: Even cheating won't help.

"Give up? Shouldn't you stop your weirdo games and hunting farces? Give the adults a break, kid!"

"You're saying... I'm a farce? A game?"

The hungry wolf lowered his head, like a weathered, dilapidated sculpture, motionless. His disheveled hair fell haphazardly, completely obscuring his eyes, making it impossible to see what twisted expression lurked beneath the shadows.

He was silent for a moment, as if he were struggling to suppress the magma about to erupt from within him. Then, a low, broken laugh was squeezed out with difficulty from deep in his throat.

The voice was hoarse, like a rusty iron plate being rubbed hard, each syllable carrying a chilling oppression and coldness, as if a demon crawling out of the abyss of hell was whispering.

"hehe……

He slowly raised his head, his sharp eyes now bloodshot beneath his disheveled hair, his pupils trembling violently, reflecting Boros's indifferent figure.

"You so-called heroes..."

He clenched his teeth, blood seeping from between them mixed with saliva and dripped onto the gravel at his feet. His voice was hoarse, filled with endless resentment.

"Always so high and mighty, standing on the moral high ground, judging everything with that hypocritical face. Whatever you say goes, and the rules you set are the truth? By what right? Huh? By what right?"

He suddenly straightened his back, which was almost crushed by humiliation, his chest heaving violently, breathing rapidly, as if to release all the pent-up resentment and unwillingness into this roar. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he let out a shrill, strange laugh, a laugh tinged with paranoia.

"Hahaha—! I refuse to accept this!"

The voice suddenly rose, carrying a hysterical question.

"You think you can easily win and be revered by thousands just by standing in that false light and putting on a righteous face?! I've given my all, even tearing my own soul apart and trampling on my dignity to pursue power, only to be forever a stepping stone under your feet? Just a game in your mouths?"

"This absurd script... I've had enough! I refuse to accept this—!"

"Since this damned fist technique can't beat you, then I'll tear these ridiculous rules to shreds with my own hands! Martial arts, rules, to hell with them all! I'm a monster! A calamity that transcends human common sense!!!"

"Let this body sink into the abyss! I will use power greater than anything, speed faster than anything else, to utterly destroy your proud martial arts. In this cruel world where the strong prey on the weak, only absolute evil is the only truth! Ahhh!"

With that frantic roar to the sky, Garou, the true protagonist, suddenly unleashed his full power!

A terrifying aura suddenly erupted from his body, so violent that it blew away all the rubble on the ground. His originally dark pupils instantly became bloodshot, veins spreading like a spider web, ultimately transforming into a strange, bright red vertical pupil, radiating overwhelming killing intent.

His full head of silver hair danced wildly in the raging air currents, the color of his hair seemingly ignited by flames, gradually deepening until it transformed into a full head of red hair burning like hellfire, each strand seemingly pulsating with an aura of destruction. His entire aura underwent a dramatic transformation at that moment.

His scarlet eyes were fixed on Boros's figure.

"Let me use absolute evil..."

A deep rumble rolled from the depths of his throat, and his mouth stretched to the sides, forcing out a ferocious and twisted smile.

"I will utterly shatter your self-righteous sense of justice!"

"Has it evolved? Its aura has become even more violent, but the source of this power is nothing more than your twisted obsession."

Boros spoke coldly, his eyes devoid of any emotion:

"Kid, even if you transform into the Divine Starry Sky Wolf today, I will still suppress you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Boros's aura became even more restrained, revealing a calm demeanor. He slowly raised his arms, his movements unhurried, as if he were directing the rhythm of heaven and earth. In that seemingly slow trajectory, a visible vortex was formed out of thin air in front of him, the airflow brought about by the extreme circulation of his internal energy.

"Water Flow Rock Smashing Fist!"

He slowly uttered a few words, declaring that he would use this ancient fighting technique to confront the violent force that was about to crash into him.

The red-haired wolf, with bloodshot eyes, roared as he charged toward Boros like a meteorite burning with flames. Wherever he passed, the ground cracked, determined to destroy the man before him and his martial arts with his absolute power and speed.

The two figures collided instantly. Red-haired Wolf's fists turned into countless afterimages, each strike carrying terrifying kinetic energy capable of shattering rocks. His offensive was like a raging storm, with the air filled with the shrill whistles of sonic booms and the roar of surging air waves.

However, as time went on, the situation gradually developed into a strange balance. No matter how hard the hungry wolf tried to unleash the violent power within him, attempting to suppress his opponent with greater speed and destructive force, Boros always managed to neutralize his attacks.

"Bang!"

With a dull thud, the wolf's all-out straight punch was easily dodged by Boros, who then delivered a powerful backhand chop to the wolf's shoulder blade.

The immense recoil sent the red-haired wolf flying backward again, crashing heavily into a broken tree in the distance. The ancient tree instantly disintegrated upon impact, turning into a shower of wood chips and dust that completely engulfed the wolf's figure.

A moment later, the red-haired wolf struggled to his feet again, his tight-fitting clothes already soaked with sweat and blood.

He reached out a trembling hand and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. The frenzied killing intent that had filled his eyes with lust and beast-like rage was now slowly receding, replaced by disbelief.

"Something's not right...something's really not right..."

The hungry wolf knelt on one knee in the pile of rubble, his hands gripping the ground tightly, his fingernails breaking and bleeding profusely, yet he was completely unaware.

He abruptly raised his head, his vertical pupils trembling violently, staring intently at the still composed figure in the distance. His chest heaved violently, his voice hoarse and filled with a deep-seated bewilderment.

"I've already evolved to this level... I've pushed this body to its limits! Speed, strength, everything should be at its peak... Why? Why can you still keep up with my pace? How is this possible?!"

Overwhelmed by this feeling of absolute suppression, the hungry wolf suddenly raised its head and let out an angry roar towards the sky:

"This is unreasonable! This world is completely unreasonable, isn't it?! Does a so-called hero have to be stronger than a weirdo? I've given it my all, and I'm still a joke in front of you?!"

"I got stronger, and you inexplicably got stronger too? This illogical crushing... this arbitrary manipulation, what kind of martial arts is this?! What kind of truth is this?! What the hell is this logic?!"

Boros looked at the blood-soaked, howling wolf before him and thought helplessly:

"Sigh, like a rebellious teenager, stubbornly trying to fight against what he perceives as injustice with his own strength. Talking about absolute evil and wanting to destroy the world, but he never actually killed a single person from beginning to end."

Even Boros found himself in a difficult situation when faced with such a troublesome "problem child".

"I can't really kill him, sigh. Most problem kids will behave after a beating. But this kid seems to get more and more aggressive the more I beat him... He definitely won't listen to reason with me. What should I do? This is such a headache..."

A well-behaved figure involuntarily appeared in his mind:

"My Genos is the best. Even though he can't beat anyone and all he ever does is say 'I was careless,' he's really easy to take care of..."

Boros was racking his brains trying to figure out how to deal with him, while on the other side, the hungry wolf was starting to show new signs of change!

"You are all steps, steps on my path to absolute evil, and I must step over you one by one..."

At this moment, Hungry Wolf began muttering to himself again, his body radiating an explosive aura that grew even more violent, as if it would tear apart the surrounding space. Deep red energy patterns faintly appeared on the surface of his body.

"Holy crap? What's this? Another breakthrough?"

"They unleash their full power at the slightest provocation! They break through their limits when they can't win! That's ridiculous..."

"You've clearly reached your limit... You're the unreasonable one, aren't you? You're not even pretending anymore, you just went straight for it, huh?"

"However, meeting me is like running into a max-level boss right after leaving the beginner's village... even cheating won't help!"

"...Never mind, let's take you back first..."

With that thought in mind, Boros vanished without hesitation, appearing beside the hungry wolf in the next instant. With a precise palm strike, he cleanly and decisively cleaved the wolf's neck, severing his consciousness instantly, and letting the burning flames dissipate rapidly as their master fainted.

"Chalanke, I won't see you off anymore. Go home by yourself. I'll take this kid back first."

Boros, carrying the unconscious wolf in one hand, said to the dumbfounded Chalanco...

"Okay...okay, senior brother."

Chalan Ke snapped out of his daze and quickly bowed. Then, his eyes swept over the hungry wolf, and with a hint of hesitation, he asked:

"So... is Senior Brother going to send him to the Hero Association?"

"I haven't decided yet. Let's take it home first." Boros shook his head, looking quite troubled.

"Understood, Senior Brother."

Seeing this, Chalan didn't ask any more questions. He turned around and pointed to the group of seriously injured and unconscious heroes behind him:

"I'll wait for the ambulance to take these frightened people back and settle them in properly before I go home.

"Okay, be careful on your way. I'm off now."

Boros said no more. The air surged beneath his feet, and he soared into the air, carrying the hungry wolf as he transformed into a streak of light and disappeared into the horizon.
