Greece: I am the master of destiny!

Chapter 50 God, the Day of Creation

In the Land of Eternal Night, chaotic order was unleashed, just as it was at the beginning of creation, where even time lost its meaning.

Nyx looked at the chaotic world before him, his brows furrowing in the darkness.

"What are you doing?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her eyes.

"I will keep my promise," Prometheus said.

Nyx frowned even more deeply. Prometheus's promise naturally referred to the promise that she would possess the underworld, but the underworld had not yet been created, because the concepts of "death" and "soul" did not yet exist in the world.

Seeing the goddess of eternal night looking puzzled, Prometheus smiled and explained:

"The underworld can be created."

After saying this, He took out the Bottle of Life and experienced the eternal silence of this place.

This is a characteristic that Prometheus deliberately preserved.

In His view, the end is not the opposite of existence, but a part of existence.

The ultimate fate of all things is not nothingness, but rest.

As long as this destination is under His control, the underworld has its meaning.

He called this world the "underworld".

There was neither dawn nor dusk; this was the first day.

……

In the newly born realm, the deeper one goes, the purer the stillness becomes.

The shallower the area, the more dominant the echoes from the living world become.

But in the very core, a glimmer of light remains, a path reserved for souls yet to arrive, and the future throne of the underworld.

In this newly born underworld, the foundation of the world is composed of eternal darkness, which merges with the source matter in the Life Bottle, and an existence that is neither living nor dead flows out from it.

Prometheus used this existence to constitute the "bottom" and the "river".

That was the original foundation of the underworld, but Prometheus needed some kind of boundary to separate them from the realm of the living.

"The waters of the Styx shall encircle this land, separating the realms of life and death," He declared.

So Styx was immediately summoned and came from the ocean, to the land of rest surrounded by the River Styx.

Rivers are both barriers and passageways; the living cannot cross them, and the dead cannot turn back.

He called this river the River Styx.

There was neither dawn nor dusk; this was the second day.

……

With borders and a river for crossing, the underworld still needs a place for judgment.

Thus, Prometheus's will traveled to the very center of the underworld, which was also the center of this realm.

"Three palaces shall be erected in the underworld, so that the souls of the dead may each find their proper place," He proclaimed.

And so the palace rose from the silence.

He calls the place of the good “the Land of Bliss,” the place of the wicked “the Land of Punishment,” and the place of those who wander endlessly “the Plain of the Other Shore.”

"The throne of judgment shall be set at the crossroads of the three paths, and all who enter this land shall first be weighed."

And so, the court built of black stone rose at the confluence of the three paths.

The thoughts of the departed souls will be placed on the scales of justice, with nothing to hide and nothing to conceal.

There was neither dawn nor dusk; this was the third day.

……

With the palace built, the laws were initially established.

Through the Bottle of Life, Prometheus created the first generation of spirits, starting with the purest souls of the dead.

The commotion here was already quite significant, and it was very likely that the gods had already become aware of it.

But His actions did not stop, for in this realm where time was frozen, He could extend a moment into eternity.

The will of Prometheus gazes upon the empty dome.

The underworld needs neither sun nor moon, but it needs a symbol that governs the laws of life and death.

There is more than one waning moon.

He declared: "In the firmament of the underworld, a symbol of authority shall be set up; this month shall bear witness to judgment, determine the punishment for good and evil, and guide the souls of the departed."

So He created a black moon, whose light shines not on the living, but only on the dead.

He hung this dark moon in the sky above the underworld, illuminating the temples of the three evil paths, governing the retribution for good and evil, and dividing eternal punishment and rest.

There was neither dawn nor dusk; this was the fourth day.

……

With the symbol of authority now hanging high, Prometheus breathed a soft sigh of relief.

There is no resting place in the upper realm yet, but the end of all things is already brewing like an undercurrent.

He retrieved from His own hidden memories things that no living being had ever remembered—

Lost whispers, unfulfilled wishes, silent love.

He poured the essence from the Vase of Life onto it.

"This land will receive the echoes of the departed; those who have not found rest will find their way home in the River Styx," He declared.

So He created messengers to guide the souls of the dead, each with their own role; and He also created dogs with three heads and six eyes to guard the entrance to the underworld.

He gave a decree: Messengers shall not enter the realm of the living, nor shall any living person cross the River Styx.

Death is the only credential that allows passage here.

There was neither dawn nor dusk; this was the fifth day.

……

The initial order of guidance has been established; what follows is the most difficult part of this world.

Prometheus once wanted to establish a unified destiny for all the dead.

But this is beyond His power, because in the “destiny” of all things, not all existence returns to rest—

Some will dissipate, some will reincarnate, and some will perish completely.

Therefore, He abandoned this idea and, with the help of Nyx's power of night, created the messengers of the underworld.

He proclaimed: "The underworld shall produce protectors, each according to their duty; those who hold the sickle, those who hold the scroll, and those who guard the gate, each according to their duty!"

So He created the messengers of rest with sickles, each in their own role; the scribes of judgment with scrolls, each in their own role; and the watchmen of the end times who wait in the deepest part of the underworld, each in their own role.

He said, "I will shape them according to my will, in the image of Hecate; that they may preside over the rituals of death, guard the boundary between life and death, and guide all things to their end!"

So He created a goddess in Hecate's original image.

Hecate, born at the moment of her birth in the underworld—the torchbearer who guides the way, the key-wielding lady who holds the key, and the scythe-wielding judge of fate.

He bestowed upon them an eternal duty and undying power to guard the order of the underworld forever, and renamed them Hecate the Ferryman.

There was neither dawn nor dusk; it was the sixth day.

……

Death and rebirth are the foundation of the cycle of all things, and the realm of the dead has taken firm root beneath the realm of the living.

From then on, the power to end all things in the world was held by the ruler of the underworld.

The expressions on Nyx and Hecate's faces were beyond shock; they stared at the white figure that seemed to be creating the world, wanting to say something but unable to utter a word.

On the sacred mountain, Cronus, who had just become the king of gods, hadn't even had time to celebrate when he felt the roar of the laws, and his expression changed drastically.

Without the slightest hesitation, He led the gods, who were still celebrating together, directly towards that newborn world.

Prometheus also faced the last day of creation.

He took away the offices of "Secret" and "Realm" from Nyx's life, sinking these two divine offices into the origin of the underworld, and the Law of Rest instantly became one with them.

Thus, the boundaries and secrets of the Chaos world were redefined—

Death is no longer the precipice of the end, but a threshold of another stage of existence.

From this day forward, the veil between life and death will be guarded by the will of the underworld.

Where fate ends, it leads to rest.

Where fate has not yet ended, there are always secrets left behind.

It has no beginning and no end; this is the seventh day.

God created the world in seven days.

At this moment, Nyx and Hecate were completely stunned, looking at the man who had created this world with his own hands with extremely complicated expressions.

Prometheus, however, did not see anything wrong with this. He simply looked at the lifeless world before him and said thoughtfully, "It seems like something is missing."

"What's missing?" Nyx asked.

"A glimmer of hope amidst death," Prometheus said with a smile. "But it doesn't matter, someone has already delivered it."

Before the words had even finished, from outside this newly born world, Cronus's angry voice rang out:

"Prometheus, what are you doing?!"
