Chapter 30 The Battle with Homelander

When Homelander saw that he was bleeding, his eyes lit up.

Just then, Su Mo braced himself on the ground with both hands, hooked his right leg, and hooked the back of his foot around the homelander's calf, pulling him sharply.

Homelander lost his balance and fell forward. Taking advantage of the momentum, Su Mo sprang up from the ground, braced his right shoulder against Homelander's chest, and with a powerful kick, sent Homelander flying.

The man from the motherland did a half-turn in the air and then hovered steadily.

"Ha, so they still have the ability to resist."

A smile played on his lips, but it no longer held the same ease as before.

Su Mo did not reply.

He quickly took off, his legs pushing off the air, and he shot towards the people of the motherland like a cannonball.

The two collided in mid-air and began exchanging blows.

The dull thud of fists hitting fists, the thud of knees striking arms, filled the night sky like a drumbeat.

The sound wasn't loud, but it was deep and muffled.

The two fought so fast that they left only a few blurry shadows under the streetlights, like two wisps of smoke intertwined.

boom.

Su Mo's left arm blocked the Homelander's right straight punch.

Suddenly, Su Mo twisted his wrist and gripped Homelander's right wrist. His fingers tightened like iron clamps, and Homelander's wrist bones cracked in his palm.

Homelander tried to pull his hand away, but couldn't manage it. He immediately swung his left hand to try and pry Su Mo's hand off. Su Mo's other hand met the attack and precisely grabbed Homelander's left wrist.

Now, the motherland's hands are locked, and the door is wide open.

Su Mo pulled his right leg back, bent his knee, clenched his thigh muscles, and then suddenly sprang forward.

A knee strike landed squarely on the homelander's groin.

The force of that blow was so great that Su Mo's knees went numb from the impact.

The man's face contorted in that instant, his mouth opened, his eyes bulged, and a mournful wail, unlike any human voice, escaped his throat.

The man's body was bent into the shape of a shrimp in Su Mo's hands, but his mind did not stop.

In his pain, he used the force of being thrown back to propel himself upwards, freeing his hands from Su Mo's grasp.

He flew higher into the air, creating distance between himself and the crowd, panting heavily, veins bulging on his forehead, and a painful expression still lingering on his face.

Just as Su Mo was about to give chase, before he could even kick out, that familiar feeling of weakness surged up from within him again.

The virus wasn't completely eradicated; it suddenly flared up when he was working at full capacity, as if someone had yanked him from behind.

His body swayed in the air, lost his balance, and staggered downwards.

His feet touched the ground first, but his legs were weak, his knees bent, and he had to squat down to regain his balance.

His weight smashed a hole in the asphalt road beneath his feet, and the crack spread outwards from the edge of the hole.

The people of the motherland spotted Su Mo's weakness from high in the air.

His eyes lit up, a red light focusing within them, the red in his eye sockets more intense than ever before.

Two beams of heat shot out from his eyes, thicker, brighter, and hotter than before. Wherever the beams passed, they created a visible, distorted trajectory.

Su Mo was feeling dizzy and lightheaded. The virus in his body and the strenuous exercise he had just undergone had caused his brain to be unable to keep up with the blood flow.

But he heard the sound of heat rays being emitted, and his eyes also lit up with a red light.

Two beams of heat shot out from Su Mo's eyes and collided head-on with the beam of light from the Homelander.

The four red lights met and collided in the air.

The two energies pressed against each other at the point of contact, forming a dazzling spot of light.

The light from that orb illuminated the entire street as if it were daytime. The air was filled with the smell of ozone, and some indescribable acrid smell.

Su Mo gritted her teeth.

His heat rays receded little by little in front of the beam of light from his homeland, and were pushed back.

Su Mo could feel the energy in her eyes being rapidly depleted, leaving her feeling somewhat powerless.

The Homelander's face was contorted with madness, his mouth agape and his eyes wide.

In the air, two rays of heat met, producing a hissing sound. The sound was sharp and dense.

The red-gold beams of light squeezed against each other at the point between the two, splashing energy and distorting the surrounding air.

But the rays from the Homelander were slowly moving toward Su Mo.

Inch by inch.

Su Mo could feel the energy in his eye sockets drying up. The virus in his body was gnawing at his strength in his blood vessels, making his heat rays powerless and constantly suppressed.

The beam of light was getting closer and closer to him.

Just when Su Mo thought he was about to be devoured by his own heat rays, a ray of sunlight pierced through the gap in the dark clouds.

It was the evening sunlight, not intense, like a thin veil. It pierced through a crack in the clouds and fell directly on Su Mo.

Su Mo felt the warmth. Every cell in his body was greedily absorbing that light.

The virus in the body was temporarily suppressed by that force.

Su Mo didn't hesitate. He immediately stopped the heat beam and tilted his head. Homelander's beam grazed past his ear and exploded into a molten crater in the ground behind him.

Just as Homelander's gaze shifted, his body twisted sharply in mid-air, gliding out of the beam of light like a fish. The speed was so fast that Homelander's eyes couldn't keep up.

The next second, Su Mo appeared behind the Patriot.

His arms passed past Homelander's ears, and his hands crossed and clasped around Homelander's neck, gripping him tightly.

Naked choke!

The man's trachea was almost completely closed between his forearm and biceps, making a "clucking" sound.

Homelander's hands immediately gripped Su Mo's wrists, his ten fingers digging into his skin like claws, trying to pry them open.

Su Mo gritted his teeth, tightened his arms, and carried the people of the motherland into the sky.

The ground beneath their feet shrank rapidly.

The city lights turned into a blurry patch of light, and the clouds spread out below.

Homelander's struggles grew more and more intense; his feet kicked wildly in the air, his knees pushed against the air, and his body writhed wildly like a fish that had been caught.

They quickly passed through the clouds; the air grew thinner, the wind died down, and the surroundings became deathly silent.

Su Mo sensed that the man from his homeland was trembling; it was due to lack of oxygen. Even superhumans need to breathe oxygen from the air.

Su Mo didn't stop, and continued to accelerate.

They broke through the atmosphere. The Earth beneath their feet was a giant blue sphere, the patterns of the clouds clearly visible, and the ocean shimmering silvery-white in the sunlight.

Homelander finally pried Su Mo's hands off. He broke free and lurched forward several meters, clutching his neck and gasping for breath.

He took a few breaths, then suddenly realized something was wrong. There was no air. There was nothing at all.

His face flushed red, and he turned to look around. The sun was particularly dazzling in the vacuum of space, its rays shining directly on his face without being filtered by the atmosphere.

Homelander's eyes widened in shock. He immediately turned and rushed towards Earth.

Su Mo did not give him a chance.
