Chapter 31 Goodbye, Homelander
Su Mo's body traced an arc in space, positioning himself between the Homelander and Earth. He threw a right punch.
Homelander raised his arms to block, and a fist slammed into his forearm. His body was knocked back several meters by the punch, and before he could regain his balance, Su Mo's next punch was already upon him.
A left hook landed on Homelander's ribs, followed by a right knee strike to his chin, causing Homelander's head to snap back.
The two grappled again in space, outside of Earth. This time, however, Su Mo had the upper hand over Homelander.
Su Mo felt it. After arriving in space, his body was constantly immersed in the sun's sunlight. Unlike on Earth, where there was little sunlight in the evening.
Every cell in his body was cheering and absorbing. Stimulated by the sunlight, his body's antiviral mechanisms were operating at full speed, like an engine restarted at its highest power. The remaining viruses were identified, surrounded, devoured, and eliminated one by one.
In no time, the virus was completely eradicated. Su Mo's fist was twice as heavy as before.
No wonder he has a superhuman physique.
Su Mo sighed inwardly.
And, as expected of American comics. Even in a world with such a low power level, all sorts of extraordinary scientists can emerge.
He had no doubt that if the Vought International could obtain more of his data, cloning a Superman clone wouldn't be impossible. These kinds of geniuses who strayed off course in their technological development are everywhere in comics.
While Su Mo was thinking, his fists didn't stop.
His right fist slammed into Homelander's shoulder, his left fist into his chest, his knee into his thigh, and his instep into his side ribs.
Homelander could feel Su Mo's power surging continuously. Just now on Earth, he could overpower Su Mo and make him bleed. But now in space, his fists struck Su Mo as if hitting a steel ingot; Su Mo didn't even flinch.
The heat rays struck Su Mo's chest, leaving only a faint red mark that faded in seconds. He tried to grab Su Mo's neck, but Su Mo's neck was as stiff as an iron pillar, his finger bones cracking, and Su Mo didn't even blink.
The man's expression changed. The manic, bloodthirsty, and arrogant look disappeared from his face, replaced by something mixed with resentment, helplessness, and grievance.
Gradually, all of Homelander's attacks could no longer harm Su Mo. Homelander stopped attacking.
He hovered in space, his hands hanging at his sides, his chest heaving violently, his eyes fixed on Su Mo.
His lips moved, as if he wanted to say something, or perhaps he hesitated whether to speak. A strange expression crossed his face; his entire face was contorted in a grimace.
"bawl."
His voice couldn't be heard in a vacuum, but Su Mo's super hearing detected the frequency of his vocal cord vibrations.
"Is it possible to reach a settlement?"
At this moment, you're probably not joking.
Su Mo didn't answer with words. Instead, he answered with his fists.
His right fist shot out from his waist, the fist drawing a straight line in the vacuum, striking the homelander in the chest.
Homelander's body flew towards Earth like a kicked pebble. He was moving very fast.
Su Mo darted forward and caught up with Homelander, who was still flying.
Right straight punch, left palm strike, uppercut, left straight punch. Punch after punch, each one landing precisely on Homelander's body, each punch increasing his speed. Homelander's body tumbled and plummeted in space, like a billiard ball being repeatedly struck, unable to stop.
Finally, Su Mo pressed his hand against Homelander's chest. His palm rested on Homelander's uniform, fingers spread like a shield. He pressed down hard, propelling Homelander toward Earth at an astonishing speed.
The two broke through the atmosphere. The heat generated by friction was negligible in the face of Su Mo's biofield, but Homelander's uniform began to char, curl, and burn. A long trail of fire trailed behind them, like a falling meteor.
The ground rapidly magnified in my field of vision. The outline of the city, the grid of streets, the red brick roof of an abandoned factory.
Su Mo released his grip at the last moment, his body suddenly slowed down, and he hovered in mid-air.
Homelander continued his descent. His body crashed into the yard of the abandoned factory with a deafening roar, shaking the ground. A huge crater appeared in the concrete. The factory collapsed, bricks and dust raining down, covering him. Smoke and dust billowed up, engulfing the entire area.
Su Mo slowly descended, hovering at the edge of the pit, looking down at the Homelanders inside.
He was a gruesome sight. Not a single patch of his body was intact. Shreds of his uniform clung to his charred skin, making it impossible to distinguish fabric from flesh. His limbs were bent at unnatural angles, his ribs were caved in, and his face was covered in blood, his features indistinct. Only Homelander, being a superhuman, could have survived; otherwise, he would have been utterly mutilated.
The consciousness of the people of the motherland sank into the darkness.
He remembered that white laboratory, without windows or doors. The lab coats called him "the test subject," gave him a number, and recorded his data. He remembered his nickname "the shooting boy" and the way they laughed at him.
He thought of Madeline. The first time she smiled at him, he thought it was maternal love. But he knew she was simply managing an asset.
He thought of that photo, of his son Ryan, whom he never had the chance to hold.
Then everything disappeared.
Su Mo stood there, looking at the Homelander in the pit, and remained silent for a long time.
His breathing was steady, his heartbeat was slow, but his mind was in turmoil. He began to wonder if he had been too cruel.
After reflecting for a while, Su Mo came to a conclusion: she must restrain herself in the future. This time, she was recovering from weakness, and she was too angry and couldn't control herself. She can't do that again next time.
He thought for a moment, then took out his phone and sent an email to Butcher and Hughie respectively. The email was short: "Homelander is dead. Done."
Su Mo bent down, lifted the body of the homelander out of the pit, and flew up.
In the countryside, on a vast, empty meadow, there were no tombstones, no wreaths, no markers whatsoever. Su Mo dug a hole in the ground with his hands and placed Homelander inside. Su Mo squatted down beside the hole, reached out, and gently closed his eyelids with his thumb.
He pushed the soil back and piled it up into a small mound.
Su Mo stood in front of the mound for a few seconds, then turned and flew away.
Homelander is both pitiful and hateful, but ultimately he is the cause of Walter's misfortune. Otherwise, if he had received a good education like Superman, Homelander would have been a superhero too.
But there are no ifs, my countrymen, it is this chaotic world that has ruined you!
Thinking of this, Su Mo felt even more that the Water Group was hateful; they were truly disgusting capitalists.
P.S.: In the comics, Homelander is truly a good guy, almost like Superman, but unfortunately, he was driven insane by Black, a clone created by Vought. Black is Homelander's clone, looking exactly like him, using his appearance and clothing to do evil, making Homelander believe he had a split personality, driving him to a mental breakdown, and ultimately killing him.
