Alien invasion? Luckily, I'm Superman.

Chapter 32 When the wall falls, everyone pushes it down; Walter's curtain falls.

Su Mo, who had killed the people of his homeland, was feeling somewhat down. Perhaps he really should go on vacation.

Thinking it over, Su Mo immediately took action. He flew to Hawaii and found a hotel near Waikiki Beach.

He spent the day sunbathing, drank two glasses of pineapple juice, ate a grilled pork rib and a bowl of Hawaiian bibimbap, and also admired the beautiful women on the beach. Sunshine, waves, bikinis—these things have a strange power to temporarily push away the heavy thoughts in one's mind.

After a good day of rest, Su Mo's mood gradually improved. He lay on a beach chair, watching the clouds slowly move across the sky, and began to think about things further ahead.

He had found his future goal: to continuously travel through various worlds and develop Earth into a vast power spanning an infinite universe.

The first world has already recovered the wreckage of the alien spaceship. This world contains Vought's technology and superhuman samples. There will be more worlds and more resources in the future.

Earth was ravaged by aliens before he left; rebuilding it will take time and technology. He could be the porter.

Having rested for a day, it's time to go back and check on Hughie's situation. Su Mo got up from the beach chair, brushed the sand off his body, and took to the air.

He flew freely in the sky, the blue of the Pacific Ocean spreading out beneath him, the clouds as soft as cotton.

After flying for a while, he returned to the United States, landing outside Susan's office at the Federal Operations Bureau. The office was empty, the lights were off, and the documents on the desk were neatly arranged; she must have been dealing with Walter's matter. Su Mo climbed through the window, took out her phone, and sent Hughie an email: "Where are you?"

A moment later, his phone vibrated. Hughie replied with the address: an old warehouse in the East End.

Su Mo followed the address and arrived at the location, where she saw Hughie and Susan standing next to a command vehicle with a row of screens in front of them displaying surveillance footage from different locations.

The special agents, wearing bulletproof vests and headsets, are on their mission: to destroy Vought's various laboratories.

Su Mo stepped forward, and Hughie grinned when he saw him, handing him a bottle of water.

Su Mo unscrewed the cap, took a sip, and asked what the situation was. Hughie told him that after news of Su Mo killing Homelander came back yesterday, most of the superhumans chose to surrender.

Superhumans with extraordinary abilities are a minority, and those who are well-educated are not necessarily so bad.

Many of them were originally kind, but gradually fell into depravity due to helplessness.

The more powerful ones, like Queen Maeve, couldn't fight Vought, but at least they could remain untainted and not participate in his evil deeds. Starlight, on the other hand, is a typical good person, a true superhero in the making.

Therefore, taking down the Vought Group is not difficult. Under the combined pressure of the entire Federation, Vought is at most a small caramel. Perhaps only when facing the American medical complex and military-industrial complex will it be truly difficult. Those things are deeply entrenched, and moving one part will have far-reaching consequences.

But Vought is different; it's just a company that makes money off superhuman stars, and its foundation lies in Homelander's fists and heat rays.

When Homelander's fists are no longer effective, and heat rays are no longer terrifying, it's just a pretty office building. Driven by various forces, the Vought International collapsed. Vought isn't Hydra; cutting off its head means the body dies.

Su Mo nodded, about to ask something else, when her gaze fell on the girl standing behind Hughie. Blonde hair, a gold uniform, and a star pattern on her chest.

Starlight. She and Hughie stood very close, shoulders almost touching, their hands hanging at their sides, their fingertips occasionally brushing together.

"So, you two are dating?"

Su Mo looked at Hughie and Starlight, who were emitting a sour smell, and uttered this sentence.

Hughie blushed slightly, but he didn't deny it; instead, he smiled.

"Yes, Su Mo."

Hughie said he glanced at the starlight, then turned back.

"Back when we were confronting the Vought Corporation headquarters, Starlight and Queen Maeve were the first to join us. That's when I realized we'd met before. We bumped into each other in the park the very day Butcher told me to leave the team. At the time, I didn't know she was Starlight."

Starlight stood next to Hughie, her hand resting naturally on his arm. She looked at Su Mo with a serious expression and a tone that carried the determination of someone who had found direction again after experiencing disillusionment.

"Mr. Su Mo, thank you for bringing down the Water Group."

She said, "Vought is a filthy place, the place where my dreams were shattered. But you killed Homelander, and that gave me the courage to pursue my dreams again. Isn't it better to be an ordinary superhero than to be one of Vought's puppet Seven?"

Xingguang's words made Su Mo a little embarrassed. He waved his hand, not believing that all the credit belonged to him.

Even without him, there were others who were working hard in the shadows, such as Butcher, Hughie, Susan, Starlight himself, and those who hadn't completely lost their conscience under Walter's oppression.

"I just did what I was supposed to do."

Su Mo said, her tone filled with emotion.

"This is not difficult for me. But you, my friend, you are the real hero."

These words came from Su Mo's heart. Although Butcher was a bastard whose only goal was revenge, he was also acting for ordinary people. Hughie was too. And Starlight even more so. A true hero isn't the strongest fighter, but the one who dares to stand up when everyone else is silent.

Hughie felt a little embarrassed by what he said, touched his nose, and changed the subject.

"Then let's witness the end of Walter."

He shrugged and led Su Mo toward the parking lot.

Hughie was driving. He gripped the steering wheel with both hands, his eyes fixed on the road, chatting with Su Mo as he drove.

The court they were going to was downtown, where senior executives of the Water Group were having their first hearing today.

"Do you know?"

Hughie said, his tone carrying a complex mix of emotions, as if he had just finished reviewing the case file.

"Actually, the crimes of Vought's Seven weren't as bad as we thought. Apart from Homelander, Black, Invisible Man, and A-Train who are already dead, the others didn't kill many innocent people." (Author's note: Of course, if they were bad guys, would I let them live?)

He paused for a moment, probably remembering that he hadn't believed it when he first saw the case file, but after thinking about it, he realized that it wasn't wrong.

The seven-person team was just a group of stars promoted by the Walter Corporation. Walter wouldn't let stars do the really dirty and tiring work. They had a dedicated cleaning team and a dedicated black-hat crew. The names of those people weren't even on Walter's official employee list, except for Blackie.

"Queen Maeve, as a veteran of the Seven, was forced to directly or indirectly, or tacitly condone, the killing of civilians, but she rarely killed them herself. Deep Sea currently only has indirect records and helped Walter cover up his crimes, with no direct murders. Starlight just joined and has nothing yet."

Su Mo leaned back in the passenger seat, looking at the street scene outside the window. He didn't speak, he just listened.

Hughie's car turned into a narrow street, the white marble facade of the courthouse gleaming faintly in the twilight.
