Alien invasion? Luckily, I'm Superman.

After saying those words, Baron Strucker withdrew from the Hydra meeting. His virtual avatar flickered and disappeared. The meeting had been convened by the Baron himself, and with his departure, the others naturally dispersed.

Upon hearing the Baron's news of the "Avengers' attack," they were all on edge. Some muttered curses under their breath, while others exchanged information with their neighbors before leaving. They decided to be more cautious in their next move. At least they needed to see just how much intelligence the Avengers actually possessed this time.

Alexander Pierce didn't log off immediately. He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest. He was considering whether to begin Project Insight ahead of schedule. The three Helicopters were already built, but the programming wasn't finalized, and haste could lead to unforeseen problems. Moreover, Nick Fury seemed to have sensed something.

That one-eyed guy recently discovered something he shouldn't have. Since he's found out, he should just disappear. Pierce's fingers stopped. It's a pity he can't recruit him into Hydra. Fury is a useful man, but he's too stubborn.

Pierce shook his head and left the meeting.

Going back to reality.

As soon as Baron Strucker left the meeting, he saw his assistant waiting at the door. The assistant looked rather grim.

"How is it?" the Baron's voice was panicked. "How many Avengers have arrived? Has the defense line been breached?"

"No, but it's coming soon." The assistant's voice was tense. "Our soldiers are simply no match for the Avengers' invasion. Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and another superpowered individual we haven't documented. The outer defenses have already fallen."

The assistant hesitated for a moment, but finally made the suggestion.

"Your Excellency, should we send the test subjects out? This would allow us to obtain more data."

Baron Strucker glanced at his assistant. The assistant lowered his head. The baron thought for a moment, then nodded. He instructed his assistant to order the release of the brainwashed Maxinov siblings. After all, the two children were an unexpected bonus; now it would be good to see how they performed in actual combat.

On the other hand, the Avengers and Su Mo's surprise attack was highly effective.

The Quinjet landed in a clearing in the woods outside the base, and the hatch opened. Everyone disembarked silently and, under Steve's hand signals, spread out into tactical formation. Su Mo was in the air, Tony was to his left, and Clint and Natasha were on the rear wing.

They quickly cleared out the outer sentries. Clint's arrows flew, and the guards fell without a sound. Natasha's dagger and Steve's shield were constantly being thrown and retrieved. Before Hydra could react, the Avengers had broken through the enemy's heavy firepower.

The base's main entrance was a heavy alloy door, with two heavy machine guns mounted behind concrete bunkers on either side. Bullets rained down, striking Steve's shield with a dense clang and sparks flying. Steve advanced steadily, shield in hand. He weaved between bunkers, his shield occasionally flying out from behind cover, spinning, hitting the machine gun positions, bouncing back, firing again, bouncing back again. After several rounds, both heavy machine guns fell silent.

Su Mo and Tony continued their aerial assault. Tony's palm pulse cannons bombarded the artillery positions and armored vehicles hidden behind cover, one shot after another. Su Mo hovered high in the sky, his gaze sweeping across the entire battlefield, heat rays shooting from his eyes, precisely eliminating the bunkers and firing positions that Tony couldn't deal with in time.

Hawkeye and Black Widow advanced rapidly across the ground. Clint stood atop the wreckage of an armored vehicle, arrows raining down. Natasha lay prone behind a pile of rubble, the scope of her sniper rifle gleaming coldly in the moonlight. Their coordination was seamless; Hydra had nowhere to escape under their crossfire.

The Hydra soldiers were routed. They threw down their weapons and ran.

Just then, Su Mo noticed something was wrong. A blurry figure flashed past the edge of his vision, so fast that he only caught a vague outline before he could react. The figure was heading towards Clint.

"Watch out!" Su Mo swooped down from mid-air, grabbing Clint's shoulder and pulling him aside. A silver-white figure flashed past where Clint had just been standing. If Su Mo hadn't pulled him, the figure's hand would have already pierced Clint's back with a karate chop.

Su Mo narrowed his eyes. He recognized the other person: Pietro Maxinov, Quicksilver. Since he had appeared, his sister Scarlet Witch should be here too.

"Watch out!" Su Mo's voice rang out, "There's a speed demon! And watch out for another mind-controller hiding somewhere!"

"Everyone should focus on maintaining control and avoid killing those two superpowered youths," Su Mo added. "They are also victims."

The Avengers all nodded. They were all superheroes with a strong sense of justice, and saving the innocent was their consistent principle.

Sigh, they really went to great lengths to protect everyone. Su Mo sighed inwardly, his body tracing an arc in the air as he caught up with Quicksilver, who was moving at high speed across the battlefield.

Quicksilver is fast, but Su Mo easily kept up with his super speed. (Quicksilver died from a bullet in the film, which is worse than A-Train, but generally, unless it's the special A-Train save in season five, Quicksilver crushing A-Train is just how Marvel works.)

"Pietro," Su Mo's voice was clear and earnest, "Stop following Hydra. Think about it, are they really good to you? Let's destroy them together. Think about the experiments and torture Hydra inflicted on you."

His expression was sincere. Quicksilver's body paused for a moment, as if struggling, but the struggle lasted only a brief moment. His hand slashed out again, aimed at Su Mo's throat.

Su Mo grabbed that hand. His fingers gripped Quicksilver's wrist, and with a pull, he drew Quicksilver into his arms, holding him tightly. Quicksilver struggled wildly in Su Mo's embrace, kicking his legs.

Su Mo raised his hand, gently controlling the pressure, and tapped Quicksilver's temple. Quicksilver's eyes rolled back, his body went limp, and he lost consciousness. Just to be safe, Su Mo grabbed Quicksilver's thigh with one hand and gently bent it. The bone made a dull thud, breaking, and the entire leg lost all strength.

It would be bad if Quicksilver woke up and took the opportunity to escape. If he accidentally killed someone after escaping, it would be difficult to clear his name. Su Mo didn't want to kill him, but he also couldn't let him have the opportunity to hurt others while out of control.

In the shadows, Scarlet Witch Wanda was using chaos magic to control the surrounding rocks and steel bars, attacking the Avengers. Then she saw Su Mo catch up with Pietro, and saw Su Mo break his leg. Her eyes instantly turned red, and she bit her lip. But her telepathy told her that Pietro was still alive, so she didn't lose control.

Enraged, she emerged from underground. A dark red force field surged around her, like a thin layer of bubbles. Her hair floated within the force field.

Clint's tranquilizer arrow was fired at her, but it was deflected the instant it made contact with the force field. Natasha's sniper bullet stopped a meter away from her, hovering in the air before being twisted and compressed by the force field and falling to the ground.

Tony attacked her from behind, his stun-activated hand pulse cannon aimed at the back of her head. Wanda didn't even turn her head. Telekinesis, like an invisible hand, grabbed Tony's armor and flung him around. Tony's body was thrown out, tumbling through the air countless times, like a tin can being tossed around.

Wanda raised her right hand, aiming it at Su Mo. A beam of chaotic red light shot from her palm, striking his chest precisely. The beam carried a more primal, more fundamental energy. A scorch mark appeared on Su Mo's chest the instant he was hit. He could feel the wound healing being suppressed, slowed considerably.

Su Mo frowned. Chaos magic, one of Marvel's most advanced powers, theoretically can alter reality, distort probability, and create and destroy everything. Wanda is currently using it unconsciously, releasing it instinctively. But even so, it has already harmed Su Mo. If left unchecked and allowed to grow unchecked, she will eventually become an existence even Su Mo cannot easily deal with, perhaps even unknowingly destroying the universe. (In Doctor Strange 2, Scarlet Witch caused a multiverse crisis.)

Scarlet Witch's chaos magic is definitely not something the Mind Stone could achieve; at best, it's a disguise for chaos magic to invade this universe. The Mind Stone is merely a key, opening the door; what lies behind that door is the real threat. If left unchecked, the ever-growing chaos magic will eventually assimilate or destroy this world. (In the comics, Scarlet Witch's power was given to her by the chaos demon Seth, with the purpose of possessing a vessel to return to reality.)
