Chapter 70 Surrender, Accepting Su Mo's Proposal
The Regent King, as expected of the strongest warrior among the Vitrum aliens, fell into a coma after being hit by two punches from Su Mo, but was still able to regain consciousness before hitting the ground.
Of course, this was also partly due to Su Mo holding back. He still needed to subdue the Vitrum aliens for his own use. The Vitrum aliens revered strength, and after Su Mo defeated the Regent, he would be the most powerful among them. Moreover, Earth still had the descendants of the former kings Nolan and Mark, so he believed the Vitrum aliens would make a wise choice.
The Regent crashed to the ground, and the moment of impact, the earth shattered into a spiderweb of cracks. Dust and debris were thrown hundreds of meters high by the shockwave, like a nuclear explosion. The ground within a radius of several kilometers trembled.
Trevor climbed out of the pit, his eyes fierce.
Su Mo remained expressionless. Without turning around, he swiftly caught the Regent's hand chop, which came from behind him. With a firm squeeze of his fingers, Cui Ge's knuckles cracked crisply in his palm. Su Mo then pulled the Regent in front of him and slapped him to the ground again with his right hand.
"Treig, give up." Su Mo looked down at the Regent at the bottom of the pit. "Accept my conditions. Earth still has the descendants of the former king—Nolan, the greatest warrior of Witrum, and his son Mark."
He wanted to use these words to demoralize the other party.
But it was no use. Trigger's eyes grew even angrier. Su Mo understood. Having sat on the throne for so long, suddenly being told there were two legitimate heirs above him was unacceptable to anyone. Especially since Nolan and Mark's strength was far inferior to his.
"No, I'd rather die!" Treig shouted, tearing at the layers of rock that were pressing down on him with his bare hands, his muscles bulging as he charged furiously towards Su Mo. He was faster than before, and the ground beneath his feet blasted open one deep crater after another. (Note 1)
Su Mo yawned, casually grabbed the other party's raised fist, and flung the Regent away.
After being thrown into the air, Cui Ge quickly adjusted his posture and used his legs to propel himself back. His muscles tensed, and he channeled all his anger and resentment into his right fist, slamming it towards Su Mo. The force of his punch created a white trail in the air.
This time, Su Mo did not dodge. He lowered his head solemnly and took Cui Ge's strongest blow with his forehead.
At the moment of impact, a ring-shaped shockwave exploded between the two, completely flattening the surrounding ruins. Su Mo's neck was slightly raised, but his body did not sway, and he did not even blink, thus catching the Regent's angry blow.
The Regent's momentum faltered, and his whole body went limp.
Su Mo swiftly brought the knife down. The chop into the Regent's abdomen was precise and powerful. Of course, he didn't use his full strength, nor did he intend to kill him.
At that moment, General Witrum Craig charged in from the flank, roaring.
Su Mo frowned and slowly raised his fist.
Craig's sprint came to an abrupt halt three meters in front of Su Mo. His knees slammed into the ground, he knelt on one knee, head bowed, hands clasped in fists.
"Revered powerful one, please spare our Regent." Craig's voice echoed across the desolate wilderness. "We are willing to follow you."
Su Mo was somewhat surprised. "Craig, you with your thick eyebrows and big eyes, you were already the first person in anime to skillfully woo Earth girls, and now you're even sliding on your knees so quickly? I really misjudged you."
"Of course, this is just my own rant. It's a good thing the Vitrum aliens are willing to submit directly. There were only a few dozen Vitrum aliens left to begin with; if they rebel and are wiped out, only a handful will remain. How will we quickly cultivate the next generation on Earth then?"
Craig, kneeling on the ground, was filled with bitterness.
"Even the strongest Regent couldn't defeat Su Mo. Are we supposed to send ordinary Witrum warriors to their deaths? How can we restore the glory of the previous king's era if we do that? The Regent already had plans to invade Earth and breed with humans anyway; now that he's been captured by Earthlings, it's not a big deal."
Craig consoled himself with this thought.
"Craig, don't..." the Regent began with difficulty, his voice hoarse and weak.
boom.
Su Mo withdrew his fist from Trevor's head, who had fallen into a deep sleep again, and then looked at Craig with a kind expression: "Craig, continue. I believe you already have a plan."
Kneeling on the ground, Craig looked at the unconscious Regent, sighed, silently apologized in his heart, and then spoke: "Great Lord of Earth, we are willing to obey your orders. Now, you may summon the warriors of Witrum as Regent. His prestige in the Empire is unparalleled; if he agrees, no one will resist."
Su Mo nodded, agreeing to Craig's plan. Subduing the Vitrum aliens didn't require a complicated plan. Earth had the descendants of the former king, legitimacy was secured. The regent had been defeated, and the power imbalance was established; there was basically no resistance.
The subsequent operation went smoothly. The pragmatic Vitrum aliens, seeing the Regent fast asleep like a baby, immediately agreed. Indeed, the Regent's prestige was exceptionally high, or rather, his strength far surpassed that of ordinary Vitrum aliens. Even the Regent couldn't defy Su Mo, let alone these ordinary Vitrum warriors.
Of course, there was resistance. But under Su Mo's ingenious hypnotic technique, the other party quickly fell asleep. Su Mo took it as consent. Craig, watching Su Mo's actions, secretly sighed for the bleak future of the Witrum Empire.
Soon after completely subduing the Vitrum aliens, Su Mo left behind the necessary soldiers to maintain the colony, while the rest returned to Earth with him. On the way back, Su Mo chose to travel on a Vitrum alien spaceship. He didn't want to experience another tedious interstellar journey.
With the spaceship operating at full speed, Su Mo and his group returned to the solar system two weeks later.
Looking out the porthole at the familiar sun, Su Mo was filled with emotion. He had only gone out for a short while, yet he had subdued one of the most powerful forces in the entire universe.
Soon, the outline of that azure planet came into view. White clouds, blue sea, continents—everything was so familiar. The spaceship slowly entered the atmosphere, and immediately, a cautious communication request came through the communicator from Cecily.
Su Mo waved to Craig, signaling him to answer the call. Craig hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and pressed the answer button.
In the Global Defense Agency's strategic command center, Cissel was on high alert. He stared at the Witrum spaceship on the screen. Nolan had described the characteristics of this ship in detail, and Su Mo had gone missing. Fine beads of sweat appeared on the only skin on his face.
The communication was established.
"Who are you? Why are you coming to Earth?" Cissel immediately stood up and looked at the communication device to ask.
A hesitant voice came from the loudspeaker: "We... are the warriors of Witrum."
Cecilia's breath hitched, and she felt a wave of dizziness. But soon, the next sound brought her a sigh of relief.
"We have come to submit to the Lord of Earth, the great Su Mo."
Cecil paused for a second. Upon hearing this, Cecil knew that Su Mo had taken care of everything. As for the Earth Lord mentioned by the other party, Cecil didn't care at all. It was only because Su Mo didn't want it that Cecil had already handed over the position of Director of the Global Defense Bureau to him.
Cecil leaned back abruptly in his chair, let out a long breath, closed his eyes, and silently cursed in the darkness.
Seeing Cecil's comical reaction of going from being on high alert to feeling relieved in the base, Su Mo laughed and flew out of the spaceship, instantly returning to the Global Defense Agency's underground base and appearing behind Cecil.
"How's it going, Cecil?" Su Mo patted Cecil's back hard, making his android body thud. "You won't have to worry about the Witrum aliens' revenge anymore."
Cecilia turned around, looked at Su Mo with a helpless expression, opened her mouth speechlessly, and finally just sighed.
Of course, we won't have to worry about the Vitrum aliens' retaliation anymore. But from now on, we'll be facing the Planetary Alliance.
Cecilia rubbed her temples, feeling like her hair was about to fall off, even though she didn't actually have any hair at all.
Note 1: I know that the Regent King always wanted to find the descendant of the former king and have him lead the Vitrum aliens, but later in the comics, he regretted it and even tried to kill Mark after learning his identity. So I am changing this here to bring it forward.
