HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 13 Making new friends starts with pranks and jokes

When Harry retrieved his glasses, the damaged parts had been repaired, and the glasses were as good as when they first came out of the factory.

"That's amazing!!"

Harry's eyes widened: "You...you're also...?"

"I'm a wizard, just like you," Elaine chuckled softly.

He deserves full marks for his performance!

"So you really are a wizard too!"

With my glasses on, my vision became clear again.

Harry's face lit up with surprise upon seeing Elaine's face.

It looked like a pigeon eating bread in a square, finally finding a kindred spirit willing to fly and poop with it, and have some fries together.

"But why were you able to... well... without using a wand just now...?"

"Which one are you asking about? That's 'silent, staffless spellcasting'!"

Elaine's lips curled into a slight smile: "This is the foundation for enrollment."

"If you can't even do this, you'll only be able to do jobs like cleaning toilets and feeding animals when you get to the academy, and you won't be allowed to learn magic."

What?!

Harry was instantly stunned.

I still don't know how to use a single spell!

Not to mention 'silent spellcasting without a staff'.

And so, my life after arriving at Hogwarts...

Just as Harry was trying to reassure himself that "it's okay, it's better than living at my aunt's house," a strange voice came from beside him again, like a slap on the head.

"Hey, kid!"

"Your joke clearly scared him; that's not a good thing!"

Harry looked up quickly upon hearing the sound and saw that the short, stout lady who had been walking in front of him, along with most of her red-haired children, had somehow come to his side.

"Oh ho~ Madam, there's no need to rush to uphold justice."

Elaine had actually noticed the Weasleys' approach long ago.

They were drawn to Harry's shout when he spoke to him earlier, startling Harry so much that his glasses flew off.

Mrs. Molly, always thoughtful and helpful, guessed that Harry was a freshman this year when she saw the contents of his luggage cart. Noticing that he was alone, she stopped with the children to wait and offer assistance at any time.

As a result, she listened to everything Elaine said to persuade Harry.

"I don't think this guy is cowardly enough to be scared by my joke."

Elaine chuckled and waved his hand. "Besides, a harmless joke can quickly build friendships between new classmates, can't it?"

"Uh... um... I guess so..."

Although Harry was still unaware of the situation, he could tell from Elaine's calm expression and smiling tone that the atmosphere wasn't too tense.

Poor, silly child...

Seeing this, Mrs. Molly sighed and patted Harry's shoulder with concern.

"Child, you must be a freshman this year, right?"

"Don't worry too much, Hogwarts doesn't make students clean toilets or feed animals."

Upon hearing this, the red-haired twins standing nearby couldn't contain themselves and started shouting.

"No, no, Mom, you don't know, they still do it sometimes."

"That's right, we were both punished like that before."

Mrs. Molly's face changed instantly.

"George, Fred, shut up!"

The Weasley twins did indeed do things like cleaning toilets and feeding animals at Hogwarts.

However, that was because they were punished with confinement for causing trouble at school.

That's why Madam Molly stopped their jokes, lest she frighten the poor boy who knew nothing about Hogwarts.

The Weasley twins, instead of shutting up when called by Madam Molly, became even more agitated.

The two quickly came to Elaine's side, flanking him on either side.

"Hello, I'm George."

"I am Fred."

"We all saw your magic just now."

"You're amazing!"

"You can cast spells silently and without a staff?"

"Although it's just a simple 'restoration spell'."

"But it's also really amazing."

"Can you tell us how you did it?"

The two spoke one sentence after another, without pausing for a moment, sounding as if they were the same person talking, with a 3D surround sound effect.

"It's very simple, just practice more."

"If you want to learn, there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas once you get to school."

"Besides the Restoration Charm, I also know a few other spells; I guarantee they'll be interesting!"

Upon hearing this, the twins exchanged a glance, and all four of their eyes gleamed simultaneously.

"George, I think we've got a rival this semester!"

"Yes, Fred! Our title as the King of Mischief at Hogwarts might be in jeopardy!"

"But I think this year will be very interesting."

"It's definitely much more interesting than the previous two years!"

Elaine was entangled with the twins, while Harry, led by Madam Molly, walked alongside Ron.

"So, what you said earlier was just a joke, right?"

Harry asked the question that was most pressing on his mind at that moment.

In fact, influenced by the Dursleys, Harry never felt that 'adults' were someone he could rely on, so he always thought about solving things on his own.

However, Mrs. Molly's performance of "upholding justice" and her enthusiastic attitude just now made him realize that the lady in front of him seemed to be trustworthy.

"Of course it's a joke!"

"Hogwarts doesn't have a test for silent, wandless spellcasting at all; there are very few wizards in the entire wizarding world who can do that!"

At this point, Mrs. Molly herself fell silent.

Yes, very few people in the entire wizarding world can cast spells silently and without a wand, yet that little wizard who was about to start school did it?

Who is he?!

Upon learning that everything had just been a joke, Harry visibly breathed a sigh of relief, and then asked the second question that had been lingering in his mind.

"Madam, do you know where Platform Nine and Three-Quarters is? I've been looking for it for ages..."

"Of course!"

"Do you see it? It's right in front of you!"

As they were talking, the group had already arrived in front of platforms nine and ten.

Mrs. Molly pointed to the stone wall between the two platforms, then turned to look at her other son, whom she had been neglecting since earlier.

"Percy, you go first and set an example for everyone."

Percy didn't say much, and pushed his luggage cart towards the stone wall.

Just then, a large group of people suddenly walked over and blocked their view. By the time the last person had passed, Percy had disappeared.

Harry was about to ask what was going on when the twins behind him couldn't wait to explain to Elaine, who was also a freshman.

"Those people who just walked by were all employees of the Ministry of Magic."

"They appear here whenever Hogwarts starts."

"The main job of these people is to guide new students and distract Muggles."

"You don't need to worry about anything later, just follow behind us and charge straight ahead."
