HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 64 Flitwick: He understands my pain!

After finishing the registration, everyone sat down to continue eating.

Since there were so many of them, they all sat at the Gryffindor table in the center of the dining hall, including the four Malfoys.

Malfoy ate while glaring menacingly at Harry, as if the bread in his hand wasn't bread, but Harry's flesh.

"What's wrong with him?"

"They were probably too provoked."

"It feels like Malfoy is channeling his anger into a voracious appetite, ready to devour every last grain of food on the Gryffindor table..."

Hannah, Susan, and Hermione, who came from Ravenclaw, were pointing and whispering at Malfoy.

Harry was complaining to Elaine, Ernie, and the others about how he had been targeted by Snape that morning.

"No matter if I do well or poorly, or even if I do nothing wrong, he can always find a reason to scold me and deduct points from my score."

"I feel he has a very special feeling for me, a feeling that's more intense than 'dislike,' almost like 'hatred'!"

Justin asked, "Have you offended Professor Snape before?"

"No."

Ernie thought for a moment and said, "Could it be because you're close to Elaine that you got dragged into this?"

"Then why is he targeting me and not Ron?"

Ron said quietly, "Maybe it's because I'm not as famous as you? I heard Professor Snape used to be a Death Eater..."

In his view, it was perfectly reasonable for Snape, as a former Death Eater, to harbor resentment towards Harry for defeating Voldemort.

Harry paused, stunned. "Is that so...? It doesn't seem like it."

"In fact, I have a... strange feeling that when Professor Snape looks at me, he's not actually looking at me, but at someone else."

Everyone: "..."

Are you sure you just spoke in English?

"I think you must have been scolded too harshly by Professor Snape. You're having a nervous breakdown now. Go back to your dorm and get some rest after you finish eating."

In the afternoon, Elaine had his last class of the first week—flight class.

Flight lessons are only offered to first-year students, and the curriculum involves flying on a broomstick.

A young wizard is considered successful if he can ride a broomstick and complete normal take-off and landing movements, as well as fly a certain distance in the air.

Ravenclaw took flight lessons with Hufflepuff.

Most of the junior wizards in the two colleges are either salted fish or bookworms; the former are good at eating, and the latter are good at reading. Very few of them have good athletic ability.

Elaine simply performed as expected, yet he stood out from the group of young wizards and ranked among the top.

Elaine wasn't interested in flying on a broomstick.

If he could, he would prefer to fly directly.

Fortunately, this is not difficult for him. As long as he can select a mage who uses wind magic or wing magic from the system in the future, he will be able to fly.

……

Saturday morning.

As planned, Elaine went to Flitwick's class to listen to lectures and learn advanced magic.

However, when he arrived at the classroom, he was surprised to find that he was the only student there!

It was only at this moment that Elaine realized that Professor Flitwick's earlier statement that "not many people come to listen to the lectures" was not an exaggeration, but that no one really came!

"Professor Flitwick, what about... the others?"

"No one should be coming today."

Flitwick stood atop his pile of books, sighing with a somewhat forlorn expression: "It's perfectly normal for young wizards to want to relax on Saturday mornings after a week of classes."

"I'm already very happy that you could come."

"To be honest, I was even worried you'd forgotten about it."

Elaine immediately replied with utmost seriousness, "As a Hufflepuff, I will never forget anything I've promised!"

"And if we're talking about how hard it is to teach, you're the one who's really working hard!"

"Everyone knows that you're responsible for Charms lessons for all seven grades, a total of twenty-two classes. You also have to prepare lessons, check homework, and handle Ravenclaw school affairs. You work so much harder than us students!!"

Upon hearing this, Flitwick was struck dumb, his entire body trembling.

Three seconds later, he suddenly yelled "Wow!" and jumped off his pile of books.

"So many years...so many years..."

"Finally...finally...finally, some students are starting to understand how tough it is for us professors!"

This short, adorable middle-aged man was moved to tears by Elaine's words!

"I should have dragged that old bastard Dumbledore over here today and let him hear what you have to say!"

"You have no idea, all he does is make us work, work overtime, work, work overtime..."

"He has no idea that I'm no longer a young, strong guy like Snape or Quirrell! I'm a middle-aged man in my forties! A man facing a 'midlife crisis'!!"

"In recent years, my physical condition has been deteriorating, and my hair is thinning more and more every day!"

"What hurts me the most is that, because of my work, I haven't even experienced love yet!"

Flitwick became increasingly agitated as he spoke, and finally collapsed to the ground, bursting into tears.

Elivin: "..."

Are all the male professors at Hogwarts this sensitive?

You're making it difficult for me to respond, Professor!

After a long while...

Flitwick finally composed himself.

He got up from the ground, wiped the tears off his face with a few quick swipes, and then cast a "refreshing spell" on himself.

Immediately, a blush of shame appeared on his face.

"I'm sorry, Elaine."

"As a professor, I actually lost my composure in front of my students just now."

Elaine rushed forward and grabbed Flitwick's hand tightly.

"No, I completely understand your feelings, Professor."

"I know that every man has a lot of pain in his heart, but there is often no one to talk to about this pain. He can only slowly digest it on his own. When he really can't digest it anymore, he can only find a place where no one can see him and have a good cry, and then continue to move forward."

"Professor Flitwick, you're a real man!!"

"So, I didn't see or hear anything just now."

Merlin's beard!

This little wizard understands me! He really understands me!!

Flitwick was so moved he almost cried again: "Elevit, you're such a kind and empathetic boy!"

"I've heard about your recent 'study club' formation. You want to help other students improve together, right?"

"That's great!"

"You're far superior to those bookworms in our college!"

"From now on, you can come to me with any spell you want to learn."

"I will definitely teach you everything I know!!"
