Chapter 96 The Art Society is Established
After entering November, the temperature dropped sharply.
It started snowing lightly at Hogwarts in the early hours of the morning and gradually stopped around seven or eight o'clock when the sun was high in the sky.
During lunch, Elaine announced the establishment of the "Art Club" in the restaurant and invited young wizards who liked music, painting or other art activities to join the club.
However, compared to their previous interest in sports, food, and learning, the young wizards were clearly less interested in music and art. In addition, Elaine did not use a concert or art exhibition as a gimmick this time, so there were very few people responding.
In the afternoon, Elaine led the young wizards who loved music to an open space outside the castle to practice their newly acquired instruments.
If you ask them how well they practiced, most of them can be described in seven words: "awful and unpleasant to listen to."
However, everyone enjoyed it.
The number of people participating in this music gathering was small; there were only about ten people in total from the seven grades and four colleges.
Ernie, Justin, and Hannah, who had previously followed Elaine around, also chose to decline this time. They tried out various musical instruments in the common room last night, only to be deeply disappointed by their poor talent.
Of the four friends, only Susan Bornes remains.
She was particularly interested in the violin, but unfortunately she had no talent for it. The sound she made was similar to sawing wood, which made everyone laugh.
Susan, however, was not discouraged at all and continued to practice with great enthusiasm, her face practically screaming "both bad and playful."
Among this group was Cedric, a fellow Hufflepuff alumnus, who could play several complete songs on his harmonica.
This made Elaine exclaim: This senior is truly well-rounded!
Cedric also brought Cho Chang, a second-year Ravenclaw student.
As a Chinese American, Qiu Zhang showed a strong interest in the guzheng, which has a very classical feel.
However, she had never played this instrument before and naively thought it was played directly with her fingers. After playing for more than ten minutes, her ten fingers became red and swollen, and even left several deep red marks on her fingertips.
Cedric felt a pang of heartache watching from the side and, without saying a word, tried to pull the little girl to the medical room.
The surrounding young wizards immediately burst into laughter upon seeing this, making Cho Chang blush with embarrassment. She kept her head down and remained silent for the entire afternoon.
The fewest people came from Gryffindor, but the Weasley twins showed up as usual to show their support.
At first, they just played the instruments casually, playing with them for a few minutes and then putting them down. But later, they discovered the suona, a musical "rogue" instrument.
After discovering the wonders of the suona, the two were as excited as if they had discovered a new world. They ran around the castle with it, playing it loudly as they ran, attracting the attention of the young wizards.
But soon, their "disturbing" behavior was met with severe punishment from Professor McGonagall.
Ultimately, both players were penalized with a 10-point deduction and forced to stay indoors, and the suona returned to Eleven's hands.
Among the young wizards who signed up to join the Art Club, Slytherin had the largest number.
Besides Draco Malfoy, Daphne Greengrass is also among them.
These two came from wealthy families and received a good aristocratic education from a young age. They knew some music and performed better than others, though only to a limited extent.
The group played happily until 5 p.m. before taking their instruments back to the art club classroom and dispersing.
Not long after leaving the art club classroom, Elaine bumped into Harry and Ron.
The two rushed over to tell Elaine about a major discovery—
"Professor Snape wants to steal that thing in the fourth-floor hallway!"
Elaine: "————"
Has the story finally reached this point?
-
"What evidence do you have that Snape wanted to steal something?"
"He's not some black guy with dreadlocks."
Harry stood there stunned for several seconds.
He couldn't understand why Elaine would make that connection.
Harry then recounted his experiences of the day.
It turns out that Harry will officially start playing Quidditch tomorrow, so he borrowed "The Origins of Quidditch" from the library today, but Snape forcibly took it away. Harry was naturally unhappy and planned to go to Snape's office to get the book back, but—
"I've discovered that Professor Snape has injured his leg!"
"Those wounds are bites. I was bitten by Dudley and his friends' dogs before, I can't be mistaken!"
Elaine: "I also heard him muttering to himself in his office, saying, 'How can a person possibly defend against three heads at the same time?'"
"This is obviously referring to Lou Williams!"
Harry's tone was absolutely certain, and his round glasses seemed to reflect a dazzling white light full of wisdom.
"Now, all the clues have connected!"
"The troll last night was let in by Professor Snape. His purpose was to create chaos so he could take the opportunity to steal things from the fourth floor."
"But what he didn't expect was that, thanks to Elaine's command, the school did not descend into chaos, and his plan naturally failed."
"When one plan failed, Professor Snape, still determined, devised another. While we were all in the common room last night, he sneaked out to commit his crime, but he was no match for Fulwei and was instead falsely accused!"
"If not, how do you explain the injury on his leg?"
Elaine paused for a few seconds: "Uh—maybe he was hungry last night and suddenly had the urge to try dog meat?"
What?!
Eating dog meat?!
Harry and Ron were both stunned.
They never expected that Elaine would utter such a terrifying conjecture.
"Uh—that—although I don't think Professor Snape is a good person, but—it shouldn't be to this extent, right?"
'
"Eating dog meat is just too cruel."
"And even if we were to eat it, we shouldn't have chosen LVMH!"
Harry never imagined that he would one day defend Snape.
"In short, I think it's necessary to investigate what Snape is trying to steal."
Harry now finds everything about Snape displeasing; in his mind, everything Snape says or does must be malicious.
"So, what are you planning to do?" Elivin asked.
Harry voiced his earlier thought: "Hagrid brought that thing back, so maybe we can get some information from him. I'm planning to ask him sometime. It might not be too difficult, since Hagrid isn't always very tight-lipped."
Elaine nodded: "Yeah, that's a good idea. Let me know when you find out."
Harry was taken aback: "Aren't you going with us?"
"No, I have no interest in what Snape wants to do."
"Lately, I've been wanting to study music properly; who knows, maybe I'll discover some kind of musical magic in the future!"
