Chapter 186 It's better to have a Yorkshire pudding than to have you
As is well known, Hermione's two worst subjects are flying and divination.
She's probably the opposite of Elizabeth; Hermione really doesn't know how to handle these kinds of vehicles.
Hermione, who was unable to control her flying broom, thought she would be cut off from the sky for the rest of her life, but to her surprise, Hagrid's hippogriff saved her.
It's urgent and crucial, okay?
Hermione, soaring freely in the sky, experienced for the first time a feeling of boundless freedom that nothing could compare to.
This feels completely different from flying.
Humans are born with a longing and yearning for the sky, but being in a metal box and freely feeling the air are two completely different experiences. Hermione screamed and laughed happily; the last time she was this happy was the last time.
Hermione's face was flushed all the way down, as if she hadn't had enough fun.
"I can see you're really happy, Hermione," Hagrid said with a smile as he pulled her off the hippogriff and placed her on the ground.
Hermione smiled happily in return: "Of course, I've never thought I'd be able to fly around in the sky one day—not counting airplanes, of course."
Hermione's excitement took a long time to subside. She gazed at the giant creatures in front of her with rapt attention, still wondering when she could take another flight.
The lesson was a great success. Apart from Crabbe and Goyle, almost everyone gained the Hippogriff's approval and took a ride.
This time, even Draco had to change his opinion of Hagrid—at least the big guy's class wasn't as boring as he'd imagined, and... well, it was quite interesting, I refuse to admit it was!
Looking at the smiling Harry trio, Draco inexplicably became arrogant.
When Louis returned to his office after a day of classes, he found that Catherine's face was even more somber than it had been at noon.
"Still angry?" Louis asked with a chuckle.
Unexpectedly, Catherine pounced on him, pulling him into her arms and greedily inhaling his scent.
"What's wrong?" Louis asked, somewhat surprised. He had never seen Catherine so straightforward before.
Vitalie chimed in casually, "It's all because you took leave. Professor Lupin's Boggart incident... tsk tsk, Catherine was so scared she fainted..."
"Huh?" Louis looked down at Catherine, who still had her head buried in his chest, and asked in confusion, "What did she see? Did she faint? That can't be..."
He still couldn't quite believe what it was that could have scared Catherine into fainting.
"It's your corpse," Vitalie said gleefully. "I never imagined her Boggart would be that kind of thing...tsk tsk, love-struck woman..."
Before she could finish speaking, Christa covered her mouth with tape.
She could only struggle in vain, making whimpering noises, without being able to utter any sound.
"Alright, Boggart is fake, I'm perfectly fine, aren't I?" Louis ruffled Catherine's blonde hair, chuckling as he comforted her. It took a while before Catherine reluctantly left his embrace, giving Vitalie a cold glance. However, her slightly red and swollen eyes were hardly intimidating, and instead ruined the serious atmosphere.
Emerys delivered Ye Ziyan's letter, saying that Seris had some business to attend to and couldn't leave for a while, and would be back in some time. Louis didn't seem to care much, casually wrote "Understood" and asked Emerys to deliver it.
If Emerys knew that her owner made her run a errand just to deliver three words, she probably wouldn't be satisfied with a meal of mice.
Speaking of owls, Hermione's Amy and Crookshanks have been fighting a lot lately. That ginger-colored, round-faced cat has a rather sour temper and can't stand seeing her little owner with other cats outside... owls.
Crookshanks used to enjoy bullying Ron's Scabbers, but now he has no time for Scabbers. His greatest pleasure every day is to tease Amy until he kicks her out of her cage.
It only knew that it had won, but it didn't know that Amy had actually only come to deliver a message and was originally supposed to live in the owl's hut.
Louis took a two-week leave of absence, so Lupin temporarily took over his classes. Harry's mood had been sour ever since the first class, and it got even worse after he left Professor Lupin's office.
This long face persisted until the weekend, a weekend when everyone was heading to Hogsmeade, and it evolved to the point where he was practically dragging his senior brother along.
"Professor McGonagall, I... I don't know why, why won't they let me go to Hogsmeade Village?" Harry, his face flushed, shouted at Professor McGonagall, "I have a guardian's signature! Look, even my uncle agreed to let me go to Hogsmeade Village!"
"I'm sorry, child, but you are a high-priority protected individual by the Ministry of Magic, and Sirius Black is still at large. I can't let you take any risks." Professor McGonagall looked at Harry with pity. How could she possibly want to keep Harry confined at Hogwarts?
She really didn't want to be the villain.
Furious, Harry could only vent his anger at the Room of Requirement until he was completely exhausted.
When I came out, I happened to see Lu Ping.
"Would you mind talking to me, Harry?"
Regardless of what Harry and Lupin actually said, let's just talk about Hogsmeade.
As a professor, Louis was naturally allowed to go to the Three Broomsticks bar with Catherine.
September in Scotland is still quite frosty and dewy. The two entered the pub in the early morning chill.
The proprietress, Ms. Rosmerta, is a woman of enduring charm, unlike her character in the movie. She is more like Monica Bellucci from the Sicilian legend, with a mature charm that is only slightly inferior to that of Solanian.
Of course, Solanlian was also sitting in the bar.
Seeing Louis and Catherine walk in, Sollian went over, patted Catherine's head, kissed her cheek, then patted Louis's face and kissed the corner of Louis's lips with her own red lips.
This woman is so good at it.
"Is this your daughter? She's grown so much..." Mrs. Rosmerta exclaimed. "I must say, she's much prettier than you were when you were young."
"The Thames River flows on, the new generation surpasses the old; it's something to be happy about that my daughter is prettier than me." Solanlian gave Louis a captivating glance, but when she turned to Mrs. Rosmerta, her expression instantly turned serious: "This young gentleman is Emma's son."
"She looks just like her." Ms. Rosmerta chuckled as she prepared two glasses of juice. "The son of the 'Most Popular Woman' is also a 'Most Popular Woman,' but he's so devoted to your daughter. It seems your daughter is quite something."
"Of course, look who her daughter is." Solanlian looked extremely smug.
The two juniors simply greeted Ms. Rosmerta politely before sitting down in a private room. They really didn't want to talk to that old fox, Solanlian.
It should be said that those who don't want to be devoured by this honey pot will have nothing left but bones.
Seeking advantage and avoiding harm is Slytherin's instinct.
But they both forgot that trouble comes knocking on their door.
As the bar gradually filled with customers, the door to the private room was opened by Solanlian, who came in with a fragrant breeze and sat down next to Catherine.
"So, my precious daughter has been completely stolen away by you?" Solanlian glared at Louis, then turned to Catherine and questioned, "You haven't come home to keep this empty-nest old woman company all summer! I've really wasted my time raising you!"
"I'd rather have a Yorkshire pudding than you," Louis chimed in.
"Yes! I'd rather have given birth to a Yorkshire pudding than you!" Solanlian said, glancing at Louis out of the corner of her eye.
Louis felt a small foot resting on his leg.
"Hmph, I'm not going back every time I come home because you tease me. I have Mr. Deer now!" Catherine snorted, showing her defiance towards her not-so-old mother.
"Then I'm so heartbroken." Solanlian put on a sad expression. "If your Aunt Emma were alive, she would laugh at me if she saw you treating me like this."
"That's your own fault, Lian," Louis chimed in, never one to miss a chance for drama.
The mother and daughter bickered all morning, with Sollian ultimately emerging victorious.
Catherine angrily dragged Louis away from the Three Broomsticks pub, vowing that the next time she came to Hogsmeade, she would turn around and walk away if she saw Solarian.
It's better than being dealt with like this.
Louis had grown accustomed to the bickering between the mother and daughter whenever they met, and he now even wondered if their future Cassandras would end up like Catherine.
As for saplings, they won't grow straight if they're not pruned. We'll just have to teach them a lesson when the time comes.
When Harry returned to Hogwarts, he was completely withdrawn, sitting dejectedly in the Great Hall, looking like he didn't know who he was, where he was, or what he was supposed to do.
After seeing his friends return, Harry started to complain to them, subtly and veiledly criticizing Hogwarts for being too strict, then shifting the blame to the Ministry of Magic, which was quite unpleasant, and finally turning the blame to poor Sirius Black, with a very strong sense of malice.
"Why! Why did he betray my parents!" Harry was completely stunned, clutching his head and screaming wildly.
No one had any definite answers to comfort him; they could only stay by his side during this heartbreaking time.
Fortunately, Harry was carefree and quickly recovered. Young people are like that; sadness is only temporary, and once they vent, they feel better quickly.
When they turned back, they found the corridor and staircase in front of the Gryffindor common room crowded with people surrounding the portrait of the Fat Lady, but no one was going in.
"Why are they just standing here and not going in?" Ron asked, puzzled.
Harry looked past the crowd and saw that the portrait seemed to be closed.
"Please let me through." It was Percy's voice as he swaggered out of the crowd. "Why are you all blocking the way? Surely you're all like Neville who forgot the password—excuse me, I'm the student council president, please let me through—"
The crowd quieted down, starting from the front, so it was like a chill spreading through the corridor. They heard Percy's voice, which suddenly became shrill.
"Quickly—quickly go to the principal's office on the eighth floor and fetch Professor Dumbledore!"
The tone of those words had a hint of wanting to rush to the Western Paradise to invite the Buddha.
Louis was also in the crowd, and even with his height advantage, he was a little hard to see. He looked around and asked Ron, "How's your eyesight?"
"Oh? Hermione has the best eyesight, mine is just average," Ron said modestly, almost unconsciously.
"You want me to hug her? I have no problem with that." Louis shrugged.
Ron blushed; he certainly didn't want that womanizer Louis to hug Hermione. He quickly said, "Alright, then I have the best eyesight, what are you going to do?"
"Of course, I'm going to lift you up so I can see what's going on up front!" Louis said, exasperated.
Ron, who was being held up, had a good view and easily saw what had happened. He shouted, "My God, hell on earth! There are several scratches on the portrait of the Fat Lady... Oh my god, Harry..."
Louis put him down and saw Ron shaking Harry in horror: "Those scratches...it looks like a big dog, my God, do you remember your tea leaves?"
"Of course I remember... but this..." Harry was stunned. No matter how much he tried to deceive himself, he couldn't deny that the big black dog with tea leaves was coming true. The big dog was heading towards the Gryffindor common room, and it was obviously coming for him... almost certainly!
A moment later, Dumbledore arrived. He looked at the students with a serious expression, and they instinctively made way for him. Only then did they see clearly what had happened to the portrait of the Fat Lady—shards of canvas were scattered everywhere, and large pieces of the canvas had been completely torn from the frame. Dumbledore quickly glanced at the damaged painting and said to Professor McGonagall, "Professor McGonagall, please go to Filch immediately and tell him to look for the Fat Lady in every painting in the castle."
"You're in luck," a hoarse voice said above them. Everyone looked up and saw Pipi Ghost, singing and dancing in a way that was incredibly annoying.
After all, this guy is always looking for trouble, and seeing this scene, the fact that he didn't set off a few troublesome fireworks is the most restrained thing he could do.
"What do you mean by this, Peeves?" Professor Dumbledore asked expressionlessly.
Pippi immediately stood firm, his smile fading and replaced with a slightly obsequious grin. He said in a glib tone, "Oh, my dear Professor, of course I know where Madam Fat is. She's really terrified and is hiding in that landscape painting on the fifth floor, among the trees, my dear Professor."
"Poor thing," he added, but he didn't seem to feel any pity or sympathy whatsoever.
"Did she say who did it?" Dumbledore asked quietly.
Pippi the Ghost was extremely smug, chuckling, "Of course she said so. She wouldn't let him in, and he was furious, you know—he has a really bad temper, doesn't he? That Sirius Black…"
