Chapter 19 Leaves

"You think all I can do is burn flames?"

Catherine glanced at Louis. [For error-free chapter reading, search on Google.]

"Have you ever seen a house with a green fire?"

Louis asked the most hurtful question.

Catherine choked, raised her delicate chin, and gave a haughty snort.

"You go deal with the Fallen Wizard, these five Fallens are mine." While distributing the heads, Louis reminded Catherine, "Be careful, the Fallen Wizard's fireballs come very quickly."

"Mm." Senior Catherine nodded, and the two walked forward together.

Louis pulled out a gleaming crystal sword from his storage space, skillfully twirled it, and under Catherine's astonished gaze, holding a staff in his left hand and the sword in his right, he really did have the air of someone who was skilled in both magic and martial arts.

"Expelliarmus!" Louis's spell struck the nearest Fallen, sending its sword and shield flying into the air. The Fallen, still reeling, stared in confusion at its empty hands, scratching the back of its head with its right hand, and uttered a questioning sound: "Rakanishu?"

His last view was of a bright white expanse spinning and flying in mid-air. Even as he closed his eyes, he couldn't understand why he could see his body transformed into a fountain in its entirety.

Seeing their companion die so swiftly, the Fallen scattered like birds, ignoring the Fallen wizard's cries. Enraged, the wizard brandished his totem, sending a scorching orange-red fireball hurtling towards Louis.

"Protego!"

"*You have gained 5 points of Ironclad Charm proficiency."

What a shame, only five points... Louis thought he'd get at least 100 points.

Subsequently, the Fallen Wizard was blasted to pieces by Catherine's spell.

With only four Fallen Ones remaining, and given that they could only provide 1 point of spell proficiency, Louis could only tearfully send them back to hell one by one with a single sword strike.

The notification sound for mission completion rang out as the last Fallen One fell. Louis thought for a moment and chose the largest "Tir" rune.

"Runic rune: Tir: When inlaid on an item, it will have unexpected effects."

"Unlock new options in the House of Requirement: Another Dimension."

"Otherworld: After clearing the map reward objectives each time, the reward objective map can be solidified in the otherworld, which can be challenged an unlimited number of times. You will not truly die or suffer any real damage in the otherworld."

"Adventuring in other dimensions can sometimes yield unexpected rewards."

"Currently unlocked: Forbidden Forest Cave (Level 1)"

Louis immediately thought of Harry Ron and Draco. This Forbidden Forest cave that had just been cleared... seemed like a perfect place for young wizards to come in and go on an adventure.

"What are you standing here daydreaming about?" Catherine's voice snapped Louis out of his thoughts.

"It's alright." Louis was quite satisfied with his find. He chuckled and replied, "It seems we've reached the end of this cave. Shall we head back?"

"Then...where is the treasure?" The senior's slender phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, looking quite dangerous.

"Ah..." Louis was at a loss. He looked around and actually saw something that looked like a box. He pointed at it and said, "Isn't that it? Open it and take a look."

The senior student rolled her eyes at him, stepped forward, and lightly pointed her wand. Just as she was about to make a move, Louis quickly stopped her, saying, "Wait a minute!"

Under the questioning gaze of his senior, Louis slashed at the treasure chest with his crystal sword.

"It's alright, let's start now."

Catherine gave him a "Are you out of your mind?" look, but Louis's words weren't entirely unfounded—they already had elements of World of Warcraft and Diablo, what if a mimic from Dark Souls suddenly appeared and gave them a loving hug...wouldn't that be incredibly awkward?

The pain that Xiao Gao tormented is something most people can't understand.

The haul was pretty good: twenty Galleons, a huge diamond, a rune Tal, and a two-socket wand with a 30% faster casting speed.

The senior student wasn't interested in wands or runes, so she only chose the diamond that looked to be about twenty carats, giving the rest to Louis. Louis held the wand, and a sudden inspiration struck him.

He first inlaid the Tir he had just acquired, then stuffed in the Ral from the beginner's gift pack. Sure enough... the moment the Ral was inserted, the wand seemed to accelerate its growth process, sprouting a tender green bud at the tip and quickly growing into a bright green leaf.

Louis looked at the wand in his hand, a relieved expression on his face.

It really is you, Runeword, Leaf.

An achievement notification sounded simultaneously.

Forbidden Forest Cave (Normal Difficulty) (10)

*Clear the Forbidden Forest Cave (Normal Difficulty).

Did you know that runes are also a language? (Glorious Deeds)

*Successfully created a runeword.

*Achievement Reward: Two Mysterious Pet Eggs.

"What is this?" Catherine asked with great interest, noticing the change in the wand.

"It's made of runes... I found the inspiration in the family records. Why don't you give it a try?" Louis was always leaving things to his family, since no one would really delve into the matter.

You ask him what to do if his grandfather asks? Isn't that simple? Of course, you just pass the buck to Dumbledore.

The senior student took the wand from Louis. As soon as she held it, a warm current flowed slowly from the wand down her arm into her body, dispelling the frost of the night.

"That's amazing." The senior raised an eyebrow. "It seems to speed up my magic recovery—though not as fast as your birch sap, of course."

"That's not all," Louis chuckled as he introduced the wand to his senior. "This wand greatly enhances the power of fire spells, and it also provides additional bonuses to the spells 'Blazing Fire' and 'Thunderous Explosion,' and... it will also give your Ironclad Charm an extra 20% strength."

A flash of disbelief crossed Catherine's eyes. She questioned, "Impossible! How could a wand have such an effect—"

"Why don't you just give it a try?" Louis said, pursing his lips.

The senior student waved her wand, and a ghostly green fire dragon roared out.

"Stop! Stop right now!" Louis quickly stopped him. Just kidding, the fire dragon had already turned its head to look this way, and the intense heat made him tremble.

Catherine flicked her wand, and the fire dragon vanished without a sound.

Seeing that she still seemed unsatisfied, Louis quickly grabbed her wrist and shouted to stop her, "If you dare to set off a thunderclap explosion in the cave, I'll take you down with me..."

I've witnessed history. I hope Diana won't lock the door (laughs).

An era has ended, and it's still somewhat bittersweet. Little Louis asked if he could sit at the children's table if he were attending the banquet.
