Chapter 222 Little girl, how old are you?
Chapter 222 Little girl, how old are you?
When old friends haven't seen each other for many years, they always chat endlessly, especially when a friend you thought was dead suddenly "comes back to life" and appears in front of you, which will elicit warm greetings and inquiries from everyone.
This conversation went on until seven or eight o'clock in the evening, when Solanlian said she was hungry, and everyone realized that the sun was about to set.
In summer, especially in high-latitude regions like the Scottish Highlands, it's normal for it to get dark around 7 or 8 pm.
There was no time to cook dinner, since they had been chatting for so long. Aunt Molly was also at a loss for what to do, and Sirius Black didn't bring his annoying house-elf Kreacher. But Louis said there was no need to worry, he had already made preparations.
Louis brought his family and friends to the restaurant on the first floor, where he enthusiastically introduced them to the self-heating hot pot.
He unpacked the hot pot—it was all treated with chloroform, with no text on it, not even instructions. But no worries, at least Louis had eaten it before, so he was pretty familiar with it.
Louis opened the meat and vegetable packet and poured it into the box, along with the hot pot base. He added cold water to both layers. Embarrassingly, because he hadn't used it for a long time, he had forgotten to put in the heating pack. Emma reminded him, and he then remembered to open the heating pack and throw it into the bottom layer.
As they watched the white steam rising from the vent on the lid, everyone was filled with awe.
"Have Muggle food become this advanced?" Mr. Weasley asked with a look of awe, leaning back as he gazed at the still-steaming hot pot, seemingly eager to try it himself.
Louis pulled out a bunch of mini hot pots and handed them out to everyone: "There are tomato flavored ones and spicy ones. If you don't like spicy food, you can have the tomato one. Do you remember the steps?" Seeing everyone nod, he waved his hand: "Alright, everyone, let's get started."
Emma didn't clear the hot pot in front of her, but instead beckoned to Louis: "Good son, come with me."
Louis followed her out nervously, feeling a little guilty in front of his mother for some reason.
Emma went into the next room, closed the door, crossed her arms, and looked at Louis with a teasing gaze.
"I am your biological mother." Louis raised his hands in a French military salute—he was telling the truth.
Emma chuckled: "My son is so adept at giving a French military salute..."
Louis was speechless. "You're a Seresian, my god, how can you... how can you be so skilled at breastfeeding?"
However, it must be said that some of the jokes about France on the internet in later generations were contributed by the Seres, although not as many as by the British.
"Alright, stop making that face. If you weren't my son, I wouldn't have used magic to come to your side." Emma patted Louis's shoulder, smiling slyly. "I only called you here for one thing—do you have any snail rice noodles? I'm really craving them..."
She gave a pitiful look, clearly really craving it.
"Where were you from in your past life?" Louis asked curiously, having always suspected that his mother was a time traveler.
"Forget about Zhengmusi, this lifetime." Emma shook her head, seemingly seeing through Louis's thoughts, and chuckled, "I'm not a time traveler, I just read a novel called 'Harry Potter'."
"Then you...?" Louis was taken aback, unsure whether his mother was lying or telling the truth. "Where did you get this novel?"
"You're questioning your mother now? You brat!" Emma squinted, then quickly recovered. "When I was ten years old, I spent some time in a parallel world. Well, according to the Gregorian calendar, that would have been more than thirty years later... Okay, don't ask me that question anymore. Just tell me if it happened or not!"
Louis opened the door and called out, "Cromie!"
Chromie came running over with her short legs.
"Get me some snail rice noodles..." Louis said somewhat embarrassedly, "It's really kind of you, my mother is craving them."
This was the first time he felt embarrassed towards Chromie. It wasn't that he felt he was troubling Chromie, but rather that he felt that snail rice noodles were a bit... well, a bit like a biological weapon.
Chromie glanced at Louise, then at Emma, a hint of disdain in her eyes: "Why do you like eating this?"
Emma didn't speak, her cheeks slightly flushed as she looked to the side.
"Alright, I really can't do anything with you two, mother and son." Chromie reached into his pocket and pulled out more than ten bags of snail rice noodles: "I was originally planning to save them for when we got back to Azeroth for Her Majesty Ysera to smell—for Her Majesty Ysera to eat. Here, I'll share half with you now."
"What are you giving this to Isela for?" Louis asked curiously as he took the snail rice noodles.
Chromie sneezed: "She always loves to sleep. Those dream dragons—you know, Terral, Lethorn, Iselien, and Emerys—the four of them are all good friends of mine, but they always love to sleep and sometimes get haunted by nightmares. I wanted to try this to see if it could make them more energetic."
"I don't know if they're lucky or unlucky to have a friend like you." Louis shrugged and called Christa over to stay and cook snail rice noodles for his mother.
Why didn't he make a move? Good question. Mainly, Louis disliked the smell of this thing, and if someone suddenly came over, he wouldn't be able to explain himself clearly.
Chromie didn't stay either; she toddled away on her short legs.
Unfortunately, Emma grabbed Louis.
You little punk, trying to run away?
"My dear baby, are you just going to leave your dear mother like this?" Emma's eyes flashed with an unhappy light, not eerie, but very unhappy.
"Fine." Louis reluctantly took the small electric cooker from Christa and began cooking snail rice noodles for Emma.
"Is this one of your girlfriends?" Emma asked Christa with some curiosity.
Louis glanced at the blushing dragon maid and said with a smile, "Yes, that's right."
As a result, the dragon maid squatted on the ground, covering her flushed face with her hands, and steam began to rise from the top of her head like a small hot pot.
She truly hadn't expected that, as both a mount and a maid, she would actually receive a verbal title from Louis. She didn't ask for much; ever since learning of her fate in another timeline, she had been quite content with her current life…
Besides, it's impossible for Louis, who was both his savior and master, not to feel a little tempted.
"Oh, what a lovely little girl." Emma smiled and helped Christa up, taking her hand and asking, "Tell Auntie, how old are you this year?"
"Thirteen thousand four hundred and twenty-one years old, Auntie," Christa answered honestly.
Emma: ?
When I type a question mark, it's not that I have a problem, but that I think you have a problem.
"Your little girlfriend, isn't she...?" Emma turned to Louis and tapped her head with her finger.
The implied meaning is whether she has some mental health issues.
"She's not human, Mom, she's a dragon," Louis explained with a laugh. "Logically speaking, she's a magical creature, but a very advanced one, at least much more advanced than humans."
"I see. Then you shouldn't call me auntie anymore..." Emma looked at the "little girl" who looked to be over ten thousand years old in her hand with lingering fear, still unable to accept the truth.
Louis shrugged and began pouring in the pickled bamboo shoots.
"It's coming!" he shouted in a deep voice.
Christa looked up at Louis with a confused expression and saw him carefully opening a package as if it were some kind of biological weapon. He squeezed the contents into the pot, and soon, the little dish was served with a sizzling sound.
At that moment, she felt as if she had arrived at the Bluewing Habitat.
She hadn't smelled this scent more than a few times in over ten thousand years. Of course, this seemed to be the first time. This scent... was hard to describe. If she had to give an adjective, it would be a mix of fragrant and foul. Just one whiff of it made her feel a little homesick.
Immediately afterwards, Christa retched, nearly vomiting.
It seems that even dragons have their limits; at least the red dragon is quite averse to this taste.
"Okay, it seems you really can't get used to this taste." Louis patted his chest to catch his breath, poured the snail rice noodles into a bowl, casually cast a cleaning spell to dry the pot, and left the room as if fleeing after saying, "Mom, you can eat in this room."
Louis ran back to the restaurant, leaned against the wall, and gasped for breath, feeling a sense of relief at surviving the ordeal.
Even in his past life, he would have refused to accept this thing.
There are people who really love snail rice noodles, but there are also people who really can't get used to the taste, and they can't even stand the smell.
"What's wrong with you?" Bill asked curiously, looking at him. He was covered in sweat and hissing, clearly suffering from the spiciness of the hot pot.
But this did not slow down his cooking speed at all. After saying this, he picked up a mouthful of sweet potato noodles and slurped it into his mouth.
"My mom is eating snail rice noodles next door," Louis said calmly.
"Snail rice noodles?" Ye Ziyan's expression turned wary. "Why didn't you say so sooner if you had something this good?"
Well, another serious fan of snail rice noodles—this person probably ate it locally.
"Then go next door, there are more than a dozen bags, enough for you to eat." Louis pointed to the room next door where Emma was making noodles.
Ye Ziyan put down the small hot pot she hadn't even started yet, stood up, and walked outside. Seeing Ye Ziyan's actions, Solanlian also hurriedly put down her hot pot and followed her out.
A short while later, Solanlian returned with a calm expression.
"What's wrong, Sister Lian? Why aren't you going?" Louis asked knowingly.
"Oh, I don't like that kind of powdery food." Solanlian reached out and pinched Louis's little cheek before sitting back down in her seat.
Sirius saw Solarian return and stood up, preparing to go next door to see what Emma was eating.
A moment later, Louis heard a deafening "Ugh!" followed by a sharp shout: "Levicorpus!"
He shrugged, indicating that Sirius Black had once again received a "hands-down greeting" from his mother after more than a decade.
I don't know if he misses the fuchsia or not, but it seems he doesn't object to it.
……
After dinner, Louis returned to his bedroom and was about to rest with his girlfriends when he saw the door open and Emma's head peek in.
"Ziyan!" she called out.
"What's wrong, sister?" Ye Ziyan stopped taking off her clothes and turned to ask.
"Still calling me 'sister'? Didn't I tell you to call me 'mom'?" Emma said with a mischievous grin.
Ye Ziyan froze halfway. She turned her head and, knowing Emma's personality very well, knew that she had come here just to tease her.
She guessed right. Emma smiled and said, "I won't bother my daughter-in-law any longer," before closing the door and returning to Solanlian's room.
"I'm so angry!" Ye Ziyan snorted, furious but helpless.
"Alright, alright, are you going to stoop to her level?" Louis put his arm around her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "You know what kind of person my mom is. Plus, she's lost half her soul, so it's normal for her to act like a child. Just bear with it."
"I'm not angry." Ye Ziyan leaned her head on Louis's shoulder and whispered, "It's just that this can't go on. We can't let Sister Yu keep losing half of her soul..."
"Don't worry, there's always a way out." Louis patted her waist. Catherine, who had changed into pajamas, sat down next to Louis.
"Alright, lie down. These things can't be rushed. After all, we don't know where her other half of her soul is hiding." Louis rolled over and carried the two of them to the bed.
"Didn't you ask Chromie or Christa?" Catherine nudged Louis's leg with her foot.
Louis sighed: "I asked, and Chromie said it's not in the main world—at least not in the last two thousand years. She guesses it's probably in Heaven or Hell."
"That would be terrible," Ye Ziyan said in a low voice. "Angels and demons are both petty. Whichever side gets Sister Yu's soul, they probably won't return it to her easily..."
"If they don't give it to us, we'll kill them." A bloodthirsty glint ignited in Louis's eyes. "Once we get stronger, we'll fight our way to heaven. I'm going to grab Michael by the collar and make her teach her good-for-nothing brother Lucifer a lesson."
Ye Ziyan flipped over and straddled Louis, grabbing his collar and grumbling, "I think some people are the ones who really need to be disciplined... I've made a fool of myself in front of Sister Yu so many times, some people should bear historical responsibility!"
Unexpectedly, as soon as she finished speaking, she felt someone wrap their arms around her waist and heard Catherine's voice in her ear.
"How could I be left out of this, Aunt Liv?"
