I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 231 When the troublemaking Death Eaters run into Dumbledore

Chapter 231 When the troublemaking Death Eaters run into Dumbledore

The journey back was bustling with activity, everyone excitedly discussing today's match. Everyone agreed that it was the most exciting match since the Quidditch World Cup began, and that the Bulgarian team deserved honor despite their defeat—of course, the honor was limited to Krum, and most people thought that the other Bulgarian players were not so honorable.

Krum needs to be careful; he can't afford to develop a primal resentment, or his fans will become a breeding ground for corruption, and his reputation will suffer.

Back at their lodgings, no one wanted to sleep. George suggested going to a nearby stall to buy some snacks, which everyone agreed to. Dumbledore eagerly expressed his desire for a cup of hot cocoa milk.

"It's really too cold at night. I hope you can understand that an old man's health is not good." Dumbledore said, sniffling.

He was probably faking it; Louis didn't believe he was afraid of the cold. He was just craving something sweet.

He wasn't the only one with a craving; Emma clearly couldn't sit still when she heard there was hot cocoa milk to drink.

Indeed, who wouldn't want a cup of hot cocoa milk?

While snacking, everyone enthusiastically discussed today's match, seemingly very satisfied, unanimously agreeing that it was a visual feast.

Louis felt like he had forgotten something important, but after thinking for a long time he couldn't remember what it was, so he simply gave up and stopped thinking about it.

While they were eating, they were still having a heated discussion. Charlie was arguing with his father, Mr. Weasley, about whether it was a foul to run someone over. The two of them were red in the face and their necks were thick with anger. Neither of them was willing to give in. In the end, it ended when Ginny fell asleep and spilled all the hot cocoa on the floor. Only then did Mr. Weasley order everyone to go to sleep and go home the next morning.

It was still noisy outside, but Louis's house was so well-built that you couldn't hear the noise at all. Ron and Harry lay in bed, still reliving the game, clearly not going to sleep.

Harry was absolutely thrilled. His mind was filled with Krum's Lansky feint. He desperately wanted to ride on his own broomstick and try it out himself. He could almost picture himself wearing a robe with Krum's name on the back, representing England in the World Cup, imagining himself hearing 100,000 fans chanting his name, and Ludo Bagman's voice echoing throughout the stadium: "The trophy is yours, Potter!"

In the twins' room, neither of them was asleep. The room was as bright as day, but it was also glittering with gold—piles of gold coins were stacked in the room. The Weasley twins sat on either side of the gold coins, counting them incessantly. They were extremely excited and had no intention of sleeping at all. They wouldn't stop until they had counted all the gold coins in front of them.

It should be noted that they already knew exactly how many gold coins they had, but they still felt they had to count them all to feel satisfied.

Louis was reading in his room, a book on arcane magic given to him by Chromie, by Magna Aegwynn. Catherine sat beside him, while Ye Ziyan sat on the other side, keeping him company as he read, creating a scene reminiscent of a beautiful woman adding to the ambiance.

It's not necessarily a good thing that the house was too soundproof; no one noticed that the lively noise outside had turned into a horrified cacophony.

Outside, people scattered like madmen across the camp, seemingly trying to escape something moving toward them. The thing glowed strangely and made loud, gun-like banging noises. Loud jeers, maniacal laughter, and drunken shouts followed, then a flash of bright green light illuminated the entire camp.

A group of wizards huddled together, each pointing their wands upwards, slowly moving forward across the field. These people seemed to have no faces... well, they wore hoods and masks over their heads.

Above their heads, four struggling figures floated in the air, twisted into various bizarre shapes, as if the masked wizards on the ground were puppeteers, while those above them were marionettes controlled by invisible strings emerging from their wands.

Suddenly, someone shouted "Death Eaters!" and the entire camp erupted in chaos. The wizards wished they had two more legs and ran frantically into the woods.

Meanwhile, Louis and his group were fast asleep, except for Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

The two old men went downstairs and found their way to the restaurant, intending to grab a bite to eat.

Just then, the Death Eaters arrived at the edge of the building.

"Why is there a building here?" a woman's voice asked.

The masked Death Eater beside her chuckled eerily, "They seem to be some wealthy wizard. Why don't we go in and take a look, borrow some money from them, and contribute our modest efforts to our master's great cause?"

"Alright, Dorfin, Selwin, you two go and take a look," a male voice commanded from behind.

Two Death Eaters, dressed in black robes and wearing skull masks, walked to the door, exchanged a glance, cast a lock-picking spell, and pushed the door open, just in time to see two old men who were about to go back upstairs.

Dumbledore, with a macaron still in his mouth, turned around to look at the two uninvited guests when he heard the door open behind him.

There was no way around it; Dumbledore was simply too iconic-looking. In the wizarding world, he was known to everyone from Ireland to the Khitan. The moment he turned around, the two Death Eaters recognized him.

"Sorry to bother you," the two said quickly, then turned and slipped away with lightning speed.

Dumbledore hadn't quite grasped it yet; he felt the attire in front of him looked very familiar, but couldn't quite place where he'd seen it before.

However, one thing is certain: the person wearing this outfit is definitely not a good person.

"Are all British dark wizards this rude?" Grindelwald looked at Dumbledore and posed a profound question.

Dumbledore shrugged, indicating that this was the first time he had ever seen such an impolite dark wizard.

They didn't even say hello, that's so rude... When we get back to school, we'll definitely have to give Slytherin a lot of points deducted!

The Death Eater leader hadn't gone far when he saw Selwyn and his companion return. He asked, displeased, "What's wrong with you two? Why are you back so soon?"

The two Death Eaters were panting heavily, their foreheads covered in cold sweat. Selwyn stammered, "Deng, Deng, Deng... Deng..."

"What? Can you just say it?" the Death Eater leader asked, frowning. "If you don't tell me, I'll see for myself."

His "see for yourself" means to capture the mind and thoughts.

"It's Dumbledore!" Dorfin replied quickly. "We saw Dumbledore in that house! Damn it, the intelligence was wrong! Dumbledore is actually here!"

"What? Are you sure?" The Death Eater leader was still somewhat skeptical.

"I'm a Hogwarts graduate, you tell me, do you think I don't know Dumbledore!" Dolphin said, then vanished in a puff of black smoke.

The Death Eaters exchanged glances; they were all afraid of death. They sent a signal to the sky to retreat, and then turned into black smoke and scattered in all directions.

A person's name is like a tree's shadow. Dumbledore is like the best medicine to stop a child's night crying in the Death Eaters' house. Now that the Dark Lord has not been resurrected, only a fool would choose to go head-to-head with Dumbledore.

The two old men inside the house exchanged a glance, feeling that the two black wizards were very strange. So they pushed open the door to take a look, and just then they heard a spell coming from the woods.

"Morsmordre!" (The bones reappear!)

A strong green light burst forth from the forest and soared into the sky. The thing was an enormous skeleton, with a huge python emerging from its mouth like a tongue. The skeleton rose higher and higher, emitting a dazzling light in a cloud of green smoke, which, against the backdrop of the dark night sky, looked like some kind of performance art.

"It's the Dark Mark. The wizard from earlier must have been a Death Eater." Dumbledore said gravely, drawing his wand. He then said to Grindelwald, "Go and wake everyone up. I'll dispel this thing."

A series of terrifying screams erupted from the woods. The Dark Mark was truly horrifying; everyone recognized its ominous nature. Most of the adult wizards present had lived through the horrific era when Voldemort ruled the British wizarding world, and none of them were unaware of what the mark represented.

Dumbledore pointed his wand to the sky, and a blue halo, like an atomic bomb explosion, rapidly spread out from the center of Dumbledore's wand. At the same time, a huge, elegant phoenix flew out from the tip of his wand and rushed straight toward the Dark Mark in the sky.

The Dark Mark, like snow melting in the sweltering heat of midsummer, vanished without a trace the instant it touched the Patronus, the phoenix. Someone looked up and saw the iconic Patronus, letting out a cry of exhilaration, like a thirsty person finding a lake in the desert: "Dumbledore! It's Dumbledore!"

People in the forest looked up and, through the gaps in the trees, all of them saw the guardian phoenix shimmering with blue and white light.

Immediately afterwards, a burst of enthusiastic cheers erupted in the forest. Everyone was no longer as chaotic as before, like headless flies. Dumbledore's appearance instantly gave them a sense of direction.

Dumbledore is here! And there is justice! Dumbledore is here! Salvation is here!

The blue and white phoenix circled in the sky for a long time, and to the delight of the wizards, it actually spoke.

"Please leave here in an orderly manner. The Ministry of Magic staff will investigate the truth behind this riot shortly."

No one knows where Dumbledore is now, but everyone is absolutely certain that Dumbledore's appearance signifies the failure of this Death Eaters' operation. At this time, the Dark Lord has not yet been resurrected, and the Death Eaters would never dare to confront Dumbledore head-on.

The wizards were reassured and began to leave in an orderly fashion, calling to their companions.

At this moment, Louis also came down from the second floor. He finally remembered what he had forgotten—noisy. He had actually forgotten about such an interesting large-scale team building activity for Death Eaters. He really shouldn't have done that.

It seems that Dumbledore has already resolved this mess, and the commotion here shouldn't have caused any major problems.

Soon everyone had gathered downstairs, and then officials from the Ministry of Magic surrounded the area.

"Surrounding" might not be the most appropriate word. In any case, Fudge, who was leading the group, looked rather unhappy, or rather, conflicted. On the one hand, he was unwilling to accept that Dumbledore had once again boosted his reputation, which was undoubtedly a blow to his prestige. On the other hand, Dumbledore had solved an extremely difficult problem for him, and now he didn't know whether he should be happy or upset.

Standing next to Fudge was Barty Crouch, whose expression was also very serious, his neat little mustache twitching, and he didn't look very happy.

"The mark...yes, I saw the mark!" Mr. Weasley rushed down the stairs, dressing as he muttered, "Where did the mark come from? Where did it come from? Who saw it?"

"Over there," Dumbledore said, pointing to the woods, "but if they weren't stupid, they would have run away by now."

The wizards in the Ministry of Magic had absolute faith in Dumbledore's words—no way, how could the greatest white wizard of the time lie like that? They all raised their wands, turned around and aimed at the woods, squinting as they peered into the dark thickets.

A moment later, the woods began to rustle, and then a wizard emerged from the bushes—his figure was indistinct, but his outline suggested he was carrying something.

"Stupefy!" More than twenty wizards shouted in unison, and a series of dazzling flashes appeared. The dark figure saw the red lights and quickly lowered its head to avoid the spells.

"My God! Are you all insane?!" the voice shouted. "Damn it, I'm Amos Diggory! Can't you guys be a little less rude? Merlin's beard... If I hadn't reacted quickly, you would have murdered me!"

He strode over, and then everyone could see what he was carrying—a house-elf.

"I found a person in the woods, and it was holding a wand," Amos shouted. "No, I should say a house-elf."

He walked over and placed the little elf in front of Barty Crouch.

Mr. Crouch stood motionless, his eyes fixed on Sparkle lying on the ground, as if he were about to breathe fire. The officials from the Ministry of Magic all stared at Mr. Crouch, and for a long time he didn't make any move, as if time had frozen.

After a long pause, he came to his senses and said, slowly and deliberately, "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

He quickly bypassed Mr. Diggory and strode off in the direction Mr. Diggory had just run from.
