Chapter 232 Catherine: The Little Deer Who Never Grows Up
Chapter 232 Catherine: The Little Deer Who Never Grows Up
Everyone formed a circle, and the reason for Crouch's outburst was obvious to everyone—after all, Mr. Diggory had added after Crouch rushed out, "That's your little elf, Sparky!"...
You could say he's quite the sixth-best.
No one reminded him that there was definitely no one there anymore.
Even a fool could figure it out: who would stay put after doing something bad? There are only two possibilities: either the person who did the wrong thing has intellectual problems, or they don't care at all about being discovered.
Louis whistled: "It looks a little awkward."
"Who says otherwise?" the bolder twins said in unison behind him. They didn't care about Crouch at all; he was just a bureaucrat from the Ministry of Magic. They weren't like Percy, who was blinded by greed. It would be strange if they were afraid of Crouch.
After this commotion, no one wanted to stay any longer. Apart from Harry's trio who loved watching the excitement and Dumbledore who had to stay, everyone gradually prepared to go back.
"Let's go to my place," Solanlian suggested. "My house is quite big; it can comfortably accommodate all of you—of course, Severus can share a room with Sirius if he wants."
Snape and Sirius exchanged a glance, their expressions clearly showing mutual dislike.
"I strongly demand that we contact Moonface," Sirius protested, raising his hand.
"Is it because you're afraid to face me alone? I've heard that your blood is an excellent warding potion in Seris..." Snape said sarcastically, a look of disgust on his face.
Louis was stunned for a moment, not immediately catching the joke.
It was Ye Ziyan who quietly told him in his ear that black dog blood was for exorcising evil spirits, and only then did Louis realize what Snape was talking about.
Goodness, I never knew the professor had a penchant for the occult.
After parting ways with the Weasleys, Louis and his group returned to Solarian's house. Of course, Sirius couldn't possibly share a room with Snape; it was already a miracle that the two of them didn't throw the Cruciatus Curse at each other without Emma in the house.
The next morning, when Louis went downstairs, he saw Sirius looking haggard, and Professor Snape with surprisingly smooth hair.
"Professor, did you wash your hair?" Louis asked hesitantly.
Snape glanced at him but didn't say anything more. The reason he was washing his hair was because the shampoo wasn't from the Potter family, but from Seris.
Sirius didn't mock him; instead, he sat to the side, absentmindedly tapping his fingers on the table, seemingly waiting for his meal.
But then again, it's true that Professor Snape washing his hair was already a big improvement, so it's understandable that Sirius was being lenient, since he's not a masochist and doesn't like the smell of oily hair.
To Louise's surprise, Harry, Harry, and their friends walked in at that moment.
"How could they treat her like that!" Hermione's face was still contorted with anger. "Mr. Diggory kept calling her 'little imp,' and Mr. Crouch, he knew perfectly well she didn't do it, yet he still fired her! He didn't care how scared or upset she was—he didn't treat her like a human being at all!"
"Cough cough, she wasn't human to begin with..." Ron argued in a low voice.
Hermione immediately lashed out at Ron like a shark smelling blood: "That doesn't mean she has no feelings, Ron! They're disgusting, and you...you're defending them..."
At this moment, Ron was thinking about many things. He had experienced the Big Bang, the collapse of the supernova, and witnessed the development of humanity. Finally, he remembered what Louis had once told him.
"I'm sorry, Hermione, I admit my thinking was a bit selfish. You're right, protecting the rights of house-elves is of utmost urgency!" Ron said seriously. "And I'm willing to follow you, Hermione, let's do it!"
Hermione paused for a moment, seemingly surprised that her boyfriend would say such a thing. She asked, somewhat bewildered, "You mean...you support me?"
"Of course I support you! A kind and intelligent girl like you, when you're standing up for justice for the house-elves, isn't that also a form of resistance against the oppression of the old order? As your boyfriend, I will always stand by your side." Ron pressed his hand to his chest and said with conviction.
Hermione blushed, lowered her head, and stammered, "I... I'm not actually that good..."
"Go ahead and don't worry, Hermione, I'll always support you!" Ron put his hands on her shoulders and looked at her intently.
Hermione smiled shyly, then looked at Harry: "And what about you, Harry? Will you support me?"
Harry was clearly caught off guard by Ron's sudden outburst of self-confidence. He looked blankly at Hermione, grinned, and nodded, saying, "Oh yeah, yeah..."
Hermione paused, then turned to Louis: "Louis, you'll support me too, won't you?"
"Louis? Louis is an eagle soaring high, his heart filled with the vastness of the land." Catherine came out carrying a plate of bacon: "I think you're Nikita Sergeyevich burping, you've eaten too much corn on the cob, actually preaching your anti-exploitation ideas to the exploiters of the exploiting class..."
"What eagle?" Louis thought to himself. "I'm clearly a harmless little deer."
"This kind of thinking is too reactionary!" Louis interjected. "Aren't you crazy? A hundred years ago, that would have been a capital offense!"
"Reactionary?" Hermione laughed in exasperation. "You're the reactionary one!"
"Thank you for the compliment." Louis smiled and continued to sit with his legs crossed, looking down at his newspaper, behaving like the head of the household.
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about this anymore." Ron tried to smooth things over. "Can anyone tell me what that thing that appeared today was? It scared people like that... I asked Dad before, but he wouldn't tell me, saying things like 'don't pry into other people's business'..."
"Let me tell you, Ron." Hermione quickly switched to her electronic reading mode. "This is the symbol of the Mystic, Ron. I read about him in 'The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts.'"
"It's been thirteen years since I've seen it." Solarian came out of the kitchen, warmly inviting everyone to sit down and eat. As she passed Louis, she bent down and kissed him on the cheek. After giving Emma a defiant look, she continued, "After so many years of peace, people thought they had escaped Voldemort's shadow. Now it has reappeared in the world. I believe that at that moment, people remembered the fear of being dominated by Voldemort..."
"It's just a shadow, what's the big deal? Is Voldemort going to suddenly appear?" Ron said, frowning. "After all, it's just something floating in mid-air. I think you guys are a bit... a bit... yes, like frightened birds, isn't that right?"
"I didn't expect you to know Seresian proverbs." Louis glanced at Ron in surprise.
Ron gave Louis a smug look and a triumphant smile.
"You're really fearless, Ron," Sirius chuckled gently, explaining to Ron, "Back in Voldemort's time, every time he and his followers killed someone, they would summon a Dark Mark like this in the air..." He paused, then continued, "You're too young to understand that kind of fear. Imagine you go home and find the Dark Mark hovering above your house. Do you know what you'd see if you went inside? That's the most terrifying thing."
Hermione looked up and thought for a moment, then involuntarily shuddered.
"Are you scared?" Ron asked.
"Scared?" Sirius laughed, revealing a mouthful of white teeth. "I'm a Gryffindor, young man..."
Snape, standing to the side, let out a disdainful "T."
"That Professor Snape who's making that 't' sound was a loyal Death Eater back in the day," Sirius explained to them. "That's why we always disliked him back then."
Snape's face darkened, but he offered no explanation.
There's not much to say in the argument. Everyone in this room knows he used to be a Death Eater. Even Harry, Harry, and his friends know that Professor Snape once sided with Voldemort, but he simply switched sides in time.
"Death Eaters? What are Death Eaters?" Harry asked innocently.
"That's what Voldemort's followers call themselves. These Death Eaters today are probably remnants from back then." Sirius shrugged. "You know, some pure-blood families are Voldemort's loyal followers. They're rich, so they can tell a harmless lie, pay a large sum of money to the Ministry of Magic, and escape punishment."
"Lying? Would anyone believe that?" Hermione also acted very naively.
Louis put down his newspaper and gave them a gentle smile: "You're all still too naive, too simple-minded... Sometimes you need to get dressed... If I said I was controlled by Voldemort with the Imperius Curse, which is why I was forced to side with him, how would the Ministry of Magic prove that?"
"Truth Potion!" Hermione exclaimed immediately. "Isn't it said that after taking Truth Potion, you can prove whether he's telling the truth or lying?"
“You’re right, Hermione,” Louise said with a chuckle. “But here’s 20,000 Galleons. I’d like to exchange it for a fake Veritaserum, is that alright?”
"Oh, this..." Hermione was stunned.
After a moment, she asked again, "Don't the news report these things? Like the Daily Prophet, or other newspapers?"
"Do you think this information will get to other people's ears?" Louis asked rhetorically.
"The Ministry of Magic has blocked this information?" Hermione asked incredulously.
Unexpectedly, Louis held up a finger and wagged it, saying with a smile, "You're wrong, Hermione. Banning is not our way. Our general principle is to decide not to publish after democratic deliberation."
Hermione: A big question mark popped into her little head.
What's the difference between that and a ban? Fine, all of you playing politics have dirty minds.
She sat there dejectedly, like a defeated rooster, not even noticing when Solanlian handed her a piece of roasted tomato.
Louis elegantly cut a piece of tomato with his knife, forked it, and placed it on Emma's plate, who was sitting opposite him.
"I won't eat this," Emma refused Louis's filial piety offer.
"Then what will you eat? Being a picky eater isn't a good habit." Louis tried to get his mother, whose mental age was only three, to accept the roasted tomato. "It's very nutritious. Eating some of this first thing in the morning is healthy."
"No! I want fried dough sticks! I want tofu pudding! I want soy milk!" Emma shook her head wildly like Pochi Sauce, clearly showing her resistance.
"But there's nowhere to get it for you right now, my dear mother." Louis was at a loss and could only look to Solanlian for help.
Solanlian mouthed silently, "Watch me."
Then she slammed the plate on the table, startling Emma. She snapped, "Eat it or don't! This is all you have! If you don't want it, make it yourself!"
"Fine, I'll eat it..." Emma said, feeling wronged, picking up her fork and reluctantly putting the tomato into her mouth.
"Good girl, this is a good baby." Solanlian took out a napkin and gently wiped Emma's mouth. Emma's eyes narrowed with satisfaction.
Louis sighed and turned to look at Catherine.
Catherine, imitating Solanlian, took a napkin and wiped Louis's mouth. After wiping it, she whispered in his ear, "You're such a child, little deer."
"So, sister, do you like this child?" Louis whispered in her ear.
"Of course I love it, I'll love it forever," Catherine said, giving Louis a kiss on the cheek.
Hermione chuckled, seemingly overwhelmed by the dog food (a Chinese slang term for public displays of affection), while Harry simply put his knife and fork on the table, rubbed his stomach, and looked at Louise with an expression that said, "I'm full from eating dog food."
Catherine narrowed her phoenix eyes and coldly glanced at the trio. The trio immediately and tactfully picked up their knives and forks and continued to enjoy their breakfast.
Seriously, they think we're nothing just because they're not showing their teeth. If this were in first grade, do you think the trio would dare to act so cocky with Catherine?
"Alright, now that we've finished eating, what are your plans?" Louis swallowed the food in his mouth and asked slowly, "You guys aren't going to just waste your vacation like this, are there any places you'd like to go?"
The three exchanged a glance and said in unison, "We really don't."
"Think about it again, this might be a good option." Louis winked, giving the three little ones a frantic hint.
"So how do you want us to have it?" Hermione asked hesitantly.
Louis slapped the glass across his face. He felt a cold glint in the eye behind his neck—it was Emma's gaze. She probably already knew that her son wanted to distance himself from her.
"You two shouldn't have it," Louis said weakly. I really don't want to think about the consequences.
He was a bit depressed, so how did he suddenly get a mother? Was he unhappy with those lawless days?
