I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 264 Before the Match Begins

Ron had never seen Hermione so passionate and unrestrained before. He just stared blankly at Hermione, who was so close to him, and didn't realize what was happening for a long time.

The students in the auditorium were stunned, but after regaining their composure, they gave the couple a warm round of applause.

In this way, all the rumors about Hermione and Harry magically disappeared as if they had evaporated, and were replaced by praise for the relationship between Hermione and Ron.

There's this talk of unwavering love, the idea that one should marry Hermione, and some people even say Ron just got lucky.

Ron didn't care about these rumors. As a model husband, he only cared about Hermione's happiness.

He's completely captivated by Hermione now, following her around every day on SPEW's business—that string of characters is the abbreviation for the House-Elf Protection Society...

If Louise hadn't reminded him, Ron probably would have completely forgotten about protecting Harry.

When I had dinner with Patchouli that evening, I overheard her talking about the library.

Speaking of the library, one can't help but mention Hermione, a frequent visitor who can be seen almost every day, and who gets along quite well with Patchouli. But Patchouli specifically mentioned Viktor Krum's name, her face full of annoyance when she did—not because Viktor Krum caused trouble for anyone, but because he himself was trouble.

Groups of girls would often hide behind the bookshelves to spy on him, making quite a bit of noise, which made it hard for her to concentrate on reading.

"Ugh! He's not good-looking at all!" Patchouli complained angrily to Louise. "I don't think they really like him, at least not because of his looks—good heavens, he looks like a bear... Ugh, I think these girls only go near him because he's famous, if he hadn't been up to that shady business of stealing chickens—"

"It was a feint by Lonski!" Elizabeth said through gritted teeth. In her eyes, Quidditch was sacred and inviolable, and an amateur like Patchouli, spouting Quidditch terminology, was simply unforgivable...

"Mm-Q, it was Lansky feinting," Patchouli corrected immediately. She put her teacup on the table, rested her chin on her hand, and sighed. "Can't they just read quietly? I mean... at least be a little more reserved and not make any noise. It's so rude, Mm-Q..."

"You can't stop them from swooning, Patsy," Catherine said casually. "For these idle, mediocre people, only this kind of fanatical obsession can kill their boundless energy."

“That’s fair.” Hermione nodded quickly. “Catherine is right. I’ve been in quite a bit of trouble too… Ever since that Rita Skeeter beach… after that lady wrote about me at length in the Daily Prophet, my life has changed drastically… Some of the Beauxbatons girls look at me like I’m their enemy, and they’re always hurling insults at me, but I haven’t done anything to them… Ron even got put in solitary confinement for standing up for me and teaching them a lesson…”

That's why Ron didn't come to dinner tonight. He's still helping Mr. Filch clean the house, on Professor McGonagall's orders. As expected, she also deducted five points from Gryffindor.

But it was obvious to everyone that Professor McGonagall was very happy. She even praised Ron highly in front of the Beauxbatons who had been reprimanded, leaving Ron confused but also somewhat pleased, at least he had refused Louis's offer to take him away.

Filch also assured Ron that he wouldn't make him do any hard or tiring work, and that he would still give Louis face.

To be fair, Mr. Filch isn't as annoying as he seems now, at least not in the eyes of his Gryffindor classmates.

"Hermione, I should explain something to you." Louis crossed his arms and began to speak slowly under Hermione's expectant gaze. "When one ugly pig is praising another ugly pig, it will not hesitate to praise it, because it knows that no matter how much it praises it, it is still essentially a pig, and is the same kind as itself. Praising it is also praising itself."

"When an ugly pig comments on a beautiful pig, the ugly pig will emphasize the beautiful pig's shortcomings while secretly aiming to become the beautiful pig someday... But when a pig comments on a peacock, it knows clearly in its heart that it and the peacock don't even belong to the same species, and that it can never become the peacock. So it will speak vehemently, become hysterical, and constantly wish misfortune upon the peacock..."

"Oh, Louise!" Hermione exclaimed, her hands cupping her heart, a radiant smile on her face. "So, in your heart, I'm a peacock..."

"If you could be less controlling of Ron, you could still live up to the image of the peacock," Louis said, raising his glass to Hermione.

Without saying a word, Hermione picked up her cup and made a toast with Louis, downing it in one gulp.

"Let's talk about SPEW, Louis..."

Hermione was interrupted by Louise halfway through her sentence.

"We can talk about that later. Let's have a happy chat over dinner. We'll be starting our first project in a few days... Harry, how's your preparation going?" Louis turned to look at Harry beside him.

Draco, sitting next to Harry, pulled out the "Potter Stinking Shit" badge pinned to his chest and grinned at Louis.

"Oh...oh..." Harry said somewhat awkwardly, "I...I don't know how well I'm prepared, I'm a bit confused, and I don't even know what the first event will be...Oh my god, will I be able to do well in the competition? Sigh..."

At this point, Harry felt a sudden tremor run through him; that feeling of panic was so familiar—just like before his first Quidditch match. Louis patted him on the shoulder and laughed, saying, "Don't worry, even a worm can emerge from its cocoon. I've watched you grow up; you can definitely do it… This Triwizard Tournament is your stage to become a butterfly and soar freely through the air!"

"But I...I..." Harry was touched, yet also uncertain. "Can I really do it?"

"Of course you can, believe in yourself, Harry." Louis patted him on the back.

"And what about me? What about me, Louis?" the explosives genius Seamus asked excitedly. "Can I turn into a butterfly someday too?"

Louis's face darkened: "Not all insects can turn into butterflies; some are just maggots..."

Simo: ...

Good grief, so I'm a maggot, huh?

He suddenly became withdrawn.

After dinner, Hermione took out a notebook and started scribbling. Louis glanced at it; it contained the SPEW membership list, with his, Ron's, and Harry's names on it—yes, there were only a few people in the entire association. Hermione Granger was the president, Louis Mountbatten was the vice president, Ron was the executive secretary, and Harry was the treasurer.

Hermione had originally invited Catherine, but Catherine declined—not because Catherine had any issues with Hermione, but because she had considerable reservations about the association itself.

God knows how much she wished a house-elf could share her burdens when she was exhausted from cooking for her mother since she was a child.

"Why did you invite my little deer into your so-called association?" Catherine looked at the notebook in Hermione's hand with a complicated expression. "Don't you think his background is questionable and might affect the purity of your association?"

"Huh? Why do you say that?" Hermione looked at Catherine, puzzled, wondering why Catherine had suddenly brought this up. "Isn't he your boyfriend? How can you say that about him?"

"That's too lenient a statement," Catherine said, arms crossed. "This guy is a member of the largest feudal landowning family in all of England. In other words, he's part of the highest tier of the exploiting class. You actually think he'd genuinely stand with you to protect the interests of house-elves? Or even liberate them?"

"Hehehe, Little Moon, how dare you talk like that!" Louis grabbed Catherine. "Can't a crocodile shed a couple of tears? Can't I be an enlightened aristocrat?"

Catherine looked at his head, then at his feet, and her lips twitched downwards: "I'd rather believe there are no ghosts in this world."

Louis felt a sudden pang of heartache. His hand trembled as he pointed at Catherine, "You...you just wait..."

……

The consequences of Louis's anger were naturally very serious, but how serious... well, that's something that can't be explained in detail.

Based on Lewis's observations over the past few days, the fates of the heroes varied. Harry, for example, had a group of loyal friends by his side, and Gryffindor members were also his staunch supporters, so his life was relatively comfortable. Cedric was the same; this gentle and cheerful young man was very popular in Hufflepuff, and wherever he went, he was surrounded by a circle of staunch supporters, and they were quite enthusiastic.

As for Catherine… well, no one dared to surround her with the same support they had for Harry and Cedric. Occasionally, someone would cheer her on as she passed by, and Catherine, of course, wouldn't pretend not to see them, but would politely and appropriately smile and greet them. Over time, she did manage to gain a group of followers.

Viktor Krum was the same; as Patchouli said, he was always surrounded by a group of infatuated girls—but Patchouli was clearly being conservative. Many male Quidditch enthusiasts were just as enthusiastic, following him around like stalkers. And Krum wasn't just supported by his supporters; his headmaster, Karkaroff, also favored him greatly.

In contrast, Vasily Petrenko was rather depressed. He was ignored by everyone, his classmates all fawned over Krum, Karkaroff only had eyes for Krum, and even many students at Hogwarts were fans of Krum, while Vasily only had himself.

The two girls from Beauxbatons were in an even more awkward position. Compared to Krum, Beauxbatons didn't even publicly support the two girls. They all looked at them with deep resentment, as if they were their father's killers—presumably because they felt that Marilyn and Fleur had taken their place.

Days passed by quickly, time always seemed to speed up unexpectedly, as if an accelerator had been put into motion. Before we knew it, it was the day before the first project was to begin.

At dinner time, Harry was seen rushing into Lewis's office, followed by a bewildered Cedric.

"Louis," Harry greeted, then looked around but couldn't find Catherine, so he asked, "Where did Catherine go?"

"Oh, you mean Catherine..." Louis scratched his head. "Catherine went to the library and will be back in about ten minutes... What's wrong with you guys?"

"Let's talk about it when Catherine gets back." Harry took a couple of breaths, then suddenly looked up and asked, "Have you eaten?"

"I haven't eaten yet," Louis said, shrugging. "I'm waiting for Catherine to come back so we can eat together."

"Let's eat together then," Harry suggested. "Cedric and I haven't eaten yet either. We just finished class, so I stopped him and called him over."

"I had no idea what was wrong with you," Cedric said gently, "but since you seemed to be in such a hurry, I came along."

As they were talking, Catherine pushed open the door and walked in. When she saw Harry and Cedric sitting on the sofa, she looked at Louis with a puzzled expression.

"Don't look at me, those two came over and said they have something important to discuss with you," Louis said, spreading his hands. "I'm completely in the dark about it too..."

Harry wasn't in a hurry at this point. He was writing down what he wanted to eat that night on the coffee table, and he didn't look up immediately. Instead, he tapped the corner of the table after finishing writing before raising his head: "I received a message from Hagrid last night. He said he needed to talk to me about something, so I went to his hut wearing the Invisibility Cloak, and then..."

At this point, Harry couldn't help but shudder.

"What happened? Just tell me!" Cedric urged, Harry's cryptic behavior was driving him crazy.

Anyone else would have slapped him.

"I saw dragons," Harry said anxiously. "And Mrs. Maxime was there too—Hagrid mainly invited Mrs. Maxime and just gave me a ride. I also saw Ron's brother Charlie. Charlie told Hagrid that those dragons are the first challenge we champions will face!"

Cedric gasped, staring at Harry in disbelief. He whispered, "Dragons—you mean dragons? Oh my god! They're insane! Dragons? Are they expecting us to duel with dragons? No way…we're just kids…"

Yes, you're just children, please don't let you off the hook...

"I really don't understand the thought process of these Triwizard Tournament organizers..." Harry said, somewhat frustrated. "Making us fight a dragon, what a ridiculous idea..."
