I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts
Chapter 265 One Harry Lost His Dream
Harry was certainly anxious, not because he was about to face a dragon, but because of the concern of those around him.
He overheard Charlie and Hagrid's conversation while he was in Dragon Field. Charlie mimicked his mother, Aunt Molly's, anxious voice: "How could they let him participate in that tournament? He's too young! I thought they'd all be fine, I thought there would be an age limit..." Charlie paused, then continued, "When Mom saw the article about Harry in the Daily Prophet, she burst into tears. She said, 'He's still crying for his parents! Oh God, I had no idea, poor child...'"
Harry knew that everyone else was just making fun of him, using the things in the Daily Prophet as jokes, but Aunt Molly genuinely cared about him. Ever since he was chosen as a champion in the Triwizard Tournament, Aunt Molly had frequently sent her elderly owl, Carroll, to deliver messages, often bringing him food and clothes she had knitted herself, and constantly checking on him, worried that he might suffer some hardship at school…
Sirius wasn't too worried about Harry. He had initially suspected Karkaroff of throwing Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire, but only learned the truth after questioning Dumbledore. Sirius was very good at keeping secrets, so Dumbledore wasn't worried about any problems telling him the truth; after all, he wasn't Hagrid.
Harry wasn't the only one who knew that the first project was related to dragons; Madam Maxim and Karkaroff also knew. Hagrid had primarily invited Madam Maxim, and according to Harry, he had bumped into a hurried Karkaroff on his way back to Hogwarts.
“He’s a Death Eater,” Harry said to Cedric with some concern. “My godfather, Sirius Black, once told me that I should be careful of Karkaroff and, if possible, avoid being alone with him, lest he try to harm me.”
“I’ve heard about this from my father,” Cedric said, looking at Harry. “You can’t go wrong with Mr. Black. I mean, after all, the Death Eaters are loyal to Voldemort. You can’t expect them to reform, can you?”
"That's true." Louis affirmed Cedric's words. "As the saying goes, a leopard can't change its spots, so it's best to stay as far away from him as possible..."
Unexpectedly, Harry suddenly asked, "What about Professor Snape?"
Cedric was stunned by Harry's question, and Lewis hesitated for a moment before realizing what he meant and saying with a smile, "Professor Snape is different; he's a sycophant."
What you said makes so much sense, I'm speechless.
"Is it inappropriate to comment on a professor like that?" Cedric asked hesitantly.
"There's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure Professor Snape wouldn't care about these details." Louis raised his teacup to Cedric. "If you take it seriously, you lose. Cheers."
Wow, this one sentence contains the slogans of two bullet-screen video websites...
"You're here, Harry." Hermione's voice rang out as the door opened. "Ron and I have been looking for you for ages. He said you must be with Lewis, and we can't believe you actually are..."
"Oh, Ron, Hermione," Harry greeted listlessly. "We were talking about Karkaroff."
"I think you should make sure you survive until Tuesday night before thinking about Karkaroff." Hermione's voice sounded very anxious. She was holding a large stack of books, all of which she had just borrowed from the library. "After hearing what you said yesterday, I didn't go to class today and spent the whole day looking for him in the library."
After saying that, she slammed the large stack of heavy books down on the coffee table with a "bang".
Hermione, you're always so reliable.
On the other hand, her two useless men... well, let's not talk about them. Without Hermione, they probably wouldn't even have survived to the Chamber of Secrets.
"Trimming claws with magic... healing festering scales... what the hell is all this stuff? It's for weirdos like Hagrid who want dragons to be strong and powerful. I doubt you'd want a dragon to trim its claws or heal its scars right now, would you?" Hermione said, somewhat dejectedly. "It's too difficult. I heard a simple spell can solve the problem, but... what kind of spell can kill a dragon? Dragons are extremely difficult to kill because their thick scales are permeated with ancient magic, and only the most powerful spells can penetrate them..."
Kristassa listened to the conversation about how to kill a dragon, and trembled as she prepared to leave the room.
Although he knew that the dragons they were talking about were not the same species as himself, it still made his dragon liver tremble.
"Alright, Chris, come back here," Louis interrupted. "Watch your conversation, look what you've done to my little dragon maid..."
"Oh, sorry, Christa, we meant those giant, mindless lizards..." Hermione looked up with a smile that looked more like a grimace, then turned and snapped at Ron, "Put down that book, 'The Man Who Loves Dragons'! That book is completely useless, good heavens... what was I thinking, taking it out like that?"
"And this one?" Louis pulled out a book from the middle called "The Basic Spells for Dealing with Hyperactive and Irritable Animals," glanced at the title, and said, "I suppose the dragons you're dealing with are also the kind of slightly hyperactive and irritable little creatures, right?"
Look at how you phrased that, it sounds like a hyperactive and restless little animal... Goodness.
"Small animals? Oh my god..." Hermione rolled her eyes. "This is like the little horse crossing the river. Louise, you're an elephant, but what about us? We're little squirrels..."
"No need to be modest, you are Hermione, the little horse," Louise said with a smile.
"What about Harry...?" Hermione asked, stamping her foot.
"Harry is a pony too, don't forget you guys have been through the Mirror World," Louis said with a smile. "Remember that giant king Yhorm you fought a few days ago? He was a ruthless guy who could tear dragons apart with his bare hands. Also, I should mention that the dragons in the Mirror World are much more powerful than the ones you're about to face."
"Really?" Harry's eyes lit up.
He recalled the dragon he had encountered in Lothric City—although the dragon was partially paralyzed, it had left a particularly deep impression on him. He vividly remembered the scorching dragon breath, and every time he thought about it, Harry felt his face burning—not out of embarrassment, but because he had truly been burned by that dragon. If the Mirror World hadn't been immune to real harm, he would have been seven-tenths cooked by then.
"Of course it's true." Louis shrugged. "Or... do you remember the dragon-slaying armor you challenged before? I think you drew an identical set of equipment, right? If you're scared, you can wear it. The dragon-slaying axe has a special attack against dragons."
"Then I'm not afraid anymore." Harry chuckled and chose to believe Louis.
Cedric was a little confused. He had also tried to obtain the Dragon Slayer Armor, but he hadn't been as lucky as Harry to get the complete set. So he asked, "What if I don't have this armor?"
"That's easy, just use a spell." Louis crossed his legs. "Think about how you defeated the giant Yhorm, and how you defeated the Dragon Slayer Armor. If you could take care of those two, do you think a mere dragon is worthy to stand in your way?"
"You're right." Cedric took a deep breath, a surge of pride welling up inside him.
After chatting for a few more minutes, the house-elves brought out the prepared food and put it on the table. They had only eaten half of it when they heard someone push the door open and enter.
It's Emma.
"Oh, you're all here." Emma is becoming more and more normal now, and she's long since lost that girlish demeanor she had at the beginning. "It's good that you're all here... You also found out about the fire dragon, right?"
This was said to Harry.
Harry's heart skipped a beat, wondering if this was all about this. But Aunt Emma was Louise's mother, so she probably wouldn't harm him. He watched Emma nervously, wondering what she was going to say next.
"It's alright, it's not a big deal." Emma sat down next to Catherine, tapped the table, and Aslo quickly served her a bowl of noodles as well. She picked up her chopsticks and looked at Harry: "Cheating has always been a part of the Triwizard Tournament tradition. You'll get used to it."
"Huh?" Harry paused for a moment, then immediately retorted, "But Aunt Emma, I didn't cheat—I found out by chance..."
“Indeed, what scholars do shouldn’t be called stealing, it should be called burglary.” Emma quoted Lu Xun sarcastically. “I’m not blaming you, little one. I told Dumbledore long ago that he can certainly indulge his rigid and noble style, but I can assure you that Karkaroff and Mrs. Maxim will not be as inflexible as you. They will create every favorable condition for their warriors because they… well, they don’t care much about face.”
"To put it bluntly, it's just shamelessness, isn't it?" Ron said blankly.
"That's why I enjoy dealing with the Weasleys." Emma pointed at Ron, just like Li Yong from the TV show "Very 6+1." "You agree with me, Ron, but let's not be too blunt."
"Ahem...uh, Aunt Emma..." Ron said hesitantly.
"What's wrong?" Emma picked up a strand of noodles and ate it delicately.
"When we had Trelawney's divination class this afternoon, she even spent half the class rambling on about how, based on the relative positions of Mars and Saturn at the time, people born in July would be in great danger of sudden and tragic death..." Ron's expression was somewhat doubtful. As he spoke, he looked at Harry with concern, afraid that something might suddenly happen to Harry.
"You know, we humans are in all sorts of dangers in our daily lives." Emma smiled nonchalantly. "It's just a common trick in divination. Trelawney is indeed a very good diviner, but when she has her own consciousness, she's usually a big con artist."
“Mom’s right,” Louis chimed in. “Even if you stay home all the time, you could still get crushed by a plane that suddenly falls from the sky… Of course, if you fall off a dragon during a match, I still recommend you do it headfirst, Harry.”
Seeing everyone's puzzled looks, Louis chuckled and added, "To make things easier."
Harry shuddered; Louis's words instantly conjured up images in his mind.
"Don't scare him, Louis." Hermione looked at Harry worriedly and patted him on the back. "Alright, Louis was just kidding, don't take it seriously."
Harry felt his head buzzing. He forced himself to eat a couple of bites of bread. Right now, all he could think about was falling headfirst off a dragon's back. He had never thought about this before when he was in flying class or playing Quidditch, but after Louis said it today, he suddenly felt scared.
How could I not be afraid?
"And you, Catherine, aren't you scared?" Harry decided he couldn't just let himself be scared; he had to at least get someone with him.
"Why be afraid?" Catherine put down the bread in her hand and asked, puzzled.
"That's a dragon! Aren't you afraid?" Harry gestured with his hand to represent a large watermelon, trying to depict the dragon's terror.
However, Catherine didn't buy it. She merely glanced at Harry indifferently and said a single word: "Oh."
Harry felt frustrated and turned to look at Cedric.
"Don't look at me, I'm already very nervous." Cedric quickly turned his head away from Harry and grabbed the hamburger on the table to eat heartily.
Harry looked up blankly at the crystal chandelier on the ceiling and sighed heavily. He ate a quick dinner, walked over to the sofa, plopped down, and stared blankly at the chandelier, lost in thought.
"I don't think you need to worry so much," Louis suggested. "Whether you stick your neck out or not, you'll still get stabbed. Where's your courage as a Gryffindor? Look at Cedric; even he, a Hufflepuff, had the courage to face a dragon..."
"You used that word poorly. What do you mean by 'even Hufflepuff'...?" Cedric looked at Louis with a resentful expression. It was a bit hard for him, a prefect, to accept being so blunt about Hufflepuff.
"Oh, even Hufflepuff," Louis switched to a new word, "Anyway, I need you to pull yourself together and teach them a lesson, show them what Hogwarts is all about!"
"Yes! Let them know that Hogwarts is invincible!" Cedric's eyes burned with fighting spirit, and he clenched his fist in agreement.
Harry remained completely unmoved, mechanically turning his head on the sofa like a salted fish, and mechanically nodding twice, clearly telling everyone that a Harry had lost his dream.
