I'm the King of Curry at Hogwarts

Chapter 291 Catherine's Power

Chapter 291 Catherine's Power

As Catherine chanted the incantation, a pale blue transparent light curtain expanded rapidly in a spherical shape in all directions, sweeping across the lake, the audience in the stands, and the distant forest.

A few seconds later, a faint smile appeared on Catherine's lips. She located Louis, who was right in the middle of the lake.

Catherine waved her wand, and the lake parted to the sides as if on command, revealing a passage that stopped right in front of Louis.

The warriors, who were swimming with all their might, felt a tremendous force coming at them. When they came to their senses, they had already veered off course by dozens of meters. They looked around in astonishment and finally saw the strange passage.

Harry was so surprised that he instinctively opened his mouth wide and gulped down a mouthful of water.

His first thought was that this was absolutely Catherine's masterpiece.

The other contestants also noticed Catherine's big move, but without exception, none of them felt any desire to fight.

To live in the same era as such a freakish genius is both their tragedy and their fortune.

The audience in the stands seemed to be ignited. At this moment, everyone was captivated by Catherine's performance. She was like an unparalleled empress, commanding the world and none dared to disobey!

Even the most elusive water in the world has submitted to her magic; what immense power that is!

Mr. Bagman was speechless, stammering and repeating words like "Good heavens" and "Merlin," a far cry from his previous quick-wittedness.

Madam Maxim stared at Catherine in disbelief. After a long pause, she said to Dumbledore, "Are all the students at Hogwarts this talented?"

"What I'm saying is that Catherine was just an accident." Dumbledore shrugged, and as soon as he said this, Mrs. Maxime's expression softened considerably.

So it seems it's not insurmountable after all?

But Dumbledore's next words immediately soured Mrs. Maxime's mood.

"The truly impressive ones sleep underwater." Dumbledore stroked his white beard, his gaze sweeping over the table, across the lake, and settling on Louis.

Mrs. Maxim knew, of course, that he was referring to Louis.

Yes, just how powerful does Louis have to be to conquer a woman like that?

Catherine walked slowly forward. After a while, she passed through a door-like structure. A Grindylo was tied to the doorway. On both sides were simple stone dwellings, even with simple gardens. She continued forward and came to a place that looked like a small square. Louis and the others were hanging there. Looking at Louis's pale face, Catherine wanted to laugh.

She couldn't remember the last time she saw Louis in such a sorry state; it seemed like it was when she could easily hang him upside down with a bell.

I really miss that innocent age. Back then, they were both so naive. They knew each other's feelings, but they didn't know why they had to scheme against each other.

Thinking about it, Catherine smiled.

She took a couple more steps before noticing what was happening below. Several mermaids were holding spears and guarding Louise's body, while a circle of mermaids were singing.

What's really hard to understand is why a mermaid, whose appearance is so...unpleasant, can sing so beautifully? Catherine really couldn't figure it out.

To be honest, Catherine wasn't picky. They didn't look like the legends. They weren't the handsome men and beautiful women that Muggles imagined. Instead, they looked like the water pollution monsters from later Disney movies: dark skin, dirty hair, and yellow teeth. It was hard to imagine that they were "mermaids".

When they saw Catherine approaching, they assumed a defensive posture.

Catherine knew they weren't enemies, so she didn't use a spell immediately. Instead, she pointed at Louis in a very domineering manner, and then at herself.

The merfolk exchanged glances, nodded, and dispersed from Louis's side.

Ron, standing next to Louis, had an even more interesting expression; he was as white as a water ghost. And not far away, Zhang Qiu's hair was floating in the water, as if a cool breeze was blowing in her face.

Ignoring everyone else, she reached out and pulled Louis out of the water.

Yes, it's a princess carry.

The water on Louis's body evaporated instantly, and he opened his eyes.

His memory of the last second was still about drinking medicine.

"You've come?" Louis looked at Catherine gently.

Catherine's gaze was gentle as water. She didn't answer, but instead leaned her head in and kissed Louis.

Witnessed by the entire audience, enthusiastic cheers erupted once again, wave after wave.

It's rare to see a damsel in distress save a hero, especially when Louis, the great villain, is... oh well, Catherine is also a great villain.

"Youth is wonderful." Dumbledore clapped his hands and looked at the beautiful couple in the lake with a smile.

After a long while, Catherine came to her senses and looked at Louis with deep affection: "Little Deer, life without you is truly unbearable."

"I felt like I took some kind of medicine and woke up to see you." Louis scratched his head; he was telling the truth.

This kid has a knack for ruining the mood.

That's an improvement, though; he managed to hold back the words, "You're in such a hurry after only half a day?"

If this were said out loud, Catherine would be lucky if she didn't throw a Fiery Blaze at him on the spot.

Catherine wasn't angry when she heard Louis's words. She knew her boyfriend's temperament, so she gave a soft hum and walked back with Louis in her arms.

Behind her, the parted blue waves slowly returned to their original state, and by the time she reached the shore, the lake had returned to its original state.

"Aren't you coming down?" Catherine was surprised by her boyfriend's behavior today. He was usually very chauvinistic, so why was he so compliant today?

"The effects of the drug haven't worn off yet, hold me a little longer." Louis chuckled, showing no intention of letting go of Catherine's neck.

"Alright," Catherine said helplessly, carrying him back to her seat.

This little incident drew applause from the students again.

"It's clear you really like your girlfriend," Mrs. Maxim said, clapping her hands and looking at them with a blessing in her eyes.

"Of course, we've been through thick and thin together." Louis was referring to the misunderstanding during their first-year summer vacation.

After exchanging a few more jokes, Louis jumped down, pulled up a chair, and sat down next to Catherine.

The rescue team on the shore was actually a bit bewildered. They were all waiting on the shore with towels and clothes, just waiting for the wet and shivering heroes and hostages to come up so they could wipe them down and warm them up. Who would have thought that these two people didn't need them at all.

Catherine was the fastest, taking only four and a half minutes from start to finish, well under an hour.

Coupled with this unparalleled performance, it's undoubtedly a perfect score.

After a while, Cedric floated up, holding Zhang Qiu in his arms. The rescue team immediately went up to wipe them dry.

Next came Vasily and Marilyn, followed by Viktor, and after him came up, a dejected Fleur also swam up.

She took the towel with a blank look in her eyes, wrapped it around herself, plopped down on the shore, and stared intently at the lake.

Harry's situation in the lake was not ideal. He was waiting for everyone to rescue the hostages before he could return to shore. However, long after Viktor left, Fleur did not come to rescue her sister.

This made him a little anxious; if he didn't come soon, Gabrielle would never be able to be saved!

Recalling the mermaid's warning that he could only take one with him, he looked at the pale-faced Ron, then at the petite and pitiful Gabrielle, and made a snap decision, reaching out to grab both of them at the same time.

The mermaids who had been surrounding him and grinning foolishly at his gills stopped laughing. They raised their spears, shook their heads at him frantically, and warned him again that he could only take one with him.

Harry panicked. He drew his wand and shouted, "Get out of the way!" He exhaled a string of bubbles, but he knew perfectly well that the merfolk understood him because they suddenly retreated, their yellow eyes fixed on Harry's wand, looking terrified.

They outnumbered him, while Harry was all alone. But from the expressions on their faces, Harry could tell that, like Grindelwald, they were actually completely ignorant of magic.

Perhaps that's why they fear the wands in their hands.

He didn't have time to think it through. He figured he could just ask Dumbledore once they got ashore. The most important thing right now was to save people.

"I'll count to three!" Harry shouted, a string of bubbles shooting out of his mouth, making him look quite comical.

He held up three fingers to make sure they understood what he meant.

"One!" Harry put down a finger.

"Two..." He lowered another finger, and this time it worked; the mermaids dispersed.

Harry rushed forward and began hacking at the ropes binding the little girl. Finally, she was free. Harry scooped her up in his arms, grabbed Ron's robe by the collar, and with a powerful leap, lifted her off the water.

But with two people dragging him along, he was swimming so slowly. The two were as heavy as sacks full of Galleons. Harry was going crazy. The merman was still swimming around him with his spear. As he swam, he kept wondering to himself, "Will the three of us be dragged back when the time is up?"

But what he didn't notice was that the mermaid not only showed no hostility towards him, but also looked at him with kind eyes.

If he weren't carrying two burdens and wasn't so anxious that he was overthinking things, he might have realized that the mermaids were actually escorting him.

His performance has won the favor of the merfolk. Despite their less-than-ideal appearance, they are not bad-hearted, at least much better than those who live a comfortable life.

They quickly approached the surface of the water, and Harry mustered his last bit of strength to push off, and three heads emerged from the water.

He panted as he pulled Ron and the little girl forward. Around him, many disheveled heads with green hair popped up on the surface with him, but they all smiled kindly at him.

They were mermaids. Seeing their expressions, Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems Dumbledore doesn't intend to kill them," Harry thought, a signature silly grin spreading across his face.

The stands were a cacophony of shouts and yells, everyone seemed to be standing up. Harry guessed they probably thought the three of them were dead? Heh heh, they were wrong…

Hey, you didn't expect that, did you? I, Lao San, am back again...

Oh no, not Harry the Third, that's the Sorcerer of the Gathering Stone, how could it be our real wizard Harry?

Because they were out of the water, the medicine lost its effect instantly. Ron and Gabrielle both opened their eyes. The little girl looked frightened and confused, and swallowed several mouthfuls of lake water.

I must say, kids have a good appetite; they can even sip a couple of mouthfuls of this lake water.

Ron was different; he simply spat out a mouthful of lake water. The lake water really didn't taste very good. Although it wasn't polluted by British industry, the smell of this rotten pond was... really hard to bear.

He blinked a few times in the bright light, then turned to Harry and said, "Damn it, I hate this feeling. I'm soaking wet, and the lake is so cold. Can't we get to shore already? I'm freezing!"

Then he saw Fleur's sister and asked, puzzled, "Wait, Harry, why did you bring her up here too? Isn't she Fleur's hostage? What does she have to do with you?"

"Fleur didn't show up, I can't leave her behind!" Harry replied breathlessly, his face still bearing that goofy grin.

"Harry, you're such a sweetheart," Ron said, exasperated. "You didn't actually believe that song, did you? Dumbledore won't let anything happen to us, you're such a sweetheart... Lewis told us about it too, sigh, you should have gotten first place."

"No, Catherine is way faster than me," Harry said, still managing to chat with them as they swam. "She found Louis and rescued him in five minutes. Hey, when will I ever be as good as her?"

"In a few years, the magic will still be accumulating," Ron said. They had already swum to the shore when Fleur rushed over like a madwoman, crying and hugging her sister, repeatedly saying sorry.

"These two older brothers saved me..." Gabrielle said softly, coughing as she tried to vomit the water in her stomach.

Fleur then realized what was happening, stumbled over to the two of them, said a string of French, and then hugged Ron and gave him two big kisses on the cheek. Harry received the same treatment.

The French are truly enthusiastic, as the two brothers have witnessed firsthand. Ron scratched his head and chuckled sheepishly.

Hermione, who was clapping in the audience, jumped up when she saw this, drew her wand, and was about to go down and confront Fleur when Lavender Brown held her back tightly, preventing her from acting impulsively.

"Let me go! I'm going to duel this bitch!!!" Hermione was like a fully enraged lioness, her already fluffy brown hair becoming even more voluminous, flapping loudly with her movements.

Seeing the situation was turning sour, the Gryffindor girls quickly stood up and pushed Hermione back into her seat. Hermione, still furious, glared at Fleur, who was crying and hugging her sister, wishing she could rip this green tea bitch who had kissed her boyfriend in two.
