I didn't intend to destroy the world.

Chapter 10 Adventure? A real eye-opener!

In the town of Zendar, the official adventure shop is backed by the national treasury. Private shops can only survive by doing things that the official shop cannot, is unwilling to, or dares not do.

"They even engraved this pattern on it for me? The shopkeeper's craftsmanship is truly excellent." The elegant customer inspected the brand-new longsword at the counter, praising the exquisite carvings on it.

"I hope it brings you great success in that place," the shopkeeper said with a fawning smile.

"This is the final payment." The customer sheathed the sword, paid the final payment, and left the weapon shop.

"Wishing you great success in your martial arts endeavors! We look forward to your next visit to the Sea Serpent Weapon Shop!"

"And watch out, there are pickpockets around here!" The shop owner's smile vanished instantly after seeing the customer off.

"He should have been back yesterday, what happened?" The shop owner walked past the weapons shelf and back behind the counter.

It was getting late, and he was getting ready to pack up and close up shop.

Just as I was about to take off my apron, I heard footsteps approaching from outside the door.

He was overjoyed, thinking that the person he was waiting for had arrived, but when he got up and looked, he was somewhat disappointed.

A young man with black hair and black eyes, dressed in an ordinary manner.

"Welcome to the Sea Serpent Weapon Shop! If you can imagine it, you can buy it here! Whether you want to kill monsters or chop vegetables, I can satisfy you!"

"Even if my ancestral graves collapse, the swords I forge will never rust!" the shopkeeper said earnestly to the new customer.

So enthusiastic!

The new customer, Levitt, looked at the curly-haired middle-aged man in front of him and thought to himself that he was much more enthusiastic than the official store. For a moment, he was still a little unaccustomed to it.

After drinking with Bearskin and the others at the tavern, Levitt began preparing for his adventure.

After comparing prices at several item shops, Levitt bought some necessary items. When it came to weapons, he was a bit stumped. Even in the official adventure shop with its uniform and transparent pricing, he felt they were too expensive. So he thought he would try his luck at a private weapon shop to see if he could buy some used ones.

"Let me look around first." Levitt walked to the shelves.

It was nearing midnight, and the room was lit by candlelight. The shelves were filled with dazzling swords and knives, which, though of different kinds and shapes, all looked the same to Levitt.

[Standard Broadsword (Standard/White)]

Type: Weapon/Longsword

Description: The blade is two to three fingers wide and about one meter long. It is double-edged and the center of gravity is three inches in front of the guard.

He's not picky about jobs; he can do anything.

[Standard Rapier (Normal/White)]

Type: Weapon/Rapier

The sword is as narrow as a willow leaf and one to one and a half meters long. In the blink of an eye, it's already at your chest.

A viper's fangs—fast, accurate, and lethal in a single strike.

Iron Rod (Normal/White)

Type: Weapons/Staff

It has no blade, no point, no handguard, nothing superfluous, just a piece of iron.

Simple, straightforward, and always effective.

Levitt's eyes would scan most weapons and reveal detailed information, but he would fail to recognize them only when looking at weapons that were clearly more exquisite, better, or more expensive.

Simply put, he can only appraise ordinary-grade items now.

This can be considered a kind of "mechanism" that can identify good products.

"Well, if it's just a simple, non-dangerous task, you can try the iron rod."

I'm a beginner and short on cash.

The boss could tell that Levitt was that kind of person.

"Iron rods aren't cool," Levitt replied matter-of-factly.

"Hiss—" This was the first time the boss had ever heard such a reason for refusal.

Did you become an adventurer just to look cool?

"How about we give you that longsword at a lower price? If you really don't have the money, we can do installments, but you'll have to put something down as collateral." The shopkeeper continued to offer suggestions to Levitt.

"Do you have any that are a little older?" The boss had a feeling that this guy had planned this all along.

"Of course, it's all here." Actually, even if Levitt hadn't said anything, the boss would have already brought out all this junk.

He pulled out a large box covered with a tattered rag from under the shelf. It was covered in blood, rust, and unidentified stains; it was just a pile of junk.

A sword with a broken blade can kill a person instantly if it strikes the back of the head.

"Pick one, and I can fix it for you, for free." The shopkeeper rummaged through the weapons in the box, finding some that were still usable for Levitt.

"Wait a minute." Levitt precisely found an even more broken one among the pile of junk.

This is a short sword, its original appearance obscured by rust and grime. The hilt looks like it has several large abscesses, making it too big to grip with one hand.

It is indeed a weapon capable of killing; just a graze on a wound is enough to finish off the person being attacked.

If you were to give it a name, Levitt thinks it should be called "Komodo Kiss".

"What a story this sword has..." Levitt found that he could not analyze any information about the sword at all. Even though the sword was so old, it was still as mysterious as those swords inlaid with gems and carved with patterns!

The shopkeeper couldn't see anything special about the bulky short sword; his expression was quite strange, and he felt that Levitt was a bit "different from others."

"Sir, I understand your romantic nature, but..."

"No buts, fix it for me!" Levitt patted the blade, his fingers aching from the impact.

"If this sword needs repairing, I'm afraid I can't offer it to you for free." The shopkeeper rubbed his hands together, explaining to Levitt how difficult it was to repair.

This was within Levitt's expectations, but he certainly wouldn't agree so easily. So he pretended to be quite unwilling and argued with the boss for a while before finally settling on a price of 1.5 gold coins for the expedited repair of the short sword, including a hilt replacement.

"Then I'll come to pick it up tomorrow morning." Levitt handed over half a gold (that is, fifty silver) and then left the weapon shop.

Name: Li Weite

【属性】:力量:10、敏捷:10、体质:10、智力:8、感知:10、魅力:10

[Skill]: Freezing Ray

[Traits]: Imperial, Goblin, Farmer, Unknown Curse, Basic Item Search, Basic Swordsmanship

Basic swordsmanship (slashing is like smashing, cutting is like sweeping, thrusting is like delivering, parrying is like guiding; once you've mastered these four, the sword is like your arm)

Levitt didn't find any qualities he liked in the tavern, and he couldn't possibly let some drunken tough guy demonstrate his strength to him.

So, I only unlocked basic sword skills in a warrior's submenu.

I first witnessed this trait with the Orc Dagger. In fact, the Dagger was more powerful in melee combat than Ralph, but he was killed by an arrow.

Basic swordsmanship doesn't sound, look, or work that impressive, but it only requires 20 knowledge points to unlock.

It's cheap!

Now I have 84 Insight Points left. Whenever I encounter a useful trait or skill, I can unlock it and use it directly.

Levitt lay on the bed in his tavern room, staring at his door, unable to sleep.

In a few hours, open this door, and an adventure awaits you.

No, that's not right. It's more like gaining knowledge.

......

Through the wooden door, a hooded figure holding a dagger stood in front, muttering repeatedly, "Crescent moon, crescent moon, crescent moon, crescent moon..."
