When Char pushed open the bronze door of the alchemy workshop, it was already noon the next day.

Behind the door was a circular hall with a domed ceiling so high that the top was invisible. The walls were inlaid with copper pipes and instruments, some bubbling and others hissing steam. The air was filled with a mixture of pine resin and sulfur.

Tesla sat in front of the central alchemy table, with his back to the door.

Char took a few steps closer, walked around a low cabinet piled with parts, and finally saw what he was doing.

On the alchemy platform, a pair of goggles lay quietly within the glow of the copper lampshade.

The outer shell is silver-white with sharp edges, making it look like a 21st-century industrial product.

Alchemy can accomplish any level of precision machining that is possible in the 21st century.

Alchemy can even do things that the most sophisticated industrial lathes cannot.

Tesla didn't look up. He was using tweezers to adjust a screw smaller than a grain of rice on the side of his goggles, moving very slowly, the tips of the tweezers trembling slightly between his fingertips.

"Is it done?" Xia asked.

"Alright." Tesla put down the tweezers, leaned back in his chair, and let out a long breath.

His face was pale, and his eyes were sunken, as if he had been up all night. But his eyes were bright.

He picked up the goggles and handed them to Xia.

"Put it on."

Char took it and put it on without much hesitation. The headband was a bit tight, making his temples ache.

"Power on," Tesla said.

The inside of the goggles lit up briefly.

A semi-transparent screen floated in front of Char's eyes, like a HUD interface in a game.

The image on the screen is a blurry mass of countless colored dots. It's noisy and the edges are indistinct, but the outlines are still discernible.

It's an alchemy table, and the parts on it, and...

Char turned his head and looked at Tesla.

The blurry outline on the screen also changed direction.

Tesla's body was covered with a faint, almost invisible blue aura. That was the heat emanating from his body.

Through the goggles, everything warm to the eye glowed. The copper lampshades were a bright yellow, Tesla's fingertips were a pale blue, and even the steaming copper pipes on the walls gleamed with a dark reddish light.

"It can see temperature," Tesla's voice came from the side. "With this, the magical data we need to study next will be much easier to collect."

Xia had actually come here once last night and told him about Einstein's conjecture.

Temperatures above 5,000 degrees Celsius are sufficient to vaporize the vast majority of matter in the world.

While oxygen-type instruments like the Combustion Hand can use thermometers and combustion reactions to determine temperature, instruments like this are still necessary when dealing with plasmas that can reach temperatures of over 6,000 degrees Celsius.

He took the goggles off Char's head, put them in the box, and locked them.

"Let's go." He picked up the suitcase and walked towards the door.

Char followed closely behind.

They quickly returned to the villa.

In the courtyard, Einstein had set up a blackboard at some point and was writing several plasma schemes on it.

Tesla didn't say anything, but simply placed the box on the porch and stood next to the blackboard.

Despite staying up all night, he still seemed full of energy.

"You can remove this," Tesla said, pointing to the light cannon design. "Do you know how much energy this requires?"

Einstein looked at Tesla and asked, "What's your suggestion?"

"Let's think about how to create plasma first."

Einstein stroked his chin. "If it were more convenient, it would be easier to directly ionize the air."

Tesla shook his head. "Too much energy consumption. Air has low density and high specific heat capacity."

"What if we use the second rune to gather energy and then sift out oxygen for heating?"

"It's a good idea, but still not the best option."

After a pause, Tesla added, "It's not the best option at least for now. We can consider it when we reach a higher level and seek more convenient magic solutions for the plasma series."

Now... since we're going to use an engineering-based approach, let's use the method that consumes the least amount of energy.

Tesla turned and walked into the villa, taking out the alchemy disc.

The alchemy workshop already had alchemy plates, and they had all kinds of models, so I didn't bring this one with me.

He took out the aluminum beads he had previously refined from his pocket and placed them in the alchemy plate, then channeled his magic into them.

After the brilliance flashed.

A pile of aluminum shavings appeared before their eyes.

To convert a metal into plasma, it must go through four stages: solid-liquid-gas-ionization. Within milliseconds, aluminum must absorb a huge amount of energy, enough to vaporize it.

Aluminum shavings have a large surface area and heat evenly, which is better than directly heating aluminum balls.

Tesla silently opened the box, took out a heat-resistant glove, and put it on.

He whispered, "To ionize metal, you also need a massive input of energy in an instant. However, we actually solved this problem when we were researching electromagnetic railguns. We'll make a magic capacitor, and several of them."

Tesla slowly raised his hand, constructing several glowing magical capacitors in the air, and converted magic into electricity, inputting it into the capacitors.

At the same time, he also used "morphological endowment" and "stability" to create a channel between these capacitors and iron filings.

then,

Tesla activated the magic capacitor.

"Sizzle—"

A piercing electrical discharge exploded in the yard. Blue and white arcs of electricity shot from the capacitors along the channels Tesla had built towards the piles of aluminum.

The aluminum shavings lit up for a fleeting moment, and then...

"Bang!"

The aluminum shavings did not turn into plasma spheres; instead, they exploded in an instant.

They pelted the blackboard and the pillars of the porch with a crackling sound. A few flew particularly far, one of which landed squarely in the coffee cup Einstein was holding, making a soft "hiss" and releasing tiny bubbles.

Einstein looked down at the cup and said helplessly, "I just made this coffee."

Tesla did not respond; he slowly stood up.

"We need to find a way to contain these aluminum shavings and the plasma that forms after they vaporize."

"Do you have a solution?" Xia asked.

"Two options."

Tesla walked to the blackboard and wrote two words on it.

Magnetic confinement

[Stable Shell]

"I prefer a stable shell," Tesla said. "To put it simply, it has a shorter lifespan."

"Does the magnetic confinement last longer?" Char asked.

Tesla nodded. "But magnetic confinement is much more complicated, and it requires real-time adjustment of the magnetic field strength."

Since you don't need to attack anything too far away, a stable shell will suffice. Just like throwing a compressed hydrogen-oxygen ball, throw it out.
