Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!

Chapter 12: The High-Level Shadow Assassin's Challenge Show

"strangeness……"

Roger frowned.

It was nighttime, and the storm raging across the Katachon Wasteland was so fierce that even the minotaurs would find it difficult to withstand. Why would any adventurer choose to venture into the dungeon at such a time?

Moreover, visibility is extremely poor in the storm, so how did the opponent accurately find the entrance to the Dorne Dungeon?

"Looks like... a tough character has arrived."

Without hesitation, Rogge quickly slipped back to the city lord's room, sat on the throne, and activated the monitoring system, ready to see if his carefully "monster-stuffed" dungeon could bring a "surprise" to this uninvited guest.

……

"The Adventurers' Guild has classified it as a Level 1 dungeon, and the dungeon lord is a minotaur..."

Emerging from the shadows, Rivers recalled information about the Dorne Dungeon.

However, this outdated intelligence has long since lost its meaning.

In her previous conversation with Grace, Rivers had already learned about the upheavals that had occurred in the Dorne Dungeon.

"A new city lord...? A demon? A vampire? A mind flayer? Or... a runaway human?"

The underground Chaos faction is a mixed bag of races, like a hodgepodge, but only a handful of factions have the ability to design such a treacherous and cunning dungeon.

Stepping into the deep tunnel leading underground, listening to the wind howling like a banshee, fragments of memories from past adventures flash through River's mind.

"That's really true..."

Rivers gently shook her head and bent down to draw the dagger from her waist.

At the same time, dark shadows coiled around her graceful body like living creatures.

Combat Technique - [Stealth Step]

In the blink of an eye, Rivers' figure transformed into a swift shadow that could not be caught by the naked eye, flying down into the depths of the earth.

In just a short while, this high-ranking shadow assassin had arrived at the first level of the prison area.

Immediately following, a dominant performance by Rivers officially began.

Whether it was a zombie feigning death to ambush, or a group of Lickers attacking from three or five sides, wherever her dagger passed, they were all reduced to fragmented pieces, not even able to hinder her progress.

The only thing that could make Rivers pause for a moment was the few Chaos Devourers that Roggen had placed under the collapsed floor.

Rivers stepped on the edge of the collapsed floor; for a shadow assassin with maxed-out agility, such a trap was utterly ineffective.

She peered down into the deep pit at the several extremely distorted and terrifying-looking Chaos Devourers, which seemed to emerge only from the deepest depths of nightmares.

Even the seasoned shadow assassin showed a look of disgust: "An unfamiliar monster, something those underground guys just created?"

With a tentative thought in mind, Rivers voluntarily jumped into the deep pit.

Combat Art - [Hunter's Mark]

Even while still in mid-air, in River's eyes, every Chaos Devourer was marked with a Crimson Hunt Mark that could increase damage.

The next second, [Stealth Step] flashed again, and half of the hundreds of eyes on the surface of a Chaos Devourer were completely blinded.

"Gurgle..."

There were no mournful howls, only nauseating sounds that challenged the limits of physiology.

The remaining three Chaos Devourers immediately stretched out their tentacles and reached for River.

Before its tentacles could even touch its target, the Shadow Assassin had already vanished into the darkness once more.

From the shadows, River took a piece of fresh meat from her pouch and tossed it in front of a Chaos Devourer.

The tentacles immediately rolled up the chunk of flesh and threw it into the giant mouth above its head.

A corrosive liquid spewed from the depths of its massive maw, which soon worked in conjunction with its sharp teeth to completely digest the chunks of flesh.

This scene is quite similar to a flush toilet or a front-loading washing machine.

"What a twisted sense of humor," Rivers commented with a sneer.

Now that she had figured out the Chaos Devourer's size and attack methods, Rivers didn't intend to waste any more time.

The dagger in his hand was tinged with shadow.

Combat Skill - [Shadow Blade]

Combat Skill - [Cloud of Daggers]

The two combat techniques combined, and a cloud composed entirely of daggers covered in shadow power appeared out of thin air and flew rapidly toward the Chaos Devourers.

With a silent cut, the four Chaos Devourers collapsed to the ground moments later.

Deep within the dungeon, Rogue frowned as he witnessed River nearly annihilating four Chaos Devourers.

"A shadow assassin, and at least a mid-to-high rank."

If judged using the same criteria as adventurers, they would be Gold-level or even higher.

"How could my little level 1 dungeon attract someone like this? Coveting the Summoning Bell? That can't be right. The Lost Knight isn't even as good as this guy."

Rogge was completely baffled, but also relieved that he had just increased the strength of the monsters on the second level.

In the short time it took to think, Rivers had already arrived at the poison pool area at the junction of the first and second levels.

This time, Rivers didn't confront the dozens of rotting wild dogs head-on; in her view, that would be a complete waste of time.

From beginning to end, River's goal was not to destroy the underground city, but to find out all the potential dangers for her young mistress.

Submerging back into the shadows, they quickly passed the poison pool and the pack of corrupting wild dogs patrolling within it, successfully reaching the downward-facing elevator platform.

With a leap, the dagger embedded in the wall, and Rivers chose a faster way to descend.

Before long, she arrived at the second level of the tomb area.

Using [Stealth Step] again, Rivers planned to get the bell that the young lady mentioned could summon a knight as soon as possible by herself, and then clear the dungeon.

However, even a high-level shadow assassin is destined to fail in the face of malice from another world.

Having explored the tomb for only a short while, Rivers encountered a long, narrow passage and was ambushed by a horde of finger worms and wheel skeletons.

"Another monster I've never seen before."

Rivers was a little curious. Could it be that those chaotic guys underground had recently had a scientific breakthrough?

The immobilization beam shot by the giant finger insect struck River directly.

If it were an ordinary adventurer, they would have no choice but to endure the control effects in this terrain.

But Rivers simply vanished into the shadows, and when she reappeared, she was already next to the most threatening Bigfinger Bug.

Hunter's Mark, Shadow Blade, Fear Slash

With a three-hit combo, the big-finger worm instantly turned into pieces.

"I need to hurry back and make morning tea for Miss," Rivers muttered to herself.

Without the immobilizing beam of the big finger bug, the remaining little finger bugs and wheel skeletons were left to be slaughtered and were quickly wiped out.

Sheathed the dagger, Rivera began to think about how to find the Soul-Summoning Bell.

Miss Grace had finally managed to make two teammates, so this bell was the best gift for her friends and she absolutely couldn't afford to lose it!

"Ring ring..."

A bell rang in the distance, and at the corner at the end of the passage, the dark red body of a rotting wild dog flashed by.

Upon hearing this sound, Rivers immediately used [Stealth Step] to chase after the Corrupted Wild Dog.

……

"Hiss...this Shadow Assassin is pretty strong."

Seeing Rivers effortlessly annihilate his meticulously arranged army of finger worms, Rogue immediately began adjusting the positions of the remaining monsters on the second level.

"Hmph, you've come to a level 1 dungeon to harass low-level players, huh? Well then, don't blame me for being impolite."

Since the finger bugs and wheel skeletons were completely useless, Rogue simply recycled them into energy.

The two royal ghosts and two limbed nobles, who were originally scattered throughout the second level area, were gathered together by Rogue and stationed together in front of the final boss room.

Even if the four powerful elite monsters can't overwhelm and kill the Shadow Assassin, they will certainly be able to wear him down.

"Replacing the monsters you killed would consume a lot of negative energy, so use the equipment you dropped to offset it."

After completing the preparations, Roger looked back at the monitor.
