Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!
Chapter 58: Connecting Clues
Almost a month has passed since Rogue succeeded the former Tauren as the Lord of the Dorne Dungeons and began making sweeping changes to the dungeon's structure.
The Licker and the Corrupt Hound have been around for a month, making them veteran members of the dungeon.
The adventurers weren't fools; they were able to figure out some of the weaknesses of the Lickers and the Corrupted Hounds.
For example, a licker has sensitive hearing but almost no vision, and is also fragile.
The Corrupt Wild Dogs move in packs, are highly aggressive, and have potent toxicity. There is still no solution to them, but they are vulnerable to area-of-effect damage.
However, the guide provided by Rogue to the adventurers revealed the greatest weaknesses of these two monsters more clearly.
That is acid and flame.
First-tier spell – [Tasha's Acidic Brew]
Having spent real money to buy the strategy guide, Elisa raised her staff, and a large mass of dark green acid condensed out of thin air, eventually forming a line that washed over the onrushing Lickers.
The acid sprayed onto the lickers, instantly corroding the muscles of these terrifying monsters.
In just a few breaths, these lickers melted into pools of bloody, sticky flesh after letting out painful howls.
"It seems the shop owner wasn't lying."
Elisa felt a little relieved; at least her money hadn't been wasted and the guide was useful.
Then she twirled her staff, sending acid rays washing over one licker after another.
Before long, the swarming Lickers were all wiped out.
However, maintaining the first-circle spell for so long temporarily depleted Alyssa's magic power. She began to crush the radiant crystal to replenish her magic power, while observing the performance of the others, especially the five members of the Silver Ash Squad, particularly the high-level mage Dylan.
2nd Ring Spell - [Aganathar's Fire Breath]
A surging wave of flames swept over dozens of rotting wild dogs.
Perhaps it's the instinct of wild beasts, or perhaps it's influenced by the crimson decay, but the fear of fire is etched into the instincts of the decaying wild dog.
Before the flames even truly touched them, but were merely approaching, the corrupt wild dogs lost their frenzy and began to retreat.
But the magical attacks did not stop.
"What are you standing there for? You're out of magic already? You're such a low-level mage." Dylan looked at Elisa, who was still replenishing her magic, with disdain. "Didn't the academy teach you spell combinations?"
Despite her resentment, Elisa raised her staff again, chanted a spell, and cast the second-circle spell, [Wind Spell].
The gale swept up the flames, forming a terrifying firestorm that mercilessly devoured all the rotting wild dogs.
The flames scorched the bodies of these beasts, burning their crimson decay to ashes.
This scene was quite spectacular. Even two level 2 spells, when properly combined, could achieve terrifying power, instantly clearing away the surging monster tide.
Now everyone else doesn't need to lift a finger; they just need to wait for the fire to go out.
However, there was one exception—no, there was one knight who was an exception.
Amidst the waves of flames, a biting, cold wind howled.
The lost knight, his eyes glowing red, brandished his twin swords and slaughtered the few remaining monsters who had managed to survive.
The sharpness of his attacks and the ingenuity of his swordsmanship caused Joel, who had no chance to make a move and could only watch the show, to exclaim in surprise.
"You actually managed to get your hands on this bell." Horn looked at the bell's owner, Grace, with some surprise.
He had heard of the reputation of the Soul-Summoning Bell and had also seen scenes of the Lost Knights taking action in the crystal ball images of other adventurers.
"This knight is very strong," Galadon said in a deep voice. For someone as low-ranking as Ironheart to say this was enough to prove the strength of the Lost Knight.
Grace, holding the summoning bell, scratched her head sheepishly: "Mr. Oreg is one of the Storm King's wings, and a hero chosen by the Blessed King."
"Does this knight have a name?"
The others looked surprised.
Grace reveals the Summoning Bell, displaying its description.
The Summoning Bell
The cold, silvery-white bell can summon the ashes residing within it.
It was a gift from a deity who possessed the power of the Dark Moon and whose laws championed freedom.
"All living beings, ponder deeply in this long, cold night: what is fear, confusion, loneliness...?"
Storing Ashes: Oregon, the Knight of Lost Home
He was once known as one of the Storm King's wings, and was later chosen by the Blessed King to hunt down countless traitors.
Therefore, he received a reward and was able to return to the tree as a hero.
"Gods, Dark Moon, Law..."
Lia asked curiously, "Isn't this what that Sun Knight said before?"
"What!" Grace suddenly exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Lia's hand. "You've met the Sun Knight!?"
"Yes, I've met him. What's wrong?" Lia nodded. "That Sun Knight said he came from Astra and even explained to us what gods, laws, and supreme will are."
"It must be him!" Grace exclaimed excitedly. "It seems Mr. Sun Knight didn't die in the mouth of the Gluttonous Dragon!"
At this moment, the members of the Silver-Gray Squad realized something was wrong and turned to ask:
"You've seen the Sun Knight too?"
Elisa and the others nodded, while Grace eagerly chimed in, "We met Mr. Sun Knight in the [Taifa Dungeon]! He even helped us fight the Gluttonous Dragon! And he saved my life!"
In both underground cities, the same person appeared who claimed to be the Sun Knight.
Coincidence? That's impossible.
"Could what the shopkeeper said be true?" Elisa wondered to herself. "These two underground cities used to be one, and they hold secrets from the past?"
"The Sun Knight you met will fight for you? Is he a living person?" Leah asked curiously again. "But the Sun Knight we met said he wasn't a living person. He led us to the door of the final boss room and then disappeared."
Now it was Grace's turn to be bewildered. Was the Sun Knight really dead? Died in the battle against the Gluttonous Dragon? And now exists here as a spirit?
With the Sun Knight at the center, the two teams shared their experiences exploring the two dungeons.
The Ember Squad learned from Patch what the Undead, the Age of Fire, and the Linking of the Flame are from the Taifa Dungeon.
In the Dorne Dungeon, the SilverAsh Squad learned about the concepts of gods, laws, and the Tree of Return from the Sun Knight, as well as the epic of the Golden Tree.
It seems like everything is connected.
But there seems to be an invisible membrane between the two.
This is mind-bending; I feel like I need to develop a brain.
This is how everyone feels.
"Let's explore the dungeon first."
In the end, everyone reached a consensus: regardless of the circumstances, clearing the Dorne Dungeon was their ultimate goal.
