Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!

Chapter 59 You think you have the numbers? Let's show him some jailers and bugs!

For two squads with two mages capable of casting spells in unison, no amount of rotting hounds, skeleton centipedes, or lickers could pose a threat.

After all, these are all crispy shells, and a single fire can burn them completely.

The only thing that could pose a threat to them in the first-level prison area was probably the cursed frogs that could spew black mist that could kill.

At least that's what the nine members of SilverAsh and Ember squad thought.

"Boom..."

The towering, twisted Chaos Devourer crashed to the ground, its hideous eyeballs bursting open all over its body.

This is the work of the assassins Aysso and River.

Before the joint exploration, the two teams had almost no interaction, but the battles, especially in the dungeons, rapidly accelerated their mutual understanding.

No fool would be secretive to their collaborators in a dangerous dungeon; such distrust will only kill everyone in the end.

These are lessons learned by adventurers through blood and tears.

"That's where those strange cursed frogs appear. Get your wind magic ready."

The SilverAsh Squad members looked serious; they had witnessed the power of the Cursed Frog.

Dylan, in particular, looked grim when he recalled the scene of himself being pierced by black thorns and covered in maggots.

Alyssa and the others had never seen a cursed frog before, but they could tell from the expressions of the SilverAsh Squad that something was amiss, and they became wary.

"Quack quack..."

Sure enough, soon, along with a chilly and damp feeling, the curse frog's signature croak began to echo all around.

Not far away, a large group of pitch-black cursed frogs were hopping and leaping toward the group, spewing out deadly cursed black mist from their mouths.

"The guide says that this monster is called a cursed frog, and its only attack method is to spew black mist with a 'curse death' effect."

Grace read aloud from the strategy guide: "It is said that the appearance of cursed frogs is often accompanied by dead roots. They are related to the first demigod to die - the Death Prince, Golden Godwin, and may be his retinue."

【Wind-making technique】

Elisa raised her staff, and a gust of wind immediately swept back the slowly approaching black mist, causing it to dissipate.

Knowing that the cursed frog's only attack method is black mist, dealing with it is naturally simple.

"This travel guide was definitely worth buying."

However, just as Elisa was sighing, another large swarm of cursed frogs attacked from behind.

At the same time, the seemingly solid floor collapsed without warning.

Caught off guard, the crowd could only fall along with the debris.

There were only three exceptions: the elven archer Lia, who had high agility, and the high-ranking assassin Aisso.

The elf girl had been leaping and bounding through the forest for hundreds of years, so such a small collapse was unlikely to cause her to fall.

The same applies to Aiso. She usually does parkour on the rooftops of Leman City. It's not uncommon for her to accidentally trample on the roof of a tavern. To avoid being caught by the tavern owner, she has practiced the skill of escaping in time whenever there is a collapse.

Of course, there's also the strongest one, River.

Oh right, Rivers was still holding the still-shaken Grace in one arm when she used the combat skill [Stealth Step].

In the blink of an eye, she and Grace were safely standing on the floor.

"What's going on next?"

Lia approached the large crater where the cave had collapsed and looked down, but all she could see was darkness. She could only vaguely hear the sounds of a fierce battle.

"Aiso?"

Lia called her teammates over. As a dark elf hybrid, Aisso possessed the talent of dark vision.

"They are under siege."

Aisor's words were brief, and he took out a few Warm Stones from his pocket and dropped them down.

The soft light emitted by the [Heat Stone] allowed Lia and Grace to see everything that was happening below.

A dozen or so Chaos Devourers were frantically attacking the five people in the pit.

Although the Chaos Devourer is a monster with a single attack method, it has an extremely high health pool. It would take a lot of effort to deal with a single one, let alone when it appears in groups.

Moreover, a large group of tall, humanoid creatures dressed in black robes, with iron masks covering their faces, and holding scorching hot irons and eerie lanterns gathered around the Chaos Devourer.

This is a jailer's maid from the city of sin, whose mind has been warped by the fires of sin.

Their sole purpose in living was to inflict endless torment on the prey that fell into their hands.

As the branding iron heated up and steam rose, the eyes of the jailer and maid began to glow red, locking onto Galadon and the others in the pit.

A feeling of weakness immediately swept over me.

Even Galadron, who possessed the blood of giants, was the most robust, and could go toe-to-toe with the minotaurs, felt weak.

It's as if they are aging rapidly.

Only by escaping from sight or enduring the weakness to kill the jailer or maid can one escape this weakness.

Unfortunately, the sheer number of jailers and maids, along with the interference from the Chaos Devourer, meant that the five people in the pit couldn't find a way out. They could only drag their exhausted bodies and keep fighting until they died.

In gamification terms, a creature being stared at by a jailer's maid will have its maximum health points deducted.

"roar!"

With a roar, Galactus activated Giant Growth and Iron Skin, transforming into an iron giant and unleashing pure numerical brute force.

"We have to go down and help," Grace said immediately, turning to look at River.

But the latter shook his head and pointed around.

The horde of cursed frogs that hadn't yet been dealt with were attacking them.

Some of the cursed frogs even jumped to the edge of the pit and began spewing black, cursed mist into it.

"Whoosh!"

Lia fired an arrow, instantly piercing through two cursed frogs.

"We have to stop these monsters; we can only trust the captain and his team now."

If these cursed frogs aren't stopped, the cursed black mist will eventually kill all five people in the pit.

The nine people, who were originally in close formation, are now forced to fight separately.

"Please, Mr. Oreg."

Grace rang the bell again, and the Lost Knight Oreg, wielding twin swords, reappeared and pounced on the swarm of cursed frogs.

With River still concealing her true strength, only the Lost Knights could quickly eliminate the swarms of cursed frogs.

……

"Tsk, this is annoying. They actually dare to use my people against me."

Deep within the dungeon, watching this scene, Rogue scoffed, "So you think you're the only ones with a lot of people? With the Lost Knights, that makes ten. Let's see who has more!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the negative emotional energy was depleted again.

Several enormous insects with swollen abdomens, containing murky orange-yellow liquid, and small wings on their backs appeared beside Rogge.

Mother of Aspid from Hollow Knight.

This was Rogue's first attempt at creating monsters from the Hollow Knight series. In the game, these are insects, which are naturally very small, so Rogue made them appropriately enlarged.

The Aspid Mother, buzzing around Rogue, was about a meter tall, while the Aspid Hunters and Aspid Lavae she hatched were the size of a human head and a palm, respectively.

Since the biggest advantage of the two joint exploration teams is their numbers, Rogge plans to overwhelm them with a swarm of insects.
