The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard

Leon and Ada stared in shock at the giant who was over three meters tall in front of them. They never expected him to speak, and in English, which they knew so well. Could an ordinary person grow that tall, or was he some kind of robot?

Elpis had no time to guess Leon's thoughts. He slowly stepped forward, shielding the two behind him. The Tyrant also saw the towering giant blocking his path. Without stopping, he clenched his right fist and attacked Elpis.

Elpis raised his left hand and easily clamped down on the tyrant's right fist, which was striking with all its might. The tyrant tried to pull his right hand back but found that he couldn't. Then, with a forceful pull, Elpis ripped the tyrant's entire right arm off.

The tyrant, oblivious, continued his attack with his remaining left arm, which was torn off once more. Before the tyrant could react, Elpis grabbed his head and squeezed it hard, sending fragments of the skull flying through the air.

After Elpis's brief assessment, the Tyrant's physical strength is currently weaker than that of an unarmored ordinary Astartes.

Looking at the wounds on the tyrant's shoulder and neck, the flesh inside is wriggling and growing, indicating that its cellular activity and self-repair capabilities are quite remarkable.

Leon and Ada exchanged a glance, both showing surprise. Leon then spoke, "Thank you so much for saving us. May I ask who you are...?"

"Alright, mortal," Elpis interrupted Leon, turning around to look down at the two of them. "Find some gasoline, pour it on this bio-engineered creature, and burn it."

Perhaps it was the authority and unyielding nature of Elpis's words, or perhaps it was the force he had just displayed in dealing with the tyrant, but Leon and Ada carried out Elpis's orders.

"I don't understand." Lyon looked at the tyrant engulfed in flames and asked Elpis, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"Mortals, you have been conscripted," Elpis coldly uttered. "You will assist me in completing several tasks."

"Who exactly are you? Why should we listen to you?" Ada asked, her face full of vigilance, gripping her pistol tightly.

Without immediately answering their questions, Elpis walked straight out, the sound of his metal footsteps echoing loudly throughout the silent underground parking lot.

Leon and Ada exchanged a glance, then finally followed the tall figure. They had no choice; the image of the tyrant's gruesome death still lingered in their minds, and they had to leave this underground parking lot eventually.

"Um, my name is Leon Kennedy, and her name is Ida." Leon jogged along, barely keeping up with Elpis's pace. "What's your name? Why should we do this mission with you? Do you know who's behind this disaster?"

"I am the Emperor's personal guard." Elpis stopped in his tracks, looking back at the slightly out-of-breath Leon and the lagging Ada. "All humanity, whether known or unknown, will be united under the leadership of the Human Empire. You mortals have a duty to be conscripted by me and assist me in completing my mission."

Centuries of service in the Imperial Guard did not erode Elpis's humanity. Although he was as proud and ruthless as other members of the Imperial Guard, he still had a sense of kinship and compassion for ordinary people.

Perhaps the revolutionary education Elpis received in his previous life doesn't apply to the brutal Warhammer universe, but it always makes him stand out.

"The source of this disaster is the Umbrella Corporation." Elpis's voice was completely flat. "You must help me destroy their suspected Abomination Intelligence, obtain their technological data and virus samples, and finally end this man-made virus infection."

Mortals? Emperors? Human Empire? Where did this feudal organization come from? Lyon was full of questions, having received a large amount of information all at once, and didn't know where to begin.

"This gentleman, Guardian," Ada finally caught up with them, "let's set aside what you mean by the Emperor and the Human Empire. How do I know that you, and the organization behind you, aren't just after Umbrella Corporation's technology and virus samples?"

"Ada, I know you, and I don't think you'll mind," Elpis said, seemingly implying something. "Lead the way to the Umbrella Corporation's base. I'll follow behind you."

Ada looked at Elpis, her brows furrowing slightly, but she reluctantly agreed to his request, feeling as if he had seen through her secret.

Ada then followed, Elpis followed behind, and Leon also followed along, somewhat confused.

Because of the damaged road, they could only pass through the back alley of a gun shop. Ada and Leon replenished their ammunition and grenades at the gun shop before continuing on.

As soon as Leon stepped outside, a shotgun suddenly emerged from the shadows in the corner, pointed at Leon's head, and at the same time, a voice rang out:

"Don't move!"

It was a man with a face covered in dirt and blood, a stubble beard, messy hair, and several scratches on his face.

"I mean no harm," Leon said, slowly turning to the man. "I'm just passing by. I hope you'll put down your weapon."

"Impossible!" the man said angrily, but his eyes revealed fear and tension. "Turn around and go back to where you came from."

As they were talking, the door behind the man opened, and a little girl walked out. She was covered in filth and blood, with bandages wrapped around her arms, and she was making low growls, just like the zombies on the street.

"Your daughter needs help." Leon saw the little girl coming out of the door.

"I don't need you to tell me how to take care of our daughter," the man said emotionally. "I know how!"

"Put the gun down!" Ada appeared, pointing her pistol at the man, and slowly approached.

The man pointed his gun at the woman who had suddenly appeared. Leon seized the opportunity, quickly drawing his pistol from his waist and aiming it at the man. Ada noticed the unusual behavior of the little girl behind the man and pointed her gun at the girl.

"No! Wait!" The man panicked and quickly shielded the little girl behind him.

"Please move aside, she's already infected. We need to deal with her before she turns into those things."

"She's my own daughter!" The man became increasingly agitated, his whole body trembling uncontrollably. "I will never let her get hurt!"

"You've been infected too." A voice came from behind Leon and Ada. Elpis walked over. "Soon, you two will both turn into zombies."

"No..." Looking at that tall figure and his body becoming increasingly out of his control, the man was utterly desperate.

"Daddy?" the little girl's voice came out intermittently.

"My little darling." The man turned and knelt down, hugging the little girl tightly, his voice trembling, "Daddy's here, I'm with you."

"What the hell are those damn monsters outside?" the man asked Leon. "You're a cop, you should know something about why these things are happening!"

The man was on the verge of collapse. He looked at his daughter, his eyes filled with remorse and love. "I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry!"

After speaking, the man's head slowly drooped, and he gradually lost consciousness.

The little girl was just staring at her father unconsciously, and a trace of bloody tears seemed to flow from the corner of her only eye that had not yet turned completely white.
