Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 207 Hena's Surprise Attack
Wayne stretched.
After a long day, my shoulders and back are stiff.
He decided to take a nice bath.
The bathroom was in a corner of the backyard, and the lights were already on when he walked over from the hallway.
Pushing open the door, a wave of heat hits you.
Vera was very thoughtful and had already prepared hot water for him.
The bathtub was steaming, and the temperature was just right.
Wayne took off his clothes, stepped into the bathtub, and sat down. The hot water washed over his chest, seeping into his bones from his skin, and his whole body relaxed inch by inch.
The images from today flashed through his mind frame by frame—Gleeve kneeling on the ground and wailing, Andrei's unwilling eyes as he fell, Aya's small figure curled up on the bench, Amu... Wayne opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling.
The hot water splashed out with a loud bang.
He changed his posture and closed his eyes again.
Forget it, I don't want to.
The shadow on the water's surface suddenly flickered.
Wayne opened his eyes.
The water has returned to calm.
He stared at the water for a couple of moments, but nothing happened. Just as he was about to close his eyes again, the shadow beneath the water suddenly spread out.
Wayne pressed his hand against the pool wall.
The water surface exploded.
Whoosh!
A figure suddenly burst out of the water, splashing a large spray of water all over the ground. The figure burst out of the water with great force, bouncing half a foot upwards before crashing back into the water, its limbs thrashing about on the surface.
"Help...help...gurgle gurgle..."
Wayne saw the face clearly.
Emily.
She was choked by the water and felt completely disoriented.
Wayne scooped her up.
Emily was soaking wet.
Her gaze moved from Wayne's face to his shoulder, from his shoulder to his chest, from his chest to... then she abruptly looked away.
Her face was very red.
Wayne looked at her.
What are you doing here?
"I...I..." Emily's voice was very soft, almost inaudible, "I'm trying out a new ability..."
"New ability?"
"Shadow-anchored teleportation." Emily turned her head away. "You can set a point in the shadow as an anchor point, and then teleport from anywhere to the location of the anchor point."
Wayne looked down at his reflection in the water.
The candlelight cast his shadow on the bottom of the pool.
"So you set me as an anchor point?"
Emily nodded shyly.
"Why...why is it being sent at this time?"
Wayne looked at her.
Emily lowered her head even further, her voice muffled by the steam, barely audible: "Wendy said... coming at this time... will bring good things..."
Is there a story about Wendy in this?
The panel then appeared.
[Emily's Current Status]
[Status: Nervous, shy, with a hint of secret delight. She wasn't really trying out her new ability; it was more about the "good thing" Wendy had mentioned. Trying out the new ability was just an excuse.]
[Note: She was secretly delighted. Wendy was right; good things had indeed happened. She admired your perfect figure once again. She thought to herself, "I never get tired of admiring it." She even mentally rated your figure out of 100, giving it 120. The extra 20 points were for your face.]
[Note 2: She glanced down instinctively, a little disappointed. She thought to herself, "Who in their right mind would wrap themselves in a towel while taking a bath alone? A towel is a shackle of human civilization, a cage that binds our true nature, a desecration of beauty." Of course, in every respect, she and beauty were old friends.]
Wayne stared at the panel and remained silent for a moment.
He pulled the towel down a little.
Emily quickly looked away.
"Um... Mr. Wayne..."
"Um."
"I...I didn't mean to..."
"I know."
"Well, I'll be going now..."
"Why don't you stay and take a bath?"
"Um... haha... it's not impossible."
Wayne grabbed a bath towel from the shelf and handed it to him.
Then Wayne closed his eyes and resumed his languid state.
"Emily".
"Um……"
Are you cold?
"No, it's not cold."
"That's good."
Another silence followed.
"Mr. Wayne... could I...?"
"Um?"
"Could I... move a little closer to you?"
"Aren't you cold?"
"It's cold now."
……
Half an hour isn't a long time.
But accidents always happen unexpectedly.
Just as Emily was at her most relaxed, the bathroom door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
"Hey! Human! I heard you're back?"
Hena stood in the doorway, her pink hair disheveled, her nightgown wrinkled, and one of her slippers on the wrong feet. Her eyes weren't fully open; she had clearly just woken up.
Then she saw the scene in the bathroom.
boom!
The door was closed again.
Emily sat on the other side of the pool, frozen in place, like a statue that had been acupunctured. Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly.
She kept her head down, her voice barely audible, like a mosquito's buzz.
"Um... Mr. Wayne..."
"Um."
"Um, um, um... I... I... I'll go now..."
Before she could finish speaking, shadows surged up from beneath her feet like a pool of black water, and she sank into it. Before she could even say goodbye, the shadows closed in and she vanished.
The panel appeared before Wayne's eyes.
[Hena - Current Status]
[Status: Soul Shock. Her thoughts have returned to the moment of the universe's creation. This is not an exaggeration, but literally. She needs time to reboot herself. Even just a moment is enough for her soul to temporarily leave her body. Most likely, she'll find an excuse when she wakes up, such as not being used to the human body. While the human body does have some impact on Hena to a certain extent, anyone facing a defeat CG would see it as a brutal battle.]
[Note: The person who ran away never cared about winning or losing. The important thing is, and you know what that important thing is... the goddess saw your smile, and she's watching you too.]
[Note 2: Hena has completely come to see you as a fallen priest. If you weren't fallen, how do you explain becoming friends with the devil? Today's events have only solidified her belief. A respectable priest wouldn't be in the bathroom with a witch, much less be caught by a devil and remain unfazed. She's even starting to wonder if all your previous "goddess-like" pronouncements were just made up.]
[P.S.: She decided to postpone pursuing this matter. Not because she didn't want to, but because her mind was currently filled with the birth and destruction of the universe. The high density of information was overwhelming her. She'd deal with it tomorrow when her mind was clearer. Whether she'd be clear-headed by tomorrow was a matter for tomorrow.]
When Wayne came out of the bathroom, Hena was still standing in the hallway. Her face was red, like a peach blossom in full bloom.
Wayne walked up to her.
"Why are you, a demon from the abyss, making such a fuss after becoming human?"
Hena looked up.
"Making a fuss? Who's making a fuss?" She deliberately raised her voice, maintaining her devilish pride. "I was just passing by. Passing by, don't you understand? The bathroom is at the end of the corridor, and my room is in the middle of the corridor. I came out of my room to get water from the kitchen. As I passed the bathroom door, I heard some noise inside and thought a thief had broken in, so I pushed the door open to check."
Wayne clearly didn't believe it.
"Then what are you shy about?"
"I'm not shy! It's just an instinctive reaction."
"Oh?"
"Really." Hena's tone became serious as she explained, "Think about it, the perception of a demon's body and a human body are worlds apart."
She paused, as if organizing her thoughts.
"The senses of demons are... dull. Why are the demons in the abyss so keen on possessing humans? It's because the human body can amplify their senses. However, even with possession, the senses unlocked won't exceed one percent. That one percent is enough to make the demons in the abyss flock to it."
Wayne looked at Hena.
"so what?"
"So now I have my own body, not a possession, but a body that is completely my own. The unlocking of my senses isn't one percent, it's one hundred percent. Of course, the outcome is different."
"Isn't that because you're shy?"
"I don't."
"You have."
"I don't."
"You have……"
