The evening before I left.

The setting sun painted the church spire a dark red.

Wayne sat at the stone table in the backyard, holding a scripture in his hand, his eyes on the pages, but he wasn't reading.

He was thinking about leaving tomorrow.

To be honest, he still missed the days he spent in Frosttown, especially the milk wine served by Lina, Lia, and Lisie at the tavern—it was so flavorful. He wondered if he would ever have the chance to drink it again after leaving.

The backyard door was pushed open.

Hena stood at the door.

She looked rather disheveled. Her long pink hair was a mess, with a few strands clinging to her cheeks. Her skirt was covered in mud and withered leaves, and a tear in the hem revealed a slender leg. There were a few small, shallow scratches on her face, which had already scabbed over.

But Wayne's gaze only lingered on her face for a moment before moving downwards. It wasn't that his eyes were wrong; it was that Hena had indeed changed.

She used to be A, now she's B. It wasn't squeezed out, it wasn't padded, it's real, from the inside out, it grew out naturally.

She's grown taller; before she reached his chest, now she's almost at his chin. Her features are still the same, but her contours are a bit more defined, transforming her from a little girl into a young woman.

The panel then appeared.

[Hena - Status Update]

[Reason for the physical changes: The expedition to Snowfall Ridge successfully yielded the "Heart of Frost," which was consumed several days ago. The Heart of Frost is a rare mineral nurtured in the extreme cold, possessing remarkable effects on perfecting a demon's body. After consumption, Hena's human body advanced from "initial formation" to "stable formation," with improvements in all physical indicators. From A to B, her height increased from 145cm to 158cm, her magic capacity doubled, and her physical strength increased by approximately 50%.]

[Note: She originally intended to stay in Snowfall Ridge for a few more days to fully absorb the effects of Frostheart before returning. However, the demonic surge in the North came sooner than she anticipated, forcing her to leave ahead of schedule. To make her journey faster, she used demonic teleportation three times in succession, each teleportation consuming a large amount of stamina and mana. By the time she arrived in Frosttown, she was barely able to stand.]

Hena leaned against the door frame, catching her breath.

"Humans, do you have water?"

Wayne stood up from the stone bench, walked up to her, and looked her up and down.

"How did you get into this state?"

Hena waved her hand, too lazy to explain.

Wayne poured a glass of water from the table and handed it to her. Hena took it, tilted her head back and gulped it down. She drank it so fast that water spilled from the corner of her mouth and ran down her chin.

After finishing her water, she slammed the cup down on the table.

"Humans, get out of here! A massive demonic surge has broken out in the north. Several ruined towns in the north have been razed to the ground; I saw it with my own eyes."

Wayne's brow twitched slightly.

"A thousand-year-old purple sun?"

"Yes." Hena's tone was half an octave heavier than usual. "The Millennium Purple Sun hasn't arrived yet, but the aura of the abyss has already begun to seep outwards. The demons in the Northern Territory are becoming restless earlier and in greater numbers than in previous years. This isn't a small-scale demonic surge; it's a large-scale, multi-wave, and continuous uprising."

She paused.

"On my way back, I encountered several groups of monsters heading towards the Northern Territory. There were a lot of second and third-tier monsters, and occasionally even fourth-tier ones."

Wayne got up to go find Thomas and ask him to inform Wilford to prepare to leave early.

Then, as soon as he turned around, his hand was grabbed.

He turned his head and his gaze fell on Hena's face.

Her face turned slightly red.

"Human, wait a moment." Hena's hand didn't loosen. "I'm injured. Please heal me first."

She blushed and added another sentence.

"You know it. Same old rule."

Wayne was certainly aware of this old rule.

This isn't the first time.

From the time Hena was still a demon, the old rules remained the same. The goddess's admonition, the baptism of heaven, the abyss demon embraced by holy light. The process was always similar, but the details were always different. Hena could always find a new angle, a new method, a new reason to give the same process a completely different feel.

The panel popped up at this point.

[Hena - Current Status]

[Injury: Mild magic exhaustion, physical stability decreased by approximately 20%. The trip to Snowfall Ridge consumed a significant amount of her physical and magical energy, and the three consecutive demonic teleportations only exacerbated the situation. Her body is currently in a "low-power operation" state and urgently needs external magical replenishment.]

[As per tradition: This specifically refers to the Goddess's Instruction Ritual. The ritual is presided over by Wayne, with Hena's cooperation. During the ritual, Wayne must infuse Hena's body with water magic of a specific intensity to help stabilize her body, restore her magic power, and enhance the harmony between her soul and body. Hena has unilaterally defined this ritual as a "routine church treatment," even though such a therapy has never been recorded in the medical manuals of the Wiggins Church.]

[Note: Hena had been enduring this for the entire journey back. From the North to Frosthold, hundreds of miles away, she had considered stopping several times to find a place to deal with it herself, but each time reason prevailed. Her own efforts were far less effective than Wayne's. She had grown accustomed to Wayne's version; she didn't want any other.]

[Note 2: Her physical condition isn't actually bad right now. Her injuries aren't serious, and her magic depletion is within acceptable limits. The reason she's in such a hurry to heal is because she's accumulated a lot during her absence. Not injuries, but... longing. Yes, longing. She even paused for a moment when she used that word.]

Wayne turned his gaze from the panel to Hena.

"Where is the injury?"

Hena immediately said.

"Here, here... and there..."

"You're injured all over; you need to be more careful."

Wayne was busy with her.

"Could you be more specific?"

Hena's ears turned even redder.

Hena was speechless.

Wayne smiled and said.

"Alright, I'll stop teasing you and start treating you..."

After half an hour.

The door to the examination room opened.

Hena came out, her hair was tied up again, the scratches on her face had completely disappeared, her skin was much brighter than when she went in, and she even walked with a breezy air.

Ella stood at the corner of the corridor, holding a tray with two glasses of freshly poured warm water on it. She had come to deliver the water, but stopped a few steps from the door.

Because she saw Hena.

"Sister Vivian? You're back?"

Hena leaned against the door frame, stretched, and looked like a cat that had just woken up.

"Um."

Ella's gaze swept over her, from her face to her shoulders, from her shoulders to her chest, and from her chest to her waist. She noticed some changes; she was taller and...more muscular than before she left.

But she didn't ask.

Hena's gaze lingered on Ella for a moment.

Then her eyebrows twitched slightly, and the corners of her mouth slowly turned up, a smile that wasn't deep, but it was genuine.

"Ella".

"Um?"

"You've been getting quite close to your crush lately?"

Ella's ears turned slightly red.

"I pray every day."

Hena nodded and didn't ask any further questions.

She no longer needed to ask further; with her experience, she could tell many things at a glance. Ella's aura had changed; it was more composed and, more... intense than before.

Hena turned her gaze back.

"My cousin is packing his things inside, you can go in."
