Ella reacted extremely quickly.

The moment Wayne finished speaking, a visible chill shot out from her fingertips, striking precisely the right arm that was holding the whip.

A thin layer of frost spread visibly from his wrist to his elbow, freezing his entire forearm and the whip into a solid block of ice.

Ben let out a scream. The sudden, bone-chilling cold made his entire arm go numb, and the whip slipped from his hand, falling to the ground and shattering into several pieces of ice.

"What...what have you done to me? This is an attack on a nobleman!"

Wayne ignored him.

He crouched down to be at eye level with the wolf girl.

The wolf girl stared at him warily with her vertical pupils, shrinking back slightly and letting out a low growl, as if warning him not to come any closer.

Wayne didn't speak; he simply opened his right hand, and a ball of blue water condensed in his palm.

The water sphere was full of life.

Then he gently pushed the water balloon forward.

The wolf girl's nostrils twitched slightly.

She lowered her head, staring at the water sphere floating in front of her for a long while. Then she slowly raised her hand, her fingertips carefully touching the surface of the water sphere.

The water sphere spread rapidly around her the moment it touched her, healing her old and new wounds.

Just then, a furious roar rang out.

"Die!"

When Cavens burst out from the street corner, no one reacted. He was still clutching a dagger, his eyes bloodshot.

It was clearly coming for him.

He dragged his frozen arms backward.

"Cavens?! What...what do you want to do?!"

"I'm your brother, don't do anything reckless."

Calvins didn't give him a chance to finish speaking.

The dagger plunged down.

The first knife was plunged into Ben's lower abdomen.

Ben's screams sounded like a chicken being choked.

"ah--!"

"How dare you, the son of a prostitute!"

With each swift stroke, Cavens unleashed a frenzied barrage of stabs.

"This blow is my way of avenging you on behalf of the wolf girl."

The second knife landed on his chest.

"This stab is what you've owed me all these years."

The third cut, the fourth cut.

The blade rose and fell with such speed that it seemed to pierce through all the grievances and anger that had been bottled up for a lifetime.

Ben's screams grew weaker and weaker, eventually turning into a tearful plea for mercy.

"It hurts...it hurts so much...please...don't kill me...I was wrong...I was really wrong..."

The street was quiet for a moment.

Cavens gripped the blood-stained dagger, head bowed, staring at his trembling hands, muttering to himself, "I killed him... haha... I really killed him... hahahaha..."

His laughter became manic.

The surrounding crowd erupted in uproar.

"Murder! Murder!"

"Isn't that Bishop Freddie's eldest son?"

"Oh my god...his brother stabbed him?"

"What...what's going on here...?"

"Quickly! Go and call the guards!"

Chaos erupted in the streets. Some screamed and backed away, while others turned and ran. A few bolder individuals peeked out from behind stalls, their eyes fixed on Ben lying in a pool of blood, then on Cavens, who stood there holding a dagger. Their expressions shifted from shock to terror, and then from terror to a strange, inexplicable excitement.

A series of hurried and heavy footsteps came from afar.

"Get out of the way! Everyone get out of the way!"

"Guards on duty! All unauthorized personnel, please stand aside!"

A squad of city guards in leather armor pushed through the crowd and rushed in. The captain, a middle-aged man in his early forties with a full beard and a standard longsword at his waist, led the way. He charged into the circle, his gaze first sweeping over Ben lying on the ground, then landing on Cavens, whose hands were covered in blood, and his brows furrowed instantly.

"Put down your weapons!"

The guards behind him drew their swords in unison, the blades gleaming coldly in the sunlight, and partially surrounded Cavendish.

On the other side, the wolf girl Fura also crawled up beside Cavens, letting out a threatening howl at everyone around her.

Seeing that he didn't react, the captain gave a signal to the guards beside him. Two guards immediately stepped forward, grabbed Cavens' arms on either side, and forced him to the ground. The dagger slipped from his hand, clattered to the stone pavement, bounced twice, and rolled into the ditch by the roadside.

Cavens was pinned to the ground, his face pressed against the cold stone slab. He didn't struggle or argue, as if he had lost all strength to fight back.

The captain crouched down and reached out to check Ben's breath.

Then his expression changed.

He jumped to his feet and waved to the guards behind him: "Quickly! Go and fetch the priest! Also, notify the church! Tell them that Bishop Freddie's son... has been assassinated in the street!"

Two guards immediately broke away and ran towards the church. Just then, Ben, who had been lying in a pool of blood, suddenly twitched a finger. Then his whole hand. He used his palm to support himself on the ground and slowly sat up.

Everyone around was stunned.

Holy crap!

"He...he's not dead?"

"Didn't you just bleed a lot?"

"Is this...is this a manifestation of the goddess?"

His gaze fell on his clean hands.

The nails were neatly trimmed, free of dirt, frostbite, and the scars that had become commonplace in the last few years.

Memories of my previous life flooded back.

In his previous life, he was bewitched by a demon and defiled his own younger brother. After his father's death, he lost his support, his family fell into ruin, and he was separated from his wife and children. His five children were sold into slavery, and he couldn't even protect one of them. Ironically, it was Cavens who found him in his most desperate moment. Instead of killing him, Cavens kept him captive, poisoned him to make him mute, and rendered him a complete cripple. And his three daughters all eventually married Cavens.

He knelt on the ground, trembling all over.

"I'm alive... I'm alive again..."

"Ha ha ha ha!"

"I'm alive again!"

The people around looked at each other in bewilderment.

"What's wrong with him?"

"Did he get stabbed and become stupid?"

"With so much blood loss, it's normal for him to have brain problems..."

Emma tugged at Lavin's sleeve and whispered, "Master, has he gone mad?"

Wayne did not answer immediately.

The panel unfolded in his field of vision.

[Ben Freddy Status Update]

[Status: Reborn]

[Note: On his deathbed, Ben regained all his memories of his past life, all of which showed him living in poverty and being separated from his wife and children after his father's death. Cavens, in revenge, even married three of his daughters.]

[Note: He decided to change all of this.]

[Note 2: He decided to be a good person.]

[Note 3: At this moment, he secretly vowed in his heart that he would never touch his younger brother again in his life, and would never allow anyone to hurt him.]

This development was completely unexpected.

Ben got up from the ground, still covered in blood, but he ignored his injuries. He pushed aside the guards who tried to help him and staggered over to Cavens, who was still being held down on the ground.

He pushed the soldier away and said.

"Letting him go has nothing to do with him."
