Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 304 My sister has completely changed.
Dinner at the Marquis's mansion was very lavish.
The long table was laden with a variety of dishes: golden-brown roasted ribs, fish drizzled with thick sauce, several delicate pastries whose names I didn't know, and a steaming bowl of cream soup.
Lynch sat at the head of the table, clearly in a very good mood, frequently raising his glass, praising Wayne for "having the same style as his father," and then turning to Emma and the others to ask, "Do you like the food?" Wayne didn't respond much, only occasionally uttering a word, his gaze mostly fixed on the plate in front of him.
Alice sat across from Wayne, chatting casually with Emma and Ella as she ate.
"How did you meet my brother?" Alice put down her spoon, her tone full of curiosity. "He's always been a quiet person, keeping everything to himself. I've always wondered how someone like him could have found you on the street."
Emma, upon hearing the question, immediately launched into a long-winded explanation. She swallowed her first bite of meat, wiped her mouth, and began to recount her story vividly, from her encounter with Audrian to Wayne's teachings in the churchyard, and then to her journey south. She gestured as she spoke, almost knocking over the cup beside her when she got excited.
Alice listened attentively, nodding occasionally and chuckling softly, her gaze shifting back and forth between Emma and Ella.
After listening, Alice turned her gaze to Vera.
"Where's Vera?"
Vera was taken aback by the address: "I... I was rescued from Blackrock Village by the Lord... If it weren't for the Lord, I might have died on the road long ago." She paused, her voice lowering slightly, "The Lord gave me a new life and brought me to the capital... I never thought I could live such a life."
Aya, being a bit timid, nodded shyly when Alice asked him.
"Um... it was the master who made me a swordsman, so I am very grateful to him."
Alice was quite satisfied with everyone's answers.
Just then, the panel appeared.
[Alice Angus - Status]
[Status: Happy mood.]
She knew that liking her brother was never allowed, and she knew you were someone she could never have. But she had long ago considered you her personal possession. No one else was allowed to have you in any way. So she asked the cook to add something to the food tonight.
[Note 2: She had the cook add a magic potion that could make women like other women. She may not have you, but she can have all your women, so you belong to no one.]
[Note 3: It's clear your sister is a yandere.]
After looking at the panel, Wayne, who usually wouldn't even blink if the sky were to fall, became unsettled.
Heavens above!
Which deity managed to switch his adorable little sister with his? Before he left the capital, Alice was a sweet girl who would stand at the door to see him off, her eyes red with tears, saying, "Brother, come back soon." How did she evolve into adding those magical potions to his food after all these years? How come he never noticed this hidden trait in Alice before? And is this incestuous relationship even real?!
Alice noticed his gaze, looked up, and gave him a sweet smile: "Brother, what's wrong?"
"……fine."
Wayne looked away, glanced down at the half-eaten cream soup in front of him, and then at the empty plates in front of Emma and Ella.
Emma scooped up the last spoonful of soup and put it in her mouth, her eyes squinting with satisfaction. "It's so delicious! Miss Alice, how is this soup made? What's in it?"
Alice smiled slightly, her tone natural: "Nothing special, just a little bit of spices that the cook at home makes herself. I'm glad Miss Emma likes it."
Emma nodded repeatedly.
"I love it! I love it so much!"
"If you like it, I'll make it for you again next time."
Seeing Emma's silly expression, Wayne fell completely silent.
His water magic could indeed purify most negative status effects, including potions. If he wanted, he could silently neutralize the potency in their bodies at any time. But the key issue wasn't whether he could cure it, but why his seemingly obedient and sensible sister had ended up like this.
He must deal with this matter, and he must deal with it seriously.
However, now is not the right time.
It seems I'll have to find some time to have a proper talk with Alice in private.
Wayne put down his spoon and then, as if nothing had happened, naturally changed the subject: "Alice, thank you for taking care of things at home while I was away all these years."
Alice paused for a moment, then smiled and shook her head: "Brother, what are you saying? Father's affairs should be shared by us. Since you're not home, I naturally have to worry more."
Lin Qi looked at his daughter with great satisfaction, then turned to Wayne and asked, "So, son, how long are you planning to stay this time?"
Wayne did not answer immediately.
He wiped his mouth, put down his napkin, and then calmly said, "My main task in returning this time is to report to the Holy See. After completing the report, I will most likely remain in the capital and not return to the border."
Lin Qi's expression shifted from cautious to stunned, then from stunned to ecstatic, finally erupting into a hearty laugh: "Good! Good! That's my good son! You should have come back long ago! That harsh, desolate borderland is no place for the Angus family. Stay in the capital, stay home, and whatever happens, we'll face it together, father and son!"
As he spoke, he raised his glass, tilted his head back, and drank it all in one gulp.
Alice wasn't as outgoing as Lynch, but the smile in her eyes said it all. She didn't say much, just smiled slightly at Wayne: "It's so good that you can stay, brother."
The panel appears at the appropriate time.
[Lynch Angus - Current Status]
Status: Happy
[Reason: He is indeed very happy that you are willing to stay in the capital. But 30% of that happiness is due to the reunion of father and son, and the remaining 70% is because he can finally show off in front of his old rivals. His eldest son, who was sent to the harsh borderlands and everyone thought was ruined, not only returned alive but also won the Goddess's Judgment and personally killed a fifth-tier knight vice-commander. These things, if presented in social situations, will be enough for him to brag about until the middle of next year.]
[Note: He had already mentally planned out the banquets for the coming week. Monday: dinner with the bishop; Tuesday: tea with the viscount; Wednesday: cards with the baron. The central theme of each event was the same: boasting about his son's return.]
[Note 2: He's even considering commissioning a court painter to create a portrait of you two, father and son, to hang in the most prominent place in the living room.]
Wayne accidentally blurted out his inner thoughts.
"...I knew it."
Lin Qi blinked: "Son, what do you know?"
Wayne glanced at him, but didn't reveal the contents of the panel. He simply replied, "It's nothing."
After dinner, Wayne didn't exchange any more pleasantries with the others.
For some reason, he felt quite tired these days, and since he had a performance review tomorrow, he went to bed early.
