Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong

Chapter 396 Shape Transformation Unrelated to Rules

This person was Agatha Christie, something Wayne hadn't expected.

Lillian's great-aunt.

The witch who had been missing for over a decade was hiding here and had even become the city lord's wife.

He led Reka and began to retreat.

Just as the two were about to turn and leave, a lazy voice came from behind: "Little Eight, where are you going?"

Wayne stopped moving.

Agatha was still clutching the chain in her hand.

The city lord, lying on the ground at the other end of the chain, had his collar yanked loudly as it was pulled.

"Wife...who are you calling?"

The city lord's throat was a little dry.

Agatha ignored him.

She sat cross-legged on the chair, the chain loosely wrapped around her hand twice. Her gaze traveled a dozen steps, then fixed on Wayne, her eyes crinkling slightly at the corners.

Wayne scratched his head.

"Um... I've gone to the wrong place."

He turned to leave after he finished speaking.

"stop!"

Vinreka was standing there at the same time.

"It's over, looks like we can't leave now," Wayne thought.

Agatha stood up from her chair and walked over, stopping five steps away from Wayne.

"Password."

Wayne paused for a moment.

Password? What password?

He subconsciously tilted his head towards Reika and lowered his voice, "Reika, do you know the password?"

Reika was still in a daze.

"Young...Young Master, I don't know..."

Wayne's mind raced.

There are only two possibilities for the "password" Agatha asked for: either it's some rule set up by the city lord's wife in the mansion that he doesn't know about, or it's something personal to Agatha, related to her identity as a "semi-sleeper".

He doesn't know which one it is right now.

"I don't remember the password," Wayne readily admitted. "I had a fever a couple of days ago, and my mind isn't quite right yet."

Agatha smiled as she stared at Wayne.

"fever?"

She reached out and pinched Wayne's cheek, pinching it quite hard, like kneading dough.

"Looks like another lost soul."

The city lord strolled over. He had been crawling on the ground for a while, and the red marks on his knees hadn't faded yet; his gait was also a bit awkward.

"Honey, who's there?"

He frowned and looked Wayne up and down, then realized he didn't recognize the boy in front of him.

"Where's the butler?" The city lord turned to Agatha. "Whose child is this? How did he get into the backyard?"

Agatha glanced at him.

He slapped him on the head.

The city lord was knocked off balance and trembled twice.

"Why did you hit me..." He sounded aggrieved, his voice even becoming nasal.

"This is your eighth son. He had a fever for two days, and you didn't even care, and now you can't even remember your own son's face?"

The city lord opened his mouth, wanting to argue something, but before he could speak, a strange flood of information suddenly rushed into his mind.

He was suddenly jolted awake, replaced by a sense of sudden realization and closeness.

"Oh! It's the Eighth Prince!"

He strode over and slapped Wayne hard on the shoulders with both hands, almost making him shrink in size.

"I was wondering why you looked so familiar! You silly child, you ran off to wander around as soon as you got better without even telling your father. You should go back inside and rest; your fever has just gone down, don't catch a cold again."

Wayne was feeling quite uncomfortable under the pressure.

But at that moment, a bold guess formed in his mind.

"Perhaps Agatha is awake right now!"

Otherwise, why would she have used the word "lost"?

"Perhaps the breakthrough point upon entering this place can be starting with her."

Wayne became more and more excited as he thought about it.

He looked at Agatha, hesitated for two seconds, and then tentatively uttered a name.

"Lillian?"

The chains in Agatha's hands snapped taut. Her gaze towards Wayne changed, replaced by a more direct scrutiny.

"What did you say?"

The city lord stood to the side, looking bewildered, glancing back and forth between the two.

"Lillian? What Lillian? What are you talking about?"

Wayne ignored him.

His gaze remained fixed on Agatha.

Do you know Lillian?

Agatha laughed quickly.

The surprise Wayne brought was something she hadn't expected.

The city lord was about to approach.

"You may leave."

The city lord stood there, stunned.

"Now. Right now."

Her tone left no room for argument. The city lord didn't dare say anything more, shrinking back and turning to leave. The chains dragged on the ground with a harsh scraping sound. After a few steps, he remembered that the collar around his neck was still on, so he bent down and hurriedly untied it himself, placing the chain at Agatha's feet before disappearing behind the storeroom without looking back.

Wayne glanced at Reika.

Reka understood immediately.

"Young master, please be careful."

After Reka's footsteps faded into the distance, the warehouse fell silent.

Agatha stood before Wayne, her voice now filled with barely suppressed urgency.

"Child, are you one of the awakened ones?"

Wayne nodded.

She took two steps to Wayne, squatted down, and grabbed his shoulders with both hands.

"Tell me quickly, how is that girl doing now? How did you two meet?"

Wayne didn't beat around the bush.

"She's doing very well now."

Agatha's shoulders visibly relaxed.

"She also awakened her witch constitution and has now gone to Kansas with the cult."

"Awakening? A cult?"

Agatha repeated it to herself.

She released Wayne's shoulders.

"Tell me from the beginning. Explain everything clearly, one thing at a time. Lillian is a witch now? What cult? Is it that Kansas one?"

Wayne organized his words and gave a general account of Lillian's awakening of her constitution, her search for the Witch Cult, and how she later changed course and went to Kansas due to the changing situation in the capital.

Agatha breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this.

As long as my granddaughter is safe and sound, that's all that matters.

Agatha felt much better.

She bent down to pick up the iron chain from the ground, casually rolled it up twice and draped it over the back of the chair, then turned her head to look around the storage room.

"Come on, kid, this isn't the place to talk. Come with me."

Wayne nodded.

Agatha led Wayne through two corridors and into a secluded guest room. The room was small and simply furnished, with a low table, two cushions, and an old wooden cabinet in the corner.

She took a box of tea leaves from the cupboard, rubbed them between her fingers, and the teapot simmered with hot water. As she pushed the teacup towards Wayne, Agatha gave him a once-over.

"Child, how did you get into this godforsaken place, being so young?"

Wayne paused for a moment as he drank from his teacup.

"Senior, I'm already twenty-one, not young anymore. Besides, I'm here on orders."

Agatha's brow furrowed even more.

"Twenty-one? By orders? By whose orders?"

Wayne didn't intend to hide too much.

"By order of Queen Evelyn, I have come to retrieve the lost forbidden artifact."

"Then how could you..." Agatha pointed at his body, gesturing with her finger in the air, "like this?"

Wayne looked at Agatha with a puzzled expression.

"Senior, isn't my current state due to the rules of this place? I remember being swallowed by the mist outside the city and shrunk when I woke up."

Agatha shook her head.

"That's not right! The rules here do assign new identities to everyone, but they don't directly change a person's physical body. The way you are now has nothing to do with the rules of this place."
