Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong

Chapter 414 Emily's Mischief

Hogan's reaction was not exaggerated.

Of the awakened beings in this city, nine out of ten cannot maintain their strength. Even if they are sixth-tier powerhouses outside, once they enter the City of Eternal Slumber, the rules suppress them, and they're lucky if they can even perform at the mid-stage of the third tier.

Most of the awakened individuals had their strength reduced to below the third rank from the moment they awoke, and were thus trapped in this city, never able to reach their former heights again.

With that last strike, Wayne clearly demonstrated that he had already stepped into the threshold of the fourth tier.

This is what truly alarmed Hogan.

A child who appears to be twelve or thirteen years old, yet is skilled in both physical and magical techniques, capable of both offense and defense, and can still maintain a fourth-tier combat strength under these suppressive rules. If this were to get out, none of the old hands in the dungeon would believe it.

On the other side, at the corner of the alley.

Emily walked beside Wayne and suddenly asked, "Sir, what exactly is your current strength?"

Wayne didn't turn around, nor did he stop walking.

"To be honest, I'm not entirely sure myself. I was really suppressed after entering the city, but I've been slowly loosening up these past two days. When I fought Hogan just now, I felt like I unlocked another layer."

"So, your strength is still recovering?" Emily's tone was clearly surprised.

"Um."

"How could this be?" Emily frowned. "Logically, the rules should apply equally to everyone, so why are you lifting the restrictions instead?"

Wayne thought for a moment: "It might be related to water magic."

"Water magic?"

"You know, my water magic has always been very special."

After listening, Emily agreed with Wayne's statement.

She glanced at her shadow and sighed, "Master can still use the fourth tier after the seal is broken, but I'm far behind. I can only unleash about the second tier at most. I can't even use Shadow Teleportation, so I can't run very far."

[Emily - Current Status Update]

[Status: Strength suppressed to Tier 2; Shadow Teleportation temporarily unavailable. Ranged mobility significantly reduced.]

[Note: Although her sigh was quite sincere, the regret that Shadow Teleportation couldn't be used to escape only accounted for 20% of her sadness.]

[Note 2: The remaining 80% is because after feeling sad, they can no longer use Shadow Teleport to sneak around and be a mischievous kid.]

To be honest, the panel display wasn't surprising to Wayne.

after all……

He was well aware of Emily's mischievousness.

On the other side, Bill walked in front, just a dozen steps ahead of Wayne and the others.

The distance was carefully chosen. As the know-it-all of this underground city, she knew better than anyone which things to listen to and which things not to listen to.

Before long, the three of them arrived at the hotel.

Bill stopped at the door, turned around and grinned at Wayne: "Big brother, we're here. That's all for today, I'm heading back now."

She paused, then added, "If you want to ask me anything more tomorrow, find me at the square, the usual place."

Without saying much, Wayne took a silver magic coin from his pocket and tossed it to her. Bill caught it quickly, glanced at it, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, but he quickly put it away.

"Thanks, brother." She stuffed the silver coins into her bosom, turned and ran, her small figure quickly disappearing around the corner of the alley.

After Bill disappeared into the alley, Emily looked away and glanced at Wayne.

"Sir, this young guide is quite interesting. He's young, but very wary."

"Having lived in the dungeon for thirteen years, you wouldn't have survived this long without being a little wary."

"That's true." Emily nodded.

The two then entered the hotel. Behind the counter, Mary was calculating the bill when she heard the door open and looked up.

She saw Wayne, and then she saw a young girl behind Wayne. Her gaze swept between the two of them before she quickly looked away, a cryptic smile appearing on her face.

"Young man, you're back?"

"Um."

"Your room is still reserved, the same one as before." Mary put down the ledger, took out a brass key from under the counter, and tossed it to him.

Wayne took the keys and glanced at Mary.

"Boss lady, how long have you been here?"

Mary continued working, casually replying, "I can't remember, five or six years? Six or seven? Anyway, I've lost track of time."

"Didn't you ever think about leaving?"

Mary smiled helplessly upon hearing this.

"Get out? You're lucky to be alive, let alone thinking about getting out?"

She sighed as she spoke.

"I wish we could really get out."

Mary rested her chin on her hand, then suddenly seemed to remember something and said to Wayne, "Oh, right, young man, you should have registered to climb the rankings, right?"

"What's wrong, boss lady?"

"It's nothing serious," Mary continued. "Just a reminder that every registered trial participant needs to take on the cleanup quest for tonight. Kill monsters to earn points and contribute to the dungeon while you're at it."

She paused, then added, "After completing the three missions, you won't need to pay an entry fee of one silver magic coin each time you come down."

Wayne raised an eyebrow slightly: "Is there anything else?"

"This is the usual rule."

"Thanks for reminding me."

"You're welcome."

Wayne led Emily upstairs.

When they reached the door of the innermost room, Wayne took out his key, opened the door, and stepped aside to let her go in first.

Emily lay down on the big bed first.

"Sir, do I need to register too?"

"I'll take you tomorrow." Wayne tossed the keys on the table and sat down. "It's too late today, the registration office is already closed. We'll talk about it tomorrow morning."

"So tonight... can I go with you on that cleanup mission?"

Wayne glanced at her.

"cannot."

"Why? Even though I'm being suppressed, I'm still at the second tier, and I can still handle most first-tier monsters."

"You're too weak, you should rest first."

Emily was about to say something when Wayne interrupted her, "We'll talk about it tomorrow. You should focus on getting better first. There's plenty of work to do later, one more night won't make a difference."

Emily opened her mouth, but ultimately didn't object. She nodded, "Alright, I'll do as you say, sir."

I thought that was the end of it.

The next second, Emily suddenly sat up in bed and looked straight at Wayne.

"Sir, would you like to take a bath with me?"

Wayne paused, thinking he had misheard.

"What?"

"I said, let's take a bath together." Emily's face lit up with a playful smile. "I've heard that people experience different sensations at different ages, and now that you have this new body..."

Wayne rejected her without hesitation.

"no."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm afraid."

Emily was taken aback: "What are you afraid of?"

Wayne's expression was very serious: "I'm afraid that if we're washing here, the goddess won't be able to stand it and will send down a bolt of lightning to kill you."

Emily paused for a moment, then couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Sir, you really know how to joke."
