Wayne did not answer. He stretched out his hand, spread his five fingers, and a light blue halo appeared in his palm.

Water elements in the air began to converge in his direction, forming visible streams that swirled, coiled, and condensed in mid-air. A staff, entirely azure blue, slowly emerged from the water, its blade engraved with winding dragon patterns, and a blue gemstone at its tip emitting a soft glow.

The arrogant water dragon king.

Hogan's pupils contracted sharply.

Before he could take a closer look, Wayne had already moved.

The moment he grasped the staff, magic surged from his body, but it was quickly suppressed by the rules of the City of Eternal Sleep. When it was circulating, it was as if someone had stuffed sand into a water pipe, making it extremely sluggish.

He frowned slightly, forcefully resisting the oppressive force, and pushed the magic out.

The sapphire at the top of the staff suddenly lit up.

Rain began to appear out of nowhere.

First a single drop, then a whole patch; countless raindrops gathered around Wayne, forming a semi-transparent stream.

The water surged, swirled, and tightened, gradually condensing into a water dragon in the dimly lit alley.

The dragon's body was about three zhang long and was completely translucent.

Wayne didn't give Hogan time to react.

The staff pointed forward.

"Rain Dragon".

The water dragon opened its massive mouth and crashed down with overwhelming force.

Huo instinctively crossed his arms in front of him, trying to withstand the impact, but the force of the water jet hitting him was far beyond his expectations.

With a muffled boom, gravel flew everywhere.

The thick stone wall was smashed open, leaving a dent.

Not long after, Hogan coughed as he stood up from the pit.

He patted the rubble and dirt off his body, moved his arms a couple of times, and after confirming that his bones weren't broken, he suddenly burst out laughing.

"Good lad! I didn't expect you to be a dual cultivator of body and magic. Not bad, not bad, hahaha!"

Wayne didn't reply, but stood there watching him.

Hogan's laughter lasted for about three or four breaths, his expression became increasingly stiff, and his smile gradually became unnatural.

He probably realized it himself, his laughter gradually subsided, he coughed twice, turned his head to glance at his dumbfounded subordinates behind him, and then looked back at Wayne.

The panel popped up at that moment.

[Hogan - Current Status]

[Status: Outwardly calm as a rock, but actually his pants are soaked. The impact of that attack far exceeded his tolerance. To ease the embarrassment, he chose to cover it up with laughter.]

[Note: After a brief exchange, he clearly realized the difference in strength between them. Although he doesn't know your exact identity, he already considers you a powerful figure from the outside world—otherwise, how could you have beaten him so soundly?]

[Note 2: Face is important, but life is more important. He had already made up his mind: if things went wrong, he would kneel down and call you "father." After all, calling you "father" might be embarrassing for a moment, but losing your life would be a lifelong matter.]

After reading the panel, Wayne looked up at Hogan.

His lips twitched slightly.

"Are you alright?"

"It's nothing! What could possibly happen!" Hogan raised his voice a notch. "It's just... that move of yours was pretty impressive. I've never seen anything like it in my life."

His men behind him stood there, looking at each other, puzzled by their boss's move.

"Boss, are you alright?"

Heros asked tentatively.

"Shut up!"

Heros immediately shrank back.

Hogan took a deep breath, rubbed his trouser leg with two fingers, took a step towards Wayne, and lowered his voice: "This...this brother, I was wrong today. I admit defeat. If you let me off the hook, I, Hogan, will owe you a favor in this dungeon from now on."

After he finished speaking, he added, "Or... I could have those good-for-nothing bastards kowtow to you."

Wayne looked at him and put his staff away.

"No need to kowtow. Just don't bother her with Bill's matter again."

"Okay! Okay, okay!" Hogan nodded vigorously. "I promise I'll stay away from that kid from now on! I'll fight anyone who touches her!"

Without saying anything more, Wayne turned and walked back to Emily and Bill, whispering "Let's go." The three of them then walked through the group of Iron Fist gang members who were still in shock and headed out of the alley.

Hogan stood there watching them walk away until the three figures completely disappeared around the corner, then he let out a long sigh of relief.

Seeing Wayne and his two companions walk away, Heros approached again, a smile plastered on his face, but his tone held a hint of probing: "Boss, are we just going to let him go like that? No matter how good he is, he's still just a kid. There are plenty of us; if we all gang up on him, we're not afraid of taking him down."

Hogan didn't say anything, but turned and glanced at him.

Heros felt uneasy under that gaze, but still forced himself to add, "I just feel that our Iron Fist Gang has a reputation in this dungeon, and it wouldn't sound good if word got out that we were being overshadowed by some kid who hasn't even grown up yet..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

Hogan raised his hand and slapped him on the back of the head with such force that Heros staggered forward two steps and almost fell to the ground.

"Damn it, do you know how strong he is?"

Hogan's voice came from behind, low but chilling.

"If I hadn't blocked that water dragon attack just now, you'd be collecting my corpse right now. He was only spared before because he was kind enough not to kill you. Next time you see him, keep your eyes peeled, you hear me?"

Heros covered his head and nodded repeatedly, "I heard you, I heard you, boss, don't worry, I'll avoid that kid from now on..."

He readily agreed verbally, but inwardly he scoffed.

In his view, Hogan was simply terrified by that one move. A gang leader who had been in the underground for so many years was beaten into submission in public by a kid, and kept saying he "owed a favor." Where would the Iron Fist Gang's reputation be? Following someone like that would be a coward.

Hogan didn't say anything more.

He simply stared at Heros for two seconds.

Heros felt a little uncomfortable under his gaze and was about to say something to smooth things over when Hogan's leg moved.

Click.

A crisp sound of bone cracking echoed through the alley.

Before Heros could even let out a scream, the same sound came from the other leg.

He collapsed as if his bones had been removed, his two lower legs bent at an abnormal angle. The excruciating pain left him with no strength to even cry out; he could only lie on the ground, gasping for breath.

"Boss...you..."

Heros looked at Hogan in disbelief.

Hogan walked up to him, squatted down, and patted his sweaty face.

"You really think I can't read your mind?"

Heros shuddered, too pained to speak.

Hogan stood up and looked down at him.

"Insignificant ant, don't even dream of challenging the authority of any sixth-tier powerhouse. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking—thinking I'm a coward, thinking I'm a wimp, thinking you'll one day sit in my position?"

He bent down, his voice low and clear: "When I was out there making a living, you were still playing in the mud. I've survived this long because of my brain; I know who I can mess with and who I can't. That kid is one of the best among the sixth-tier fighters. You want me to go head-to-head with him?"

He kicked away a pebble at his feet.

"These two legs are a lesson for you. Once you've recovered, you either become a dutiful dog or get out of the dungeon."

He turned and walked out of the alley, with several of his men following closely behind. None of them dared to look at Heros lying on the ground.

Hogan stepped out of the alley, paused, glanced back at the direction of the underground city square, and muttered to himself:

"Strange...why would such an important person come to this dilapidated city?"
