Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong

Chapter 423 Battle against Waldo

Wayne didn't move; his fist clenched slightly.

However, he hasn't made a move yet.

A cold light flashed.

The tall, thin man's head had already fallen to the ground.

The three people behind him hadn't even realized what was happening when, in the same way, all three heads fell to the ground almost simultaneously.

The corpse and head slammed onto the mossy ground with a dull thud. Blood slowly seeped into the moss, staining a large area red.

The whole process took less than two breaths.

All four people are gone.

Wayne squinted and looked ahead.

A person emerged from the mushroom forest.

He was of medium height, around twenty years old, and his fingers twirled as the longsword danced in his hand.

He walked over through the pool of blood, stopped in front of the four corpses, looked down at them, then kicked the tall, thin man's head away, his tone tinged with disdain: "The scum sent by the Divine Servant Team today is getting worse and worse."

Upon seeing the person, Toren turned deathly pale. He stammered to Wayne, "That...that's the Butcher...the sixth-ranked Butcher in Black Hand..."

The butcher's panel quietly unfolded.

[Waldo - Character Information]

[Identity: One of the higher-ups in the Black Hand, ranked sixth on the leaderboard. A peak Tier 3 warrior with unpredictable swordsmanship.]

[Note: He is indeed listed on the rankings and is quite talented, but his fame didn't come from rankings, but from acting. He enjoys his acting, enjoying the fearful reactions of his prey.]

[Note 2: He didn't help you deal with those four people out of kindness. As for you, you were just a byproduct of the intimidation.]

Waldo touched his face, looking at the three of them as if they were corpses: "Oh dear, since you've seen my face, perhaps..."

He twirled his sword and pointed at the group.

"...You can all die together."

Torren turned pale and shouted at Logan.

"Logan, run! Run now!"

Although Logan wasn't very bright, he never hesitated to listen to his older brother. He turned and ran, staggering into the mushroom grove, quickly disappearing into the shadows.

Torun didn't run away.

He stood there, his forehead covered in sweat. He approached Wayne and said, "Young man, you should run too! This...this guy is a madman, killing anyone he sees. He's insane!"

Waldo paused for a moment.

He tilted his head, his gaze falling on Toren, and a slow smile spread across his lips.

"What did you just say?" Waldo, sword in hand, walked over step by step. "Killing everyone you see? Are you out of your mind? You're quite good at judging people."

Toren instinctively took a half step back.

Waldo has already made his move.

A flash of sword light, aimed straight for Toren's throat.

Torren's pupils contracted sharply; it was too late to dodge.

when!

A crisp sound.

The sword was stopped in mid-air.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Wayne had already positioned himself in front of Toren, wielding a condensed water blade that forcefully blocked Waldo's sword strike. The moment the water blade collided with the sword, a spray of water erupted.

Waldo's smile froze for a moment, then widened again, even more so than before.

"Oh? This little guy is interesting."

He sheathed his sword, turned his body, and the blade drew an arc from the side at a tricky angle, aiming straight for Wayne's waist.

Wayne dodged to the side, then flicked his water blade back, forcing Waldo to take a half-step back.

Waldo narrowed his eyes, shifted his stance, and unleashed three swift and ruthless sword strikes, each aimed at a vital point. Vayne parried and retreated, his water blades shattering several times before reforming.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Toren finally came to his senses. He turned and ran, rushing towards the direction where Logan had disappeared, without even daring to look back.

Waldo glanced at Toren's retreating figure, but didn't give chase. He looked away and said with displeasure, "Why are you protecting him? What do you owe him?"

He pointed the tip of his sword at the corpse on the ground: "These men were trying to kill you. I took care of them for you, and instead of being grateful, you stopped me from killing him. What kind of logic is that?"

Wayne didn't reply, and the water blade in his hand solidified again.

Waldo shook his head and chuckled, "Forget it, I'm going to defeat you anyway. Dead men don't need reasoning."

Before Waldo could finish speaking, his sword was already in front of Wayne.

"Let me show you what swordsmanship is all about."

Wayne sidestepped the blade, simultaneously slashing with his right hand towards Waldo's wrist with a water blade. Waldo sheathed his sword and thrust, twisting his toes as the blade passed under Wayne's armpit, aiming for his heart.

Wayne stepped back to avoid it, crushing a piece of ore under his foot.

He ducked to dodge the second sword strike, then kicked Waldo in the knee, forcing him to take a half-step back. The two clashed at the edge of the mushroom forest, the sounds of water blades clashing against longswords rapid and intense, giving each other almost no chance to catch their breath.

Waldo's expression grew increasingly strange as the fight progressed. He had initially thought this was just an arrogant brat who wouldn't last more than three or five sword strikes before collapsing to the ground.

But the child in front of him was as agile as an eel. Every time the water blade was cleaved, it would quickly reform and come at him from all sorts of angles.

What made him most uncomfortable was that his opponent never used any large-scale magic, engaging him entirely in close-quarters combat. This made him unsure of his opponent's strength and he dared not easily reveal his own killing move.

After the tenth sword strike, Waldo finally created some distance: "Your movement technique is not that of an ordinary child."

Wayne exhaled a breath of stale air.

"I never said I was an ordinary kid."

Waldo was silent for a moment, then suddenly sheathed his sword and turned his neck: "Fine, that's enough for today. You can leave."

Wayne stood still, watching Waldo sheathe his sword and turn away, without moving.

"Come and go as you please? What do you take this place for, your hunting ground?"

Waldo stopped in his tracks, turned his head, and smiled with interest. "Oh? So you're not going to let me leave?"

Wayne didn't waste any more words.

He raised his right hand, and a staff appeared in his palm, its dragon pattern glowing. Water elements gathered at the tip of the staff, transforming from a trickle into a torrent, and from the torrent into the shape of a dragon.

"Water dragon."

The water dragon rushed straight towards Waldo, its mouth wide open, carrying the cascading water pressure, as if it wanted to crush the entire mushroom forest along with Waldo.

Waldo's pupils contracted.

He hadn't expected the child to be holding back, and the power of this attack was on a completely different level from the probing attacks they had exchanged earlier. He had no time to think; his longsword was held horizontally in front of him, and with a sudden twist of his wrist, the blade left afterimages in the air.

"Sword Shadows Weaving Flowers".

As the longsword spun, it seemed to transform into several swords, their sword light spreading out in layers, like a blooming iron flower, blocking his way.

The moment the water dragon collided with the sword flower, a muffled boom resounded, and water exploded, scattering in all directions. Waldo was propelled backward by the impact, his feet carving two deep furrows in the ground, and he slid seven or eight steps before barely regaining his footing.

He blocked it.

But the longsword kept humming.
