Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 424 One Punch Decides the Victory
As the splash subsided, Waldo's sword tip braced against the ground.
His gaze toward Wayne changed; he no longer dared to underestimate the man before him.
"...Peak third tier? Or fourth tier?"
Wayne did not answer.
The staff spun in his hand, its tip pointing back at Waldor, and the water elementals began to gather once more.
Waldo wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, leaned on his sword to stand up, and it seemed that the child in front of him had no intention of letting him leave alive.
"Kid, are you really going to fight me to the death?"
Wayne did not stop.
The water dragon roared out again, carrying immense pressure, heading straight for Waldo's face. Waldo gritted his teeth and swung his sword to block, the blade slicing into the water dragon's body, water splashing everywhere, the impact sending him flying several meters away once more.
At this moment, Valen had lost all will to fight.
He rolled to the side, and using the force of the water dragon's frontal impact, he turned and fled into the depths of the mushroom forest. He moved with incredible speed, leaping and weaving through the massive fungus thickets, covering dozens of meters in just a few bounds.
But he underestimated Wayne's reaction speed.
He had only run fifty meters when his foot suddenly sank.
A cold, binding sensation came from my ankle.
He looked down and saw that his ankle was somehow entangled in a transparent ring of water. The ring tightened rapidly, spreading from his ankle to his calf. He swung his sword to cut it, but the ring would immediately heal itself after being cleaved, becoming tighter and tighter.
Wayne held his staff horizontally in front of him, his five fingers slightly tucked in.
The water ring tightened suddenly, pulling Waldo off balance. He flipped in mid-air and crashed heavily onto the mossy ground. Before he could get up, the water ring extended into water chains, pinning his limbs firmly to the ground.
The matter did not end there; the water prison soon took shape.
Waldo was imprisoned in the center of the water sphere, the water pressure squeezing him from all sides, and his joints began to make sounds of unbearable strain.
He opened his mouth, and water filled his mouth.
"Kid, don't think you're the only one who can reach the fourth tier!"
He pulled a bottle of red potion from his waist.
He bit off the cork with his teeth and gulped it down.
Wayne frowned slightly.
The water element within the water prison instantly became violent, and a magical surge far more ferocious than before erupted from Waldo's body, causing several cracks to appear on the surface of the water prison.
The next second, the water prisoner exploded.
The splashing water shattered the surrounding mushroom bushes, and Waldo emerged from the broken water prison, soaking wet and with bloodshot eyes.
Torren, watching from a short distance behind, turned pale. He yelled at Wayne, "Young man, be careful! That's a berserk potion made from a magic core imbued with divine power! It can boost your combat strength to a whole new level in a short time!"
Wayne did not turn around.
He stared at Waldo, who was approaching with deep footprints, and raised his staff slightly, water elemental rapidly condensing at the tip.
Waldo's lips curled into a twisted grin: "So what if you're on drugs? Drugs that can kill are good drugs. You're a fourth-tier cultivator, and I'm also a fourth-tier cultivator after taking drugs. We're on the same level now, let's see what other tricks you have up your sleeve!"
Before he finished speaking, he had already charged forward. His speed was almost twice as fast as before, the blade wrapped in dark red energy, whistling as it tore through the air, aiming straight for Wayne's chest.
Wayne barely dodged, the water blade deflecting the sword's edge and sending sparks flying. He took a half step back, crashing into a giant mushroom stem, with Waldo close behind, slashing at his shoulder with his sword.
The water shield rose, and the sword blade pierced half an inch into the water, only to be stopped by the cushioning force. Waldo did not sheathe his sword, but continued to press down, the blade cutting inch by inch into the water shield, approaching Wayne's shoulder.
"Let's see how many more swords you can block!"
With a flick of his left hand, Wayne condensed holy light into a short blade, which slid along the edge of the water shield and precisely struck Waldo's wrist, which was holding the sword.
Waldo abruptly withdrew his hand, retracting the blade and taking a half-step back. He glanced at the shallow cut on his wrist that was still bleeding, and the smile on his face deepened.
"Oh? You even have Holy Light? You're quite versatile." He flicked the blood off his sword. "However, having many tricks up your sleeve isn't enough."
He rushed forward again.
This time, he didn't confront him head-on. Instead, he moved along the edge of the mushroom bushes, his sword blade darting left and right at tricky and ruthless angles, specifically targeting Wayne's weaknesses.
Wayne quickly distanced himself from Valen.
He then put away his staff and water blade, lowered his center of gravity, and brought his right fist to his waist, assuming a very ordinary starting stance.
He looked at Valen and said.
"I admit you did put pressure on me, but that's all."
Waldo frowned.
What's this guy up to? He put away his weapon and struck an awkward starting stance. Was he planning to fight me with his fists? A mage, not using magic, but his fists?
Waldo's mind raced.
He came to a conclusion: This kid was bluffing him!
That water magic combo was indeed beautiful, but it also revealed a problem: the mana consumption wouldn't be small. A fourth-tier mage, after unleashing two water dragons and a water imprisonment spell, would have at least run out of mana.
He's putting away his staff now because he's at his last gasp, just pretending he has a backup plan to fool himself.
Waldo understood this, and his smile returned.
He charged forward with his sword drawn, the blade whistling as it aimed straight for Wayne's throat.
"You brat, die!"
As the sword drew near, Wayne did not dodge.
He turned sideways, his right foot firmly planted on the ground, his waist and hips lowered, and his right fist slammed out. At the moment the punch was thrown, the air seemed to be compressed, producing a loud bang.
Waldo's pupils contracted sharply.
He felt it; the oppressive force of that punch far exceeded that of any fourth-tier warrior he had ever seen, no, it was even heavier than that of any fifth-tier warrior he had ever seen.
This is pure physical strength, without any magical fluctuations; it is genuine and terrifying physical power.
If that punch landed, he wouldn't survive.
Waldo had no time to think. He hastily turned his sword tip around and held it horizontally in front of him, trying to block the straight punch with the blade.
The moment his fist struck the blade, Waldo heard a crisp sound.
The sword broke in the middle, splitting into two pieces. One piece flew out and stuck into the mushroom bushes, while the other piece was still in Waldo's hand.
But it didn't end there. The fist pierced through the broken blade and slammed heavily into Waldo's right arm.
There was another crisp snapping sound.
Waldo was sent flying backward, crashing into two giant mushroom stems and rolling three or four times before coming to a stop. His right hand was bent at an abnormal angle, with bone fragments protruding from his flesh, and blood dripping from his arm onto the ground.
He lay on the ground, breathing rapidly, his eyes completely changed, filled with utter bewilderment.
"...What...are you?"
Waldo struggled to sit up, but the sharp pain in his right arm caused him to fall back down.
