The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 2 Harry's First Job
"What do you mean by lunch?"
Harry skillfully cleaned up the trash on the bridge, clearly realizing that no one had walked on it for a very long time, so much so that the trash had piled up at the bridgehead.
"Remember the tavern we just passed? If we can clear the mess on this bridge before noon today, we can have lunch there; otherwise, we'll have to wait until dinner."
Red stretched his hands, but as a somewhat malnourished orphan, his strength and stamina were still too weak, so the cleaning speed was much slower than he had imagined.
Harry swallowed hard; he did feel hungry, especially after Red had said that.
"Of course, don't worry... perhaps we have some special methods that will allow us to quickly resolve the work here."
After thinking for a while, examining the memories in his mind, Red decided to try and see if he could do the most important thing just like in the game.
"Harry, let's talk."
"Now? Didn't we agree to eat after we finished work?"
Harry Potter, whose mind was already filled with thoughts of hunger, couldn't understand why Red would suddenly ask him to talk at this moment.
"Let's talk about something... more forward-looking."
[Recollection: Revelation]: Some truths we learn from the outside or from above. (2 lights)
[The Lamp]: "Life is a pure flame, and within each of us lies an invisible sun." — Thomas Browne. [The lamp is a hidden place, often called the "dwelling of the sun," and the standard of its light.]
Harry Potter paused for a moment, then suddenly felt something enter his head, and his mind became clear. Not only that, he now felt that even if he took off his glasses, he could see everything clearly, as if someone had removed the frosted glass that separated him from the world, and everything became so clear.
"It looks very effective... Harry, let's get back to work."
Red laughed out loud; Harry Potter's panel had now changed in his eyes as he had hoped.
[Harry Potter]: The child prophesied to become the "Savior," currently suffering from malnutrition. (Affinity: 3 Lights, 1 Heart) (Enhanced using memories today)
Yes, this is one of the core mechanisms of the Book of the Stars: by strengthening the assistants through various means to reach the level that Red wants, and then having them repair rooms or act as assistants.
"What kind of magic is this?! It's amazing! Just by talking!!!" Harry Potter looked at Red with excitement. He never imagined that this boy who looked to be the same age as him would be a wizard.
"Magic? This is nothing much magic, just a little trick of mine... Harry, we should get back to work. After all, whether we get to eat and sleep today depends on how hard we work."
Reid sighed, then simply dumped most of the work on Harry, who was working hard because he felt refreshed, while he himself opened the amber-encrusted diary.
Recorded on it were the most basic and profound techniques he could learn, a method that allowed him to bypass the gods of this world known as the "Diviners" and wield great power.

Harry Potter stared in disbelief at Red Maxwell wolfing down his food. He wasn't incapable of understanding the feeling of hunger, but seeing Red devouring the huge plate of Stargazing Pie made by the proprietress, he realized he had underestimated the terror of hunger.
Although the scoundrel Mrs. Thatcher was removed from office, her Thatcherism, which made countless people grit their teeth, still had a huge impact on all welfare institutions. At least Reid often had to tighten his belt to keep out hunger.
"What are you looking at me for? Aren't you hungry? If you're not hungry, you can have your share..." Red took a sip of water to lubricate his parched throat. To be honest, Red felt that he had no regrets in this life for being able to eat such a sumptuous spring lunch for two pence. An orphan who had been half-full and hungry for a long time had no resistance to such hot and fragrant food.
"I... love it." Harry felt his stomach start to protest wildly as he watched Red eat, so he didn't care about saying anything more and immediately stuffed the pie in front of him into his mouth, afraid that Red would really reach out and snatch his pie.
The hunger from the long hours of work was instantly triggered, and the sardines peeking out from under the sizzling hot pie crust gave Harry a sense of satisfying happiness. Many people in the tavern stared in disbelief at the way the two children, around ten years old, were tearing at each other, and began to wonder which family on Blanccourt Island had suffered a disaster that had left the children so hungry.
"I'm so satisfied... I wonder if I'll ever have a chance to bring this food back for the little ones to try..."
Reid wiped his mouth, leaned back in his chair, and squinted. Although it's true that people who are chronically malnourished shouldn't eat too much at once, he believed that few people could refuse such an invitation when food was actually placed in front of them.
"Harry, take a break. We still have one room to repair. If it's not finished before sunset, we'll have to sleep on the floor. The rooms here are quite expensive for us. It's enough for two days' worth of food for both of us..."
Harry perked up immediately upon hearing this and followed Red back to the entrance of the Silent Bookstore. Although they could still only look at the castle from the gate, Harry couldn't help but marvel at how ridiculously large the castle was.
[Guardian's Hut]: This was the hut where the caretaker of the Silent Housing lived—until the fire. If I can get inside and make it habitable, I can probably use it as a base to repair more rooms in the housing. (Repair requires: 2 Castings, 1 Heart, 1 Activation)
Harry helped open the old wooden door, and the two of them quickly cleaned up the room, which was not much of a disturbance to begin with.
"This is the key to the Silent Bookstore... Of course, it's too late tonight to sneak in in the dark, but I can tell you..."
Red picked up the key, which was as big as his arm, that was sitting above the fireplace and waved it at Harry. The key was indeed frighteningly large; Harry even felt that this key, which was no different from a two-handed weapon, could open his skull.
"I......."
Harry Potter's vision suddenly blurred, and when it cleared again, he realized that he seemed to have returned to his uncle's house on Privet Drive.
