Huayu: I was immediately ensnared by Jing Tian as soon as I entered the industry.

Chapter 94 Assistant: The Young Lady Has Disappeared Again

For the Berlin International Film Festival, Wang Xuan is a close confidant.

After learning that he had started filming a new art film, the Berlin Film Festival sent him another invitation.

"Green Book" was a film made specifically for the Oscars, and Wang Xuan rejected it without even thinking about it.

However, after achieving success in two consecutive Berlin editions, he sincerely replied to the email and expressed his gratitude.

"Director, our film is a strong contender for awards at any film festival."

Matt Damon said with a smile.

As the filming progressed, he gained a deeper understanding of racial discrimination in that era.

In today's anti-discrimination political climate, this film would have an overwhelming advantage at any film festival.

"With Harvey there, our chances of going to the Oscars are much better."

Matt Damon nodded in agreement and joked, "I need to work even harder, maybe I can win an Oscar and then I can show it off in front of Leonardo."

"Matt, you'll have to get past me first," Don Cheadle said with a smile.

Both of them were full of confidence, almost like they were popping champagne halfway through the game.

Wang Xuan is reviewing the footage shot that morning.

Matt really put in a lot of effort during filming. Relatively speaking, the character he played had a more complex inner world and more room for development.

But if we're talking about advantages, it's definitely Don Cheadle, not because of his acting skills, but simply because he's Black.

During his lunch break, Wang Xuan also checked on the release status of "The Hunt".

With no major films released at the same time, China Film Group gave it a good number of screenings, and the lead actors also promoted it very hard.

Ge You, in particular, with two Best Actor awards, truly deserves the title of the number one male actor in Chinese-language cinema today.

With the director winning the Silver Bear and the actor winning the Best Actor award at the Berlin Film Festival, the film grossed over 600 million yuan on its opening day.

For an art film, this is a pretty good result.

Meanwhile, "24 City" was released at the same time and only grossed 1.7 million yuan in 7 days. This is Jia Zhangke's highest-grossing film to date.

Despite the film's dismal box office performance in China, it earned a decent amount of royalties from overseas sales.

Otherwise, no one would have invested in Jia Zhangke time and time again over the years.

The cast and crew of "The Art of War".

..

Jing Tian, preoccupied with her own thoughts, was not in the right frame of mind, resulting in many takes for one scene.

The director couldn't stand it anymore and decided to move the filming to tomorrow.

Back at the hotel, I removed my makeup and took a shower.

Not long after, Jing Tian came out of the bathroom wrapped in a bath towel, her long, fair legs exposed to the air.

She sat cross-legged on the sofa, drying her wet hair.

Thinking about what Zhao Shanshan said today, he threw the towel aside and picked up his phone from the coffee table.

She stared at the screen for a while, her brows furrowing as she hesitated between making a phone call or sending a text message.

After thinking for a moment, she put her phone down again, muttering to herself, "I need to trust Xuanxuan; he won't lose control of himself."

.

Jing Tian touched her dry hair, went barefoot, and went back to bed to sleep.

She lay on the bed, but couldn't fall asleep. Her big eyes were staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

The next day, Jing Tian was woken up by her assistant. She had just fallen asleep when it was almost dawn. She went to the bathroom to wash up while yawning and was startled when she saw herself in the mirror.

She had dark circles under her eyes, and her face was a little swollen.

After washing up and putting on makeup, a delicate face appeared again.

"Xiao Li, where did you put your passport and other documents?"

Jing Tian, who was having breakfast, asked casually.

"Sister Tian Tian, it's under the drawer of your dressing table. If you're worried about forgetting it, you can leave it with me."

"No need, I was just asking casually."

A sly glint flashed in the young lady's eyes: "By the way, my stomach is a little upset today. Could you ask the crew for a day off for me?"

"Sister Tian Tian, should we go to the hospital?"

"No need, it's just that my relatives have come."

"7

The young lady smiled.

When Jing Tian's assistant returned after getting leave, she saw the note left on the table, suddenly remembered something, and hurriedly opened the drawer where her passport was kept...

Sure enough, the young lady's passport was missing; she had run away again.

She quickly called Zhao Shanshan and explained the situation.

Upon receiving the call, Zhao Shanshan rushed over and smiled helplessly at the note left behind.

"That silly girl, she's really brave."

After complaining about the rich girl, she started looking up phone numbers while instructing her assistant to prepare to buy plane tickets.

The crew of "Green Book" is filming a night scene depicting a conflict in a bar.

"Director, do all Chinese people know martial arts? Could you teach me a few moves sometime?"

Matt Damon leaned closer, his eyes filled with longing.

"Sure," Wang Xuan readily agreed, then said seriously, "But I see your steps are unsteady, so let's start with the most basic horse stance."

"Teach me how to do it."

Just as Wang Xuan was about to demonstrate, his phone started vibrating. At this time, it was usually Jing Tian, that little girl, who would call.

...

But what caught my eye was an unfamiliar number, and it was a call from across the border.

After hesitating for a moment, Wang Xuan answered the phone: "Hello, who is this?"

Matt Damon clearly sensed that Wang Xuan's spirits lifted and that he wore an incredulous expression.

"She's incredibly bold. Don't worry, I'll personally go and keep watch to ensure she gets the person safely—"

After hanging up the phone, Wang Xuan calmed himself down. Jing Tian had actually bought a plane ticket and flown over by herself. It seemed he was going to have to give her a good spanking.

And she needs to be taught a severe lesson so she knows the consequences of her actions.

"What triggered this? Why would someone abandon the entire crew and fly so far to visit the set?"

Wang Xuan touched his nose, a little puzzled. Could it be that she was thinking of him?

I'm not going to think about it anymore; I'll just ask when the time comes.

"Director, should we continue teaching?" Matt asked.

"By the way, Matt—" Wang Xuan wanted to ask something, but then waved his hand.

He's never been to China, so how would he know if there are direct flights from New Orleans? It's faster for him to check himself.

"Does the director need my help?"

"Not for now."

Wang Xuan shook his head and checked the flight information. There were no direct flights from the capital; a transfer was required.

It's evening here, so Jing Tian will probably land in Los Angeles tomorrow morning.

He has to go and pick up the person.

Wang Xuan called the producer over and asked him to prepare a flight back to Los Angeles overnight, while also telling him to take a day off tomorrow.

Unlike other Hollywood production teams that operate on a producer-centric model, Wang Xuan decided on a director-centric model when he worked with Harvey.

Therefore, he had the most power on the film set.

The crew was delighted to have a day off and were already preparing for tomorrow's party.

Wang Xuan rushed back to Los Angeles overnight and checked into a hotel near the airport.

Lying in bed, I couldn't fall asleep no matter what I did. This silly girl, I've sacrificed so much for her.

Wang Xuan secretly decided that he would treat her better in the future. Since she liked acting, he would make her an international superstar.

This made her the envy of female celebrities in the industry.
