Chapter 103 The Great Wilderness Starfall!

Chapter 103 The Great Wilderness Starfall!

Yinye turned to look at the side door of the hall.

The side door was ajar, and it was pitch black through the crack.

Arthur leaned against the wall to stand up, his legs still a little weak: "Is she in cahoots with those two monsters?"

Chu Sheng tiptoed to the crack in the door and peeked inside.

"They shouldn't have gone far." Chu Sheng turned to Ella. "Can you catch up?"

Ella stood up excitedly, her tail wagging rapidly: "Of course!"

"That----"

Before Chu Sheng could finish speaking, a sharp whooshing sound suddenly rang out from outside the castle!

The sound came from the night sky above the castle, as if something was falling at an incredible speed!

It quickly changed from a sharp whistle to a deep, rolling roar, the sound of the air being torn apart was so deafening that Silverleaf and Ella had to cover their sensitive ears.

"boom!!!"

The entire castle trembled violently, dust fell from the ceiling, and even the Pegasus painting hanging on the wall fell to the ground.

Look what's crashed on the ground in the castle's backyard!

Then came a series of cracking sounds, stretching from the point of impact all the way down to the castle, like a heavy hammer grinding across the ground!

Chu Sheng walked quickly to the French windows and looked down.

There was a huge crater in the ground in the backyard of the castle, the stone slabs smashed to pieces, revealing the black soil underneath.

There was a ring of radial cracks around the edge of the pit, extending far into the distance, with white smoke rising from each crack.

A road, crushed by the force of the crushing, stretched out from the deep pit. The stone slabs were broken along the way, and the gravel and soil were plowed to both sides by a brute force, forming a straight crushed strip.

At the end of the compacted area, a figure slowly rose from the pile of rubble. Her back was to Chu Sheng, her long chestnut hair was loosely draped over the shoulders of her military uniform, and her right hand hung at her side, clutching something in it.

The old steward's head.

The old butler's body had vanished, and a dark red mist of blood drifted in the deep crater where it had landed. A broken spine was attached to the head, with flesh and several severed tendons still hanging from the joints.

The figure's left hand was gripping the old butler's skull, indicating that the old butler's head had been violently ripped off by this woman, and his face was frozen with the last expression before death.

Eyes wide open, mouth agape, as if screaming or begging for mercy, but before even a sound could be uttered, the body was smashed into a bloody mist by the impact of the falling force.

Mira von Whitehorse stood amidst the ruins of the castle's backyard, moonlight streaming through the clouds, casting a long shadow of her.

Chu Sheng watched this scene, his face pale. Behind him were Ella, Silver Leaf, and Arthur, who had also crowded around to look down. When Ella saw that head, her tail puffed up into a ball of fur, and she gagged. Silver Leaf's face also turned pale. Arthur remained silent, his eyes wide with astonishment and a hint of barely perceptible admiration.

Then, Mrs. Mira raised her head.

She saw Chu Sheng standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

She paused for a moment, as if she had been caught doing something wrong by her crush, and her ears began to turn red.

The pink stood out vividly in the moonlight, contrasting sharply with the black military uniform and gleaming badges, as if someone had pinned an out-of-place little flower on her.

She suddenly realized that she was still holding the old butler's head, along with his spine, and her face turned even redder.

She shoved the old butler's head and spine behind her back, and unconsciously wiped her right hand on her military trousers, trying to wipe away the blood.

Then she raised her head again.

Through the moonlight and the wreckage of the French windows, she smiled at Chu Sheng. The smile was fleeting, the corners of her mouth rising and falling, her eyes darting around for a moment before finally meeting Chu Sheng's gaze.

She raised her right hand and waved at him, her movements stiff.

"Hi."

Arthur sensed something was wrong with her.

She took in all of Mrs. Mira’s changing expressions, from cold to astonished, from astonished to flustered, and from flustered to shy.

She glanced at the woman below, then at Chu Sheng beside her, who looked bewildered but also raised his hand in response.

Chu Sheng's expression was simple, because his mind was filled with thoughts like, "She's so amazing, but why did she wave at me?", "Did she just pull someone's spine out?", and "Wow, her breasts are huge."

Arthur sighed inwardly.

Oh no, another one. How long has it been?

From Windmill Village to now, only a month or two have passed, and she has personally witnessed this team grow from three people to four, from four to five, and from five to six, even though one of them is still AFK farming remotely in Cat Territory.

Amber also walked over and stood behind Chu Sheng. Her gaze went over Chu Sheng's head and met the eyes of the woman in military uniform in the backyard.

Mira was also looking at her. The two women stared at each other for a moment through the moonlight and broken glass, their faces expressionless.

Finally, Mira retrieved the old butler's head from behind her back, regaining her imposing presence. She handed the head to a guard who had just run over and whispered a few instructions.

The guard's hand trembled slightly when he took the still-dripping head, but when he saw Mira's cold expression, he immediately stood up straight and saluted.

Soon, more city defense soldiers poured into the castle's backyard, and Lady Mira stood among the busy soldiers and officials, issuing instructions in an orderly manner.

"Has the auction house finished taking stock of its losses?"

A middle-aged man who looked like a civil official stepped forward quickly, holding a stack of parchment in his hands: "Reporting to the lord, all the final auction items have been recovered. The exterior wall of the third floor of the auction hall was damaged. The inventory of the other auction items is expected to be completed by tomorrow morning."

Mrs. Mira took the parchment, pausing for only a few seconds on each page before turning to the next. When she reached the last page, she frowned slightly: "Where is the gargoyle's body?"

"Uh—" The civil official carefully examined Mrs. Mira's face. "You stepped on that building and it collapsed. The body is buried underneath. We are organizing people to clean it up."

"After the cleanup is complete, send the remains to the Mage Tower so they can identify the gargoyle's magical source and activity patterns, especially its connection to the recent unusual activity of other monsters in the northern part of the Empire."

Lady Mira paused here, glancing casually at the broken French window: "Also, notify all post stations and trade route outposts that an unknown force has recently hired high-level demons to infiltrate Pegasus Territory. Tell them to increase their vigilance."

The civil official quickly jotted down notes in his notebook, while Lady Mira turned to the officer on the other side: "The city garrison's level-three blockade order will be lifted within half an hour. Two squads will remain at the south and east gates to reinforce patrols, while the rest of the soldiers will return to their barracks. The auction house's security will be taken over by the lord's manor guards."

The officer saluted, turned, and jogged away.

Lady Mira called to a maid who had just run out of the castle's side gate: "Prepare all the spare guest rooms, and use the best bedding and incense."

Then she turned to another maid: "The medical ward should send someone to the Thirteen Wings to check on the Holy Sword Knight's injuries. Any injury must be treated with the best medicine."

The maid obeyed and left. Lady Mira stood there and looked around the backyard, nodding slightly after confirming that no detail had been missed.
