Chapter 104 A Perfect Woman!

Chapter 104 A Perfect Woman!

The soldiers and officers, who had been caught off guard by the sudden battle, quickly restored order under Mrs. Mira's command.

Chu Sheng stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, watching this scene unfold. He had to admit that Mira von Whitehorse was indeed a very capable woman.

In his view, the soldiers obeyed her orders not because of her strength (although her strength was certainly a major reason), but because she knew what she was doing, and everyone knew that she knew what she was doing.

This kind of woman could stand at the top of the pyramid in any world. This is his rational appreciation and admiration as a normal man, without any improper thoughts.

"She's very capable," Chu Sheng commented sincerely.

Amber glanced at him but said nothing.

Arthur looked at him, but she didn't say anything.

Since there wasn't much to say, Chu Sheng always praised people by saying whatever came to mind. He had previously said that she was very reliable, that Amber was very beautiful, that Audrey was very strong, that Silver Leaf was very ambitious, and that Ella was a good dog.

He genuinely appreciates everyone's strengths, but this indiscriminate love is the most serious problem!

The soldiers in the backyard had already begun moving stones to repair the holes in the wall. Lady Mira spoke a few more words to a few officials, then turned and walked toward the main gate of the castle.

Her military boots clattered crisply, her badges gleamed in the moonlight, and her figure was upright and resolute, exuding the air of a strong woman.

After a while, the people in the Thirteen Wings Hall came in carrying a tea tray with five cups of warm honey milk and several freshly baked oat biscuits.

The maids still looked shaken, but they moved swiftly. They began cleaning up the traces of the battle in the hall, sweeping away the shattered chandelier fragments, wiping away the vine sap from the walls, and then straightening the Pegasus painting that Arthur had knocked askew.

Then Mrs. Mira came in.

She changed into a brand-new set of lord's manor attire, very conservative, which accentuated her classical elegance.

The top was a dark gray cashmere cardigan with a V-neck that wasn't too deep, just enough to reveal a small patch of fair skin below the collarbone.

She wore a matching cashmere long skirt that reached her ankles, with a smooth drape. A thin leather belt was tied around her waist, and she wore a pair of dark brown ankle boots with light gray fur lining the tops.

Her hair had also been styled again; her long chestnut hair was styled into a bun at the back of her head, exuding elegance and understated sophistication.

She even had some light makeup on her face, almost invisible unless you looked closely. From head to toe, she exuded an aura of "I am a lord, I am cultured, I am polite, I am gentle and refined," making it impossible to tell that she had just torn apart an old steward who had been lurking for decades.

When Lady Mira entered the hall, her first glance was at Chu Sheng, then she immediately looked away, her gaze falling on Amber, then on Arthur, and finally sweeping over Silver Leaf and Ella.

She meticulously planned the order of these gazes, ensuring that every guest was noticed, while the time spent on Chu Sheng did not exceed the normal social bounds.

"I am Mira von Whitehorse, the thirty-fourth lord of Pegasus Territory. I bear undeniable responsibility for the shock I have caused you all tonight, and on behalf of the Whitehorse family and Pegasus Territory, I extend my sincerest apologies to you all."

Then she bent down, the neckline of her cashmere cardigan drooping slightly as she bent over, revealing the two full upper edges of her breasts, which were wrapped up, deeper below her collarbone.

After a moment, she slowly straightened up, her expression extremely solemn, her eyes full of sincere apology.

Chu Sheng was genuinely embarrassed. He had thought that since the lord was dressed conservatively, it wouldn't be a big deal to take a look.

Unexpectedly, with just that one glance, his self-light was sucked into that tight, deep crevice, and he almost couldn't pull it out.

Just as he had thought, wow, she's so big.

Chu Sheng quickly waved his hand, his tone much more serious than usual: "Lord, there's no need for this. Those bastards have been plotting for a long time, and no one could have prevented it. In fact, we're the ones who have caused you trouble."

"You're too kind," Lady Mira said gently and with restraint. "It was my oversight that the old steward was involved. She has served in the lord's manor for decades. If it weren't for your vigilance, she might have already passed on all the information tonight."

Then she turned to Arthur, her brow furrowing slightly: "Miss Knight's injuries require further treatment. I have had the best recovery medicine prepared; please make sure the female physician examines you before you rest. Although Pegasus Territory is not as prosperous as the imperial center, its medical facilities are quite complete. If you need anything, you can speak directly to the physician; all the medicinal herbs in the lord's manor are available to you."

Arthur nodded, his tone becoming more polite: "Thank you, Lord. My injuries aren't serious; they've already been treated."

.

"That's good." Lady Mira smiled slightly, then turned to Silverleaf. "This must be Miss Silverleaf, right? Her Majesty Audrey mentioned you in her letter; your performance was very impressive. I also studied musical instruments for a few years when I was young, but unfortunately, I didn't have the talent, so I gave it up."

Silverleaf wasn't used to being praised so formally by a nobleman, and a faint blush rose to her cheeks. Gray elves don't blush as brightly as humans; their blushes are so faint they're almost invisible.

She tried to keep her tone calm: "You flatter me, I just happen to know how to play a few instruments."

Mrs. Mira nodded to Silverleaf, then looked at Ella, who was playing with the broken glass on the ground by sweeping it with her tail.

When Ella realized everyone was looking at her, her tail stopped immediately, her ears were pressed guiltily against her head, and she still had an oat cookie she had just taken from the table in her mouth.

She mumbled a vague "Huh?"

Mrs. Mira looked at her and said earnestly, "My dear dog-woman, I'm sorry to have frightened you tonight. The kitchen is already preparing a midnight snack; if there's anything you'd like to eat, please let us know in advance."

Ella's tail immediately began to spin wildly, drool dripping from her mouth, and biscuits fell from her mouth to the ground. She glanced down at them, then looked up at Mrs. Mira, her eyes resolute: "Roasted leg of lamb! The whole one!"

"Alright." Mrs. Mira turned to her maid and instructed, "Have the kitchen start baking now."

The maid trotted away. Lady Mira turned to the group again, placing her hands clasped in front of her lower abdomen, her voice gentle and sincere: "You have all been frightened tonight. I have arranged the best rooms in the lord's manor for each of you. Each room has a private bathroom and a change of clothes. If you need anything else, please feel free to ask the maid at the door."

Arthur noticed that Mrs. Mira had inadvertently skipped over Ambermind's greeting.

Then, Lady Mira naturally suggested the room assignments: Ambermind's room was on the east side, next to the castle's sky garden; Arthur's room was on the south side, with its window facing the soldiers' training ground; Silverleaf and Ella's rooms were next to Ambermind's, the two rooms side by side, with a connecting door in between.

Chu Sheng's room was the largest suite on the north side, because Mrs. Mira believed that the youngest of the guests deserved the best resting space.

The maid led the group away from the Thirteen Wings Hall. As they left, Chu Sheng glanced back at Madame Mira, who was still standing in the hall, surrounded by several officials holding official documents and waiting for their signatures.

She held a quill pen in her hand, her beautiful profile focused and serious as she quickly signed her opinions on an official document.

Chu Sheng nodded to himself, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

A reliable and strong woman – first impression: perfect!

Rumors aren't very credible anyway!
