The shop owner was a tall, thin middle-aged man wiping glasses behind the counter. When he saw Arthur walk in, his expression immediately turned respectful.
"Sir Knight! Welcome to Whitewing Inn! How many rooms would you like?"
Five people, three rooms.
The innkeeper was about to respond when he suddenly seemed to remember something: "I'm so sorry, sir. The annual auction in the city has filled the inn to capacity these past few days. We only have two double rooms left."
Arthur frowned slightly, but didn't say anything more. He had seen the notice on the way there; it was normal for the auction to be full.
She took two keys from the boss and went upstairs.
The room was on the second floor. The corridor was carpeted in deep red, and several oil paintings of Pegasus landscapes hung on the walls.
Arthur handed the key to Silverleaf: "You and Ella will share a room. I'll share with His Majesty and Chu Sheng—"
"Wait a minute," Chu Sheng interrupted, raising his hand. "Isn't it a bit cramped for one man and two women to share a double room?"
"Special circumstances, we'll have to squeeze in for one night." Arthur pushed open the door expressionlessly. "Once we arrive at the lord's manor tomorrow, there will naturally be guest rooms available."
Amber had already entered the room. After looking around, she nodded slightly: "Although there are only two beds, this room is quite large."
Chu Sheng looked at the two single beds in the room, then at Arthur and Amber Mei's tall and voluptuous figures, and then at his own small frame.
Two people could manage on one bed, but the problem was that neither of them were petite. "I'll sleep on the floor," Chu Sheng decided decisively for the sake of harmony.
"No." Arthur and Amber said in unison.
Chu Sheng looked to his left, then to his right: "Then where will I sleep?"
Amber sat on the edge of the bed, her lips slightly upturned: "Put the two beds together, you sleep in the middle, and I'll sleep on the left."
Arthur stood by the other bed, arms crossed: "I'll sleep on the right."
Chu Sheng closed his eyes, knowing he probably wouldn't get a good night's sleep.
As night fell, the city of Whitewing was illuminated by countless lights.
In the auction house in the south of the city, several appraisers were conducting a final check on the final item to be exhibited tomorrow.
In a tavern in the north of the city, a group of merchants who had just arrived from the imperial center were raising their glasses and chatting about the recent trade situation in the north. Some said that trade routes had become much smoother after the new ruler of Cat Territory, while others said that something big had happened in the Sacred Tree Forest. The news was a mix of truth and falsehood, and no one could say for sure.
At the highest point of the city, the Whitehorse family's castle stands silently under the night sky.
Inside the castle tower, a window was lit.
It was a secret room.
The walls of the secret room were covered with deep purple velvet curtains, and in the center of the room was a large, high-backed chair with pegasus patterns carved on the armrests.
The light was dim, with only a few magic lamps shining faintly in the corners.
The lights illuminated the walls, which were covered with crystal sheets of all shapes and sizes. Each crystal sheet contained the image of the same person: smiling, frowning, raising a hand, turning around, looking in profile, looking straight ahead, looking down, looking up—all of them were the same person.
Black hair, slender, bright face, delicate smile.
Mira von Whitehorse sat in that high-backed chair.
She had just finished showering; her long, chestnut-brown hair was still wet and draped over her shoulders, dripping water from the ends and soaking her dark green velvet nightgown.
The robe was made of thin material, clinging tightly to her full, mature body. The neckline was loosely open, revealing a large expanse of fair skin below her collarbone.
The belt around her waist was tied casually, and the velvet nightgown was stretched taut by her chest, heavy and large. Looking down, her waist suddenly became slender, and one hand could easily wrap around most of it.
Further down, the hips widen into elegant curves on both sides, the fleshy buttocks pressing the hem of the velvet robe tightly, revealing plump, soft flesh when sitting on a high-backed chair.
Her legs were crossed, one plump thigh pressing down on the other, and the hem of her nightgown slipped open between her legs, revealing a large expanse of firm, snow-white flesh.
She was holding a piece of parchment in her hand.
The bottom right corner of the parchment was stamped with the seal of the Pegasus Winged People's Messenger Station. The messenger flew back to the castle this evening and personally handed the parchment to the steward, who, without even having a sip of water, immediately delivered it to the door of the secret chamber.
Chu Sheng has arrived in Whitewing City and checked into the Whitewing Inn. He is accompanied by four people: Imperial Knight Arthur, Elf Queen Ambermin, Gray Elf Silverleaf, and Dog-Man Ella. He is in good condition and shows no signs of injury or illness.
At the very bottom, a small sketch is drawn: a thin boy leans out of the carriage window, his hair disheveled by the wind, looking at a barbecue stall on the street with an expression like a dog smelling meat.
Mira stared at the sketch, her fingers tracing its outline lightly. Her breathing quickened, and her chest rose and fell beneath her velvet robe, the deep cleavage gently squeezing and releasing with each breath.
"Chu Sheng."
Mira stood up lazily and walked to the wall covered with crystal display pieces. Her gaze swept over the images, finally settling on a brand-new crystal display piece.
This crystal photo was delivered today; it captures a profile view.
She reached out and gently touched the surface of the crystal.
These photographic crystals are extremely rare and valuable in the empire; a single crystal can buy thousands of acres of fertile land. Even in the imperial palace, only emperors of past dynasties were qualified to have their images taken by these crystals.
And in this secret room, there were far more crystal pieces than in the Imperial Palace.
Then she withdrew her hand, bent down, and picked up a small wooden figurine from the low table next to the chair. The figurine had only been finished that evening, and its expression mirrored the longing look he had when he peeked at the skewers.
Mira held the wooden figurine in her palm, examined it for a moment, and then gently placed it back on the low table.
There were already more than a dozen wooden figurines on the low table, all of them Chu Sheng. Some were standing, some were sitting, some were looking back, some were yawning, some were reaching for something, some were bickering with their companions, and one even recreated the helpless expression he had when Amber patted his head.
She sat back down in the high-backed chair and picked up another small wooden figurine from the low table.
She held the little figure in her hand, and picked up the little figure she had just put down with her other hand.
Two small wooden figures face each other, one frowning and the other drooling, as if they are arguing.
Mira chuckled softly.
She separated the two wooden carvings and laid them down, then lay back in the high-backed chair, her body slowly sinking into the soft cushions. Her chestnut hair was disheveled, and the ties of her velvet robe had come undone at some point.
The neckline slipped open, revealing a large expanse of fair skin and a deep, unfathomable cleavage. The skirt hem descended to the upper thighs, exposing her firm, voluptuous legs in the dim light.
Her breathing became heavier and more rapid.
It took her a long time before she slowly sat up.
She picked up a new piece of parchment from the low table and took a long, thin quill from the pen holder.
"I want him to sit opposite me at the banquet at the lord's manor tomorrow."
After writing that line, she thought for a moment and added a sentence below.
"Tell the kitchen to prepare more meat dishes; he likes to eat meat."
She put down her quill pen, picked up the wooden figurines that had been pasted on her body one by one, carefully wiped them with a handkerchief, and gently placed them back in their original positions on the low table.
At the White Wing Inn, Chu Sheng was staring blankly at the ceiling. Amber Mei lay to his left, and Arthur lay to his right; neither of them were asleep yet.
"Don't you guys think—" Chu Sheng suddenly asked.
"What's wrong?"
"I have a feeling that there is some kind of danger, but I can't quite put my finger on it."
Amber chuckled softly, "Sleep well, baby. We're here for you."
Chu Sheng rolled over and snuggled closer to Amber.
sleep!
