Dawn of Life

Chapter 27 Consulting Advisors

Lin Yue sighed deeply in her heart. She knew she was destined to be the "bad guy" today and didn't intend to explain herself. She first expressed her usual apology, then took out the agreement she had prepared in advance and told him the terms: "The compensation will be based on the N+1 standard, and all your unused annual leave and overtime will be converted into wages based on the number of days you worked."

"Let's set the departure date for the first of next month. That way, your social security and housing provident fund contributions can be made until next month, giving you a month to transition. As long as the handover is completed smoothly, if you have any interview opportunities during this period, just let me know and go."

Looking at the agreement and listening to Lin Yue's explanation, Zhang Wei's expression softened a bit: "Since you've considered all of this, then I have nothing more to say." He then took the agreement, signed his name on it with a flourish, as if this was his last act of pride.

Lin Yue wanted to say something more, but he interrupted her. At that moment, in his eyes, Lin Yue seemed to be feigning compassion. He picked up the signed and stamped agreement on the table and walked out of the conference room without looking back.

Zhang Wei had always been jealous of Lin Yue's promotion to director. He believed he was no less capable than Lin Yue, and that she had only gotten the position through luck. Furthermore, he had never really liked working under a female boss. Qin Lan, with her strong background and being a few years older than him, was someone he could barely accept. But Lin Yue, a woman a year younger than him, was someone he couldn't convince himself to accept.

Now that he has been fired by Lin Yue, he is filled with resentment, but he has no choice but to accept reality.

Having settled things with Zhang Wei, Lin Yue planned to go home early after work today. Ever since Liu Cuiying ran away from home, her relationship with Lin Yue had become strained. For the past two days, they had both been very careful, afraid of saying anything too harsh and upsetting each other. Lin Yue was also reflecting on how she had been too busy with work lately and hadn't spent enough time with her family.

Her parents had just arrived in the city and didn't have many friends, so they hoped that when she came home, they could chat about everyday things. However, every night when Lin Yue came home, she seemed unwilling to have a deep conversation with them, so it was normal for Liu Cuiying to become emotional.

So lately, she makes sure to force a smile in the driver's side mirror before getting out of the car, making sure she's in top form before strolling home. She also tries to spend half a day on weekends taking her parents and son out for a walk. Clearly, this has been very effective; Liu Cuiying's condition is significantly better than before, and the atmosphere among her family has improved.

That evening, everyone ate dinner together and chatted casually. Perhaps as the relationship eased, Liu Cuiying started urging her to find a boyfriend again in various ways.

Liu Cuiying asked疑惑地问道, "Your company has thousands of people, working together every day, how come there isn't a single suitable one?"

While picking up some food, Lin Yue said helplessly, "I'm the one who handles all kinds of interpersonal relationships at the company. If my boss and colleagues knew that I couldn't even handle my own intimate relationships, they would question my work ability. So it's not convenient for me to tell my colleagues about my divorce."

Liu Cuiying disagreed: "Don't take work so seriously. If you meet the right person, you can just change jobs."

Lin Yue tilted her head and glared at Liu Cuiying, replying in a particularly unreasonable manner, "If I divorce Gao Ming this time, I'll just be a housewife. What will I do with my life?"

Liu Cuiying said firmly, "Then we definitely won't agree to a divorce." After a moment of thought, she continued, "How about you ask your aunt to introduce you to someone back in your hometown? Your uncle is a teacher at a school, and your aunt works in a public institution. If they can help you find someone, your life will be more stable."

Lin Yue quickly waved her hand and replied to Liu Cuiying, "Then I'll find one myself."

Liu Cuiying nodded thoughtfully and said, "That's fine too. If you can meet someone who is good in all aspects while you're out there, it's okay if you don't come home after a year."

Seeing Liu Cuiying's serious expression, a thought flashed through Lin Yue's mind. Last time, Liu Cuiying said she would only help her in Hangzhou for a year. If her mother really wanted to go home after a year, could she really find a boyfriend to keep her parents in check?

Currently, Lin Haifeng picks Xiaoyu up and drops him off on his electric scooter every morning and evening. Liu Cuiying also gets up at the same time to cook breakfast for the family, so Lin Yue can sleep until 7:00 before getting up. After eating, she will have enough time to put on a nice outfit and do her makeup.

She stood in front of the dressing mirror, looking at herself. Thanks to a good night's sleep these past few days, her overall condition and complexion were much better. Today, she dressed herself in a camel-colored short-sleeved knit top, wide-leg jeans, and 7-centimeter heels, looking both professional and elegant.

Around 10 a.m., she was in a business coordination meeting when her phone received a message. She glanced at it reflexively; it was an unfamiliar WeChat profile picture. She opened it with some confusion, and it read: "Mr. Lin, I'm already at your company's front desk."

Lin Yue then realized that she had arranged to meet Xiao Feng from Fengda Consulting at the company today to discuss a consulting project. A few days ago, Sheng Xing had given her Xiao Feng's WeChat contact information; they added each other, exchanged brief greetings, and scheduled the meeting for 10:00 AM that morning. However, a meeting had gotten in the way, and she had completely forgotten about it.

She replied quickly, "Mr. Xiao, I'm sorry. Could you wait 10 minutes? I need to wrap up my meeting right away, I'll be there soon."

Xiao Feng: "No rush, take your time."

Fifteen minutes later, Lin Yue emerged from the conference room. She hurried to the front desk in her high heels. Forgetting time was unusual for her. Although this consulting firm was the client, Shengxing had given her prior instructions, so she felt both anxious and frustrated.

She went to the front desk and saw someone standing in the distance at the "Employee Style" culture wall, casually looking at the photos.

He was dressed in business casual attire, tall and handsome. When he turned around, his deep eyes were unforgettable, seemingly gazing at everyone with deep affection. This man was none other than Xiao Feng.

Lin Yue stopped in front of him, introduced herself, sincerely expressed her apologies, and then led him to the conference room.

After sitting down, Lin Yue took a bottle of purified water from the conference table and handed it to Xiao Feng. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, she asked a question that puzzled her: "Is Mr. Xiao personally in charge of this project?"

Lin Yue had researched Fengda Consulting online beforehand. It was a four-year-old business consulting firm with a very simple shareholding structure, with Xiao Feng as the sole shareholder. There wasn't much information about Xiao Feng online either; all that was known was that he had studied abroad, majoring in art as an undergraduate and management as a graduate student.

It's rare to see someone with his background start a business consulting firm. However, the company is quite strong, with about ten professional consultants, all of whom have impressive backgrounds, and the clients they've served are all well-known companies.

Fengda Consulting's business overlaps significantly with the human resources consulting firm Qin Lan wants to establish. However, based on the founders' experience, Qin Lan's company leans more towards specialized human resources modules, such as compensation design and headhunting services.

Looking at Xiao Feng's previous projects, they leaned more towards strategic planning and corporate management. Therefore, Lin Yue could understand Shengxing's decision to choose his company for consulting, but the fact that the company's founder would personally handle the project was somewhat puzzling to Lin Yue.

Xiao Feng twisted open the bottle cap of the purified water, took a sip, and said with a slight smile, "The company has several big projects running at the same time recently, and we don't have enough manpower, so I've been handling them myself."

Lin Yue nodded. Although she felt it was just a casual answer, it was their first meeting, so she didn't press the matter. She smiled and said, "Thank you for your help. We'll be working on this project together from now on."

The two then began a formal discussion. Lin Yue explained the company's current situation, especially the poor team atmosphere caused by the restructuring in the past six months. However, when it came to issues such as factionalism and cliques within the company, she deliberately downplayed the seriousness of the matter and withheld some information.

It was already past noon when they finished chatting. Xiao Feng stood up and asked, "President Lin, where are you having lunch?" Lin Yue looked at Xiao Feng suspiciously, thinking: This man is really too friendly. Is he going to make me treat him to lunch right after we met? I should have asked the administration to order two boxed lunches in advance.
