Just as Fang Qingzhou put the unicorn badge into his pocket, the walkie-talkie hanging on his chest rang, and Sheriff Marvin's voice came through.

"Leon, this is Marvin. I need you back here immediately."

"What happened to Marvin?" Fang Qingzhou replied into the walkie-talkie.

"I have something to show you, something very important," Marvin replied.

"I understand. Elliott and I will be back soon." Fang Qingzhou put down the walkie-talkie and looked at Elliott beside him.

Elliot nodded, then took out the key he had just found on the road. It could open the library door and lead directly into the lobby.

The statue of the goddess still stands in the center, casting a huge shadow under the emergency lights, looking even more solemn than before, like a silent tombstone.

Sheriff Ma Wen sat in a chair next to the goddess statue, in a similar posture to when Fang Qingzhou left, but he looked even worse.

His lips were pale and cracked, and his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat. Although he had wrapped the wound on his abdomen tightly with bandages, the bandages had been soaked through with blood and turned into a dark, deep red.

"You're here... Take a look at this..." Marvin saw Fang Qingzhou, and the corner of his mouth twitched as if he wanted to laugh, but in the end it only made the wrinkles on his face deepen.

Marvin laboriously opened the surveillance camera on the computer next to him, and saw Claire standing outside the barbed wire fence in the backyard of the police station, looking around.

"Thank goodness, she's alright..." Fang Qingzhou breathed a sigh of relief. Although Claire, as one of the main characters in Resident Evil, wasn't so easy to kill, he was finally relieved to see her alive.

No matter what, this was the first living person he had met since he came into this world.

"You know her..." Marvin asked weakly.

"Yes, her name is Claire, and she's here to see her brother Chris," Fang Qingzhou said.

"It's Chris's sister... You can go to the atrium from the east side of the second floor... and bring her over..."

"I just got in touch with another officer... He contacted a helicopter... It will land on the roof soon... and pick you up... You don't need to keep looking for the badges..." Marvin said with difficulty.

"Really!" Elliott exclaimed immediately in surprise.

Fang Qingzhou remained skeptical about this matter. The plot of Resident Evil 2 was not even halfway through yet, so how could the system let him go so easily?

Given Leon's hidden talent as a vehicle assassin, he had a feeling that if he got on that helicopter, he would crash halfway through the flight, but he didn't voice his guess.

"Chief Marvin, do you know where the vault key is?" Fang Qingzhou continued to ask.

Regardless of whether the helicopter crashes or not, he's determined to get his hands on the shotgun.

"The key is stuck in the art room on the second floor... You can open that door with the key you just used to open the library..." Marvin said.

"Thank you, Sheriff Marvin."

"What are you thanking me for..." Marvin leaned back in his chair, a weak smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"I'm dying, I'll help you in whatever way I can... Go, bring that girl here, and then we'll all go together..."

Fang Qingzhou glanced at Marvin but said nothing more. He turned to Elliott and said, "You stay here and take care of Sheriff Marvin. I'll go pick up Claire and look for the key card."

"Are you all alone?" Elliott asked hesitantly.

"I don't need anyone else to take care of me... Don't get too close to me..." Marvin said in a deep voice.

"Elliot...go find the key card...Leon, go pick up Chris's sister..."

Fang Qingzhou and Elliott exchanged a glance, and finally nodded with some hesitation.

The two headed towards the second floor. Fang Qingzhou continued forward, while Elliott took the key and went to another room.

Fang Qingzhou could see a helicopter approaching through the window, and a policeman waving from the rooftop.

"There really is a helicopter..." Fang Qingzhou murmured to himself.

Although he had always felt that the whole thing was unlikely, seeing the helicopter actually flying over with his own eyes still gave him a glimmer of hope.

Perhaps the system has finally had a change of heart?

Perhaps the story can really end earlier?

He stared out the window, watching the helicopter get closer and closer, the sound of its rotors growing louder and louder, making the glass in the window tremble slightly.

The policeman on the rooftop had obviously seen the helicopter too, and he waved even more vigorously, jumping up and down.

But just then, the policeman on the top floor was suddenly bitten on the neck by a zombie behind him.

The policeman frantically drew his gun and fired wildly, one of the bullets hitting the approaching helicopter and striking the pilot right between the eyebrows.

Fang Qingzhou then saw the helicopter lose control and begin to fall in their direction.

"Holy crap! Is it that accurate?! Or did it crash because I glanced at it?!" Fang Qingzhou stared in disbelief as the helicopter grew larger and larger in his field of vision.

Fortunately, the helicopter did not crash into him, but instead landed in a nearby building.

Fang Qingzhou instinctively fell to the ground, covering his head with his hands. The shockwave felt like an invisible giant hand shoving him hard.

He lay on the ground, his ears ringing, the world in front of him shaking violently. Soon, Fang Qingzhou pushed himself up, shook his head, and looked at the crashed helicopter.

The helicopter was completely stuck inside the building, reduced to a pile of scrap metal.

"Leon! Are you alright!"

Just as Fang Qingzhou was about to continue checking, Claire's voice came from downstairs.

Fang Qingzhou then remembered that he had come to see Claire.

"wait for me!"

Fang Qingzhou immediately turned around and rushed to the backyard.

On the other side of the barbed wire, Claire saw him appear safely and visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Claire, I'm so glad you're alright." Fang Qingzhou looked at her and sighed sincerely.

"A helicopter just crashed down. Are you alright?" Claire asked, looking Fang Qingzhou up and down with concern in her eyes.

"I'm fine. That was supposed to be the plane that took us away from Raccoon City... It seems we'll have to find our way out ourselves." Fang Qingzhou waved his hand helplessly as he looked at the helicopter.

"Do you have the key to this iron gate?" Claire asked, patting the iron gate in front of her.

"Let me see if I can find any tools to pick the lock..." Fang Qingzhou now gets a headache whenever he sees a door that needs to be unlocked. He looked around and soon spotted a pair of pliers.

"I found something, you wait here." Fang Qingzhou hurriedly ran over to get the pliers, but just as he held the pliers in his hand, the helicopter that had crashed on the second floor suddenly exploded violently.

The violent explosion woke up all the zombies in the vicinity. The zombies that had been lying motionless on the ground behind Claire also got up and began to move towards the barbed wire fence.

"Damn it! Wait for me, Claire!" Fang Qingzhou took the pliers and went to the barbed wire to cut a big hole in it, but Claire stopped him.

"Leon, there's no time. And if we pry them open, these zombies will flood the police station, and you'll be in danger too," Claire said, then pulled out her pistol and pointed it at the approaching zombies.

"Don't worry about me, Leon. Take care of yourself and try to survive. We'll meet again someday."

After saying that, Claire took her gun, turned and left. Her footsteps grew fainter and fainter, mingling with the sound of rain and the howls of zombies, gradually fading away.

Fang Qingzhou stood on this side of the barbed wire fence, still holding the pliers, watching Claire's figure disappear around the corner of the street.

Although they had only known each other for a few hours, he couldn't help but admire Claire as a good woman.
