What do you mean the games you make are all real?!

Chapter 3 First Encounter with Zombies

The convenience store employee was pointing to a warehouse, which was filled with all sorts of goods.

Fang Qingzhou pushed open the door and went inside. There was another closed door in front of him, and he could vaguely hear the howling of something coming from inside.

Fang Qingzhou's palms were sweaty, the gun handle was sticky, and his index finger rested on the outside of the trigger guard.

According to the police academy training memories that the system had just transmitted, he was told not to put his finger on the trigger before he was sure he was going to fire; that was a mistake only beginners would make.

Because when you're nervous, your finger will involuntarily contract, and if it happens to be on the trigger, the bullet will fly out before you decide to fire, hitting something you might not want to hit.

He cautiously moved forward, gun in hand. The door was an ordinary warehouse iron door, its paint peeling and the doorknob rusted. The howling was right behind the door, very close.

He took a deep breath, slowly gripped the doorknob with his left hand, gently turned it, and leaned to the side to insert the gun barrel. The beam of the flashlight pierced through the crack in the door, illuminating the interior of the warehouse.

Inside the warehouse, a person dressed in a convenience store uniform was seen on top of a policeman, tearing at his neck and ripping off flesh to reveal the rolled-up skin and white bones underneath.

It's obvious that the police car parked outside the convenience store belongs to this policeman.

The zombie seemed to have heard the noise and suddenly raised its head. Its face was covered with blood and bits of flesh, its eyes were cloudy and white, its lips were turned up, revealing black and red gums, jagged teeth, and freshly torn flesh.

Fang Qingzhou's pupils contracted slightly. The impact of this scene was simply too strong. It was the first time in his life that he had seen such a terrifying scene.

The zombie had clearly spotted Fang Qingzhou, and it staggered to its feet before lunging at him.

Fang Qingzhou pulled the trigger without hesitation this time.

"Bang!"

Gunshots rang out in the cramped warehouse, making eardrums buzz. A bullet struck the zombie's shoulder, and blackish-red liquid splattered out. The zombie's body swayed, but its steps only paused slightly before it continued to charge forward.

"Bang!"

The second shot hit its chest. The zombie was thrown backward by the impact, but it still did not fall. Its rotting face was less than two meters away from Fang Qingzhou.

Fang Qingzhou's adrenaline surged, a strange feeling. His heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of his chest, and his limbs were trembling slightly, but his mind became unusually calm at that moment.

Memories of Leon's police academy training resurfaced in his mind, and he immediately aimed his gun at the zombie's head.

"Bang!"

As the third gunshot rang out, the bullet pierced through the zombie's grayish-white eyeballs, and the zombie's head exploded like a watermelon being smashed by a hammer, splattering black and red liquid everywhere. The zombie took two more steps forward before crashing to the ground.

Fang Qingzhou stood there, panting heavily, his hands trembling violently. He looked down at the headless corpse, his stomach churning, but he couldn't vomit anything.

It took him almost a minute to recover from the extreme shock. The scene he had just witnessed completely shattered all his previous shallow understanding of zombie games.

"System, what are those experience points for? I don't see any level on my account." Fang Qingzhou asked.

Experience points can be used to upgrade skills and special abilities, reducing the difficulty for the host to clear levels.

[Friendly reminder: The tutorial has ended. Please leave the convenience store immediately and head to Raccoon City.]

"Beginner's tutorial? What does that mean?" Fang Qingzhou was stunned again.

But the next moment he knew what it meant, because the policeman who had just been torn apart by the zombie had stood up unsteadily.

And then he heard the howling of zombies behind him; the convenience store clerk he had just seen had now turned into a zombie.

He was surrounded.

"Damn it!" Fang Qingzhou was filled with regret.

I should have shot that convenience store clerk in the head just now, but now is not the time to regret it. These zombies are not moving fast, and there is still a glimmer of hope.

He immediately raised his gun again, aimed at the police zombie that had just turned into a zombie, and decisively pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting him right between the eyebrows.

But to Fang Qingzhou's disbelief, the zombie merely tilted its head back, paused for two seconds, and then continued to pounce on him.

"Why aren't they dying even with headshots?!" Fang Qingzhou was really panicking. Isn't the head a zombie's weak point? Why can't he kill them now even with headshots?

Undeterred, he pulled the trigger again, firing three bullets in quick succession to the zombie's head before it finally collapsed to the ground.

[Kill 1 zombie, experience points +10]

Before Fang Qingzhou could even catch his breath, he felt something hug him, followed by a sharp, excruciating pain.

The convenience store clerk, now a zombie, had come up behind him, hugged him, and bit his shoulder.

This was the first time in Fang Qingzhou's life that he had experienced such pain. He endured the excruciating pain and pressed the gun muzzle against the zombie's eye before pulling the trigger. As the bullet pierced the zombie's brain, the teeth that were biting his shoulder finally loosened, and the already rotting corpse slumped to the ground with a dull thud.

[Kill 1 zombie, experience points +10]

Fang Qingzhou ignored the system's prompts, staggered back two steps, and bumped into the shelf behind him. Several cases of drinks fell down with a clatter, hitting the ground with a dull thud.

He looked down at his left shoulder, where a large gash had been torn open, the skin inside a bloody mess, teeth marks deeply embedded in the flesh, and dark red blood flowing down his arm.

Fang Qingzhou gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, sweat mixed with blood streaming down his arms. The protagonist's halo prevented him from being bitten or scratched and infected into a zombie.

But not getting infected doesn't mean you won't feel pain.

[Special skill triggered by Bristleback: Pain reduction]

The next moment, the excruciating pain in my shoulder suddenly subsided.

The excruciating pain, which felt like being branded with a red-hot iron, instantly lessened to the sensation of being stung by a bee.

Although it was still uncomfortable, it was completely bearable and did not affect movement at all. The wound also stopped bleeding slowly under the effect of the skill.

"System, this skill didn't activate just now, why did it only activate after I was in pain!" Fang Qingzhou cursed angrily.

[This is also part of the beginner's tutorial. I hope the host can change their mindset to survive better. Also, please escape the convenience store as soon as possible.]

Fang Qingzhou cursed the system's ancestors in his mind, but he didn't have time to argue with this damn system now. He needed to leave quickly, because if he stayed here, he would definitely encounter more zombies.

He only had ten bullets in his pistol, and he had already fired seven shots. Now he only had three bullets left, so he had to go to other places to scavenge for supplies.

He ran quickly out of the warehouse with his gun in hand, but a zombie had somehow appeared in the convenience store outside, lying next to the shelf, its rotting arm frantically clawing forward, trying to stop him.

Fang Qingzhou was unwilling to waste his precious bullets on this guy. He turned sideways and kicked the nearby shelf hard. The heavy shelf crashed down and landed on the zombie, trapping it tightly.

He continued running towards the door, but just as he was about to exit the convenience store, he saw someone running towards him.

It was a woman wearing a red leather jacket, the zipper half-open, revealing a black vest underneath. Her hair was dark brown and tied in a neat ponytail. Her spirited face bore an expression that Fang Qingzhou was all too familiar with at this moment: fear and panic.

Their eyes met in mid-air.

A name flashed through Fang Qingzhou's mind: Claire Redfield.
