"Reverse! Reverse quickly!" Claire shouted anxiously.

Just as Fang Qingzhou started the engine again, intending to reverse and kill all the zombies, a car horn suddenly sounded behind them.

Fang Qingzhou turned his head and saw a 100-ton truck heading uncontrollably toward them.

"Get out of the car!" Fang Qingzhou shouted as he pushed open the car door.

Being bitten by a zombie is better than being smashed into a pulp by a hundred-ton truck, but the zombies are still blocking the way, and the car door can't be opened at all.

"I can't open it!" Claire was in the same boat; the car door was blocked by zombies.

Fang Qingzhou drew his pistol, intending to use his two precious bullets to kill the zombies outside before pushing open the car door and getting out.

But it was too late; the massive cab of that hundred-ton truck had already filled the entire rearview mirror.

"Hold on!" Fang Qingzhou only managed to shout those two words.

"boom!!"

A violent impact exploded in my ears, and the whole world seemed to be fast-forwarded, with all sounds becoming sharp and distorted.

Fang Qingzhou felt like his body was a baseball being hit by a bat, bouncing around in the cockpit.

The airbag deployed with a bang, slamming into Fang Qingzhou's face. A tingling sensation shot through his nose, and warm liquid flowed from his nostrils, sliding down his lips and into his mouth, the salty, fishy taste spreading across his tongue.

[Steelback effect triggered, doubles resistance to impacts, significantly reducing damage taken from collisions.]

It's unclear how much time passed—perhaps only a few seconds, perhaps a dozen seconds—before Fang Qingzhou's consciousness slowly returned.

He felt like the whole world was spinning, and the sounds around him seemed to come through a thick layer of cotton, muffled and indistinct. His eyelids felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, and he had to use all his strength to open them a crack.

The world before my eyes was a complete mess.

The front of the police car was completely deformed, the hood was crumpled like paper, and the windshield was shattered into a spider web pattern with dense cracks spreading outwards from the center.

Fortunately, the 100-ton truck had already bumped into other vehicles on the side of the road to slow down before crashing into their police car. If it had been a head-on collision at full speed, they would have been turned into mincemeat by now.

However, Fang Qingzhou soon smelled a strong odor of gasoline. He covered his still dizzy head, opened the car door, and climbed out. The moment he got out of the car, the police car behind him exploded.

The powerful shockwave threw Fang Qingzhou directly into the door of the car next to him, denting a large section of the door.

[Brute Force effect triggered]

Fang Qingzhou lay on the ground coughing violently, almost vomiting up his internal organs.

Two consecutive impacts would have left an ordinary person half-dead or dead, but fortunately, now that he's a Steelback, it's just a moment of pain, and he didn't even break any bones.

"Damn it... There's no 'Vehicle Killer' title on the panel, how could it explode like this... Could this be a hidden attribute for Leon...?"

Fang Qingzhou clutched his stomach as he got up from the ground, looking at the police car that had turned into a fireball and muttering to himself.

But then he quickly remembered that Claire was still in the car. Could the female protagonist of Resident Evil have just died like this? He hurriedly shouted.

"Claire, are you still alive?!"

Soon, Claire's voice came from the opposite side of the burning police car.

"I'm fine! How are you?"

Upon hearing Claire's voice, Fang Qingzhou breathed a sigh of relief.

He knew that as one of the female protagonists of Resident Evil, she wouldn't die so easily; she probably also had the protagonist's halo, and maybe she had also unlocked the Bristleback skill like him.

"I'm fine, but it looks like we'll have to split up," Fang Qingzhou called out.

The fire from the exploding car separated him from Claire. There was no way to wait for the fire to go out now. The zombies around them were attracted by the sound of the explosion and were now surrounding them. If this continued, they would really be bitten to death.

"You go first! We'll meet at the police station!" Claire replied.

"Be careful!" Fang Qingzhou didn't hesitate any longer, took the pistol, and started running forward.

Dozens of zombies followed closely behind him, but fortunately, these zombies were not moving very fast.

However, this also attracted more and more zombies to follow him, and when he could no longer run, he would be torn to pieces.

"Run, you deadbeat!"

Fang Qingzhou gritted his teeth and ran for his life, but as his strength gradually ran out, his speed inevitably began to decrease. However, those zombies had unlimited stamina, and the distance between them and Fang Qingzhou began to gradually shrink.

Finally, when the zombies were only a meter away from Fang Qingzhou, he finally saw the Raccoon City Police Department.

Fang Qingzhou suddenly mustered his last bit of strength, accelerated, and sprinted to the police station's large iron gate. He slammed the heavy gate shut with his bare hands and, with all his might, pulled down the metal bolt.

The bolt was firmly locked into the slot, and the sound of metal clashing rang out crisply in the rain.

The next moment, countless zombies crashed wildly against the iron gate.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The rotting, cold hands pounded and slammed against the iron bars, causing the entire iron gate to tremble and shake violently. The zombies' hoarse, piercing roars were right next to us, and the pungent, nauseating stench of decay poured in through the cracks in the door, filling our nostrils.

Fang Qingzhou took two steps back, bent over and supported himself on his knees, panting heavily, his chest heaving wildly, like a fish stranded on the shore and about to suffocate.

He survived.

He actually survived the car accident, the explosion, and the pursuit of a horde of zombies.

After calming his breathing, Fang Qingzhou slowly straightened up and looked up at the building in front of him.

This is not a traditional police station; it looks more like a medieval church. If it weren't for the RACCOON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT sign above it, no one would think it was a police station.

Fang Qingzhou had no time to look at the strangeness of the building anymore. The iron gate behind him was creaking under the strain. The zombies were ramming the gate with increasing force, and the bolts were vibrating in their slots, as if they might break off at any moment.

He turned and ran towards the main entrance of the police station, rushing up the steps in three quick steps and pushing the door open.

After the door was pushed open, there was a huge hall inside, which even had a huge statue of a goddess. However, there was no one or not a single zombie in the huge hall.

Fang Qingzhou did not let his guard down. He raised his gun and began to survey the surrounding environment. Soon he found two objects on the table in front of him that were emitting a faint light.

He went closer and saw that there was half a box of 9mm bullets and a bottle of first aid spray.

"Is this the effect of the title 'Li Sanguang'?" Fang Qingzhou picked up the half-box of bullets, and the faint light emanating from it immediately disappeared.

He checked and found he still had ten bullets left, which slightly alleviated his bullet crisis, ensuring he wouldn't be completely helpless if he encountered zombies again.

Unlike games where you can reload with a single click, in the real world, bullets can't be conjured out of thin air. He couldn't wait to disassemble the ammunition and carefully press each bullet into the pistol magazine.

Only after the magazine was completely filled did my tense emotions finally relax completely.
