What do you mean the games you make are all real?!

Chapter 55: Release of Resident Evil Mission 3

While Fang Qingzhou was still dealing with the corpses and prisoners of the first batch of invaders who had invaded the factory in Nusantara, Resident Evil: Raccoon City Chapter 3 had been quietly released globally, along with the Claire DLC.

The Little Brown Box forum's servers experienced a surge in response latency of hundreds of points the moment Chapter 3 went live due to excessive traffic. On average, posts on the homepage would be pushed to the second page by new posts in less than half a minute.

"Finally, a new level has been released! I've been waiting so long! I've been checking the official website hundreds of times a day since I finished Chapter 2!"

"Upstairs, Mitten releases one level a week. That's ridiculously fast by the standards of the entire gaming industry. Some big studios can't even produce a single DLC in three years. And I'm still stuck on the second level. How did you guys even get past the Licker level?"

"Hey guys, wait a minute, I think I'm seeing things. How many levels has MiTeng released?"

"Holy crap! Miteng released four levels in one go!"

"One level is the third level of Resident Evil, just like before, and the other three levels are Claire's DLC! Holy crap! A bundle for two hundred!"

"Has Miteng changed its mind? Is it trying to survive by selling at such low prices?"

"I really should call Miteng Mi-daddy now!"

"They're probably just reusing previous content, then changing the protagonist and playing through it again, making a quick buck and then another. You're really something, Miteng!"

"Even if you reuse all the previous materials, it's still very cheap. I spent 300 yuan to complete the first two levels! Now, a package deal for all three levels for only 200 yuan is a really good deal!"

"We clumsy people are saved!"

"Don't rush to criticize. I saw on the official website that Claire's storyline has its own independent storyline, and it will also intertwine with Leon's storyline later on. It's something to look forward to. However, there are no rewards for completing the DLC. If you want the rewards, you have to play Leon's storyline. Everyone should play the main storyline first and then play the DLC."

"By the way, has Captain Ao been discharged from the hospital? I'm still waiting to see him play the third level. Although his gameplay is really terrible, it's quite interesting to see him break through defenses. I watched that recording of him getting headshot by the Licker fifty times over several times."

"Stop messing with Captain Ao. If he keeps playing like this, he'll probably go insane. Let's watch Brother Kai's live stream and work out some strategies so we can die less and save some money to go eat at Mudanlou on Thursday."

"That's right. First, watch Brother Kai's live stream to make a strategy and try to grab one of the 100,000 spots. You guys have no idea how ridiculously high the price of Umbrella's medicine has become. It's already over 10,000 per bottle. If you get just one bottle, you'll have enough money for the next few years of gaming and for eating at Mudanlou on Thursdays!"

"Captain Ao is streaming! Brothers, hurry up and watch!"

Just then, Captain Ao, who had just returned from the hospital, swallowed a few blood pressure pills and started a live stream. The moment he started the live stream, a large number of viewers flooded in.

Captain Ao discovered that although he was frequently pushed to his limits while playing Resident Evil, and even ended up in the hospital twice, he actually became incredibly popular.

His live stream clips have gone viral on major short video platforms, with views often reaching millions or tens of millions. People in the comments section aren't there to learn his techniques, but rather to see how he reacts after he breaks down.

The hashtag "Captain Ao is in the hospital again" even trended on social media for several days.

Not all viewers enjoy watching Liao Yunkai's calm and technical style; most viewers just want to have some fun and relax after get off work.

And there's no other streamer on the entire internet who could be so scared by a game that he actually went to see a psychologist.

However, he hesitated for a long time before making the decision to continue live streaming.

This game really gave him psychological trauma, but when he saw more and more online discussions about him and more and more fans, he couldn't bear to let go of this huge amount of traffic.

"Hello everyone, welcome to my live stream!" Captain Ao greeted the viewers.

Immediately, a large number of comments flooded the screen.

"Captain Ao, you're finally discharged from the hospital! Your brothers have been waiting so long! Without your amazing maneuvers, I can't even enjoy my meals!"

"How much pain did you experience today? Last time you broke through even at 20%? This time, 10%?"

"Peanuts, melon seeds, and bottled water for sale in the front row. Waiting for Captain Ao to break through defenses again."

"Captain Ao, don't back down! Let's keep the pain level at 100% today, I'll send you rockets! I'm Principal Wang's alt account, and I mean what I say!"

"Are you trying to get him arrested a third time? The third time might really mean he'll be sent straight to the ICU."

Captain Ao looked at the dense barrage of comments and the ever-increasing number of online users, and couldn't help but smile.

The number of online viewers had already exceeded 200,000, and it was still increasing by hundreds per second. He cleared his throat and put on that exaggerated expression that the audience was most familiar with.

"Brothers! Captain Ao is back! As the saying goes, things don't happen more than three times, and I refuse to believe I can end up in the hospital again today! I'll turn the pain simulation up to 5%, and I won't stop streaming until I clear this level!" As he spoke, he put on his virtual reality headset and turned the pain simulation down to the lowest setting.

He refused to believe that the lowest level of pain was not enough to pass the level; even if he died all the way through, he would die at the finish line.

"You chickened out! You really chickened out! Captain Ao, you cowardly dog!"

"From 100% to 5%, Captain Ao, where did your backbone go? Was it eaten by the Lickers?"

"Stop talking nonsense and get into the game! I want to see the new monsters!"

Captain Ao ignored the mocking comments on the screen, clicked the start button, and after the familiar loading screen, he soon saw the familiar underground parking lot.

"Last time, we were saved by a mysterious woman. Now let's continue the story."

Captain Ao quickly moved on to the next part of the story, and the mysterious woman took out her identification and began to introduce herself.

"This mysterious woman is Ada Wong, an FBI member, or in other words, a female agent. She has an informant in the nearby prison. Let's follow her and see if we find any clues." Captain Ao explained the plot as he walked alongside Ada Wong.

The comments were scrolling by.

"The female agent concept is so appealing! She can move freely through hordes of zombies while wearing high heels and black stockings. I wonder if there'll be a romance storyline later on? Looking forward to it!"

"I don't think so. I thought there was a romantic storyline between him and Claire, but Claire has only appeared twice, and I had almost forgotten about the character."

"By the way, don't you guys think the layout of this police station is really weird? Who puts the cells and the parking lot together like that?"

Captain Ada Wong followed Ada Wong to the nearby prison. Many of the prisoners inside had turned into zombies, but they were all locked up by bars. However, in the blink of an eye, Ada Wong disappeared.

"Holy crap! Where is she?" Captain Ao looked around but couldn't find Ada.

"As expected of a female agent, she's truly elusive."

Captain Ao chuckled twice and continued forward, soon spotting a living man in a cell at the end of the corridor.

"Are you here to rescue me, or were you sent by Elons to silence me?" the man asked, revealing a stubble-faced man.

"Elons, I remember Elliott said that was the police chief, but he didn't seem to be a good person." Captain Ao began to review the background setting in front of the comments, and then continued to talk to the man in the cell according to the prompts.

"I wasn't sent by Elons. I'm on my way to escape and just happened to run into you. Why are you imprisoned here? What's your connection to Elons?"

"Of course it's related. I was locked up by that guy because I discovered his long-term collusion with Umbrella Corporation. He accepted huge bribes from Umbrella over the past five years and helped them cover up the truth about biological weapons research. This virus was leaked from their underground laboratory." The man leaned against the wall and sneered.

"I'm a journalist, and he was afraid I'd expose him, so he locked me up."

Upon hearing this, a large number of comments began scrolling across the screen.

In the first two chapters of Resident Evil, the Umbrella Corporation's role remained ambiguous, and almost all the supplies in the game were printed with that red and white umbrella logo.

Players used Umbrella products for two whole chapters, developing a contradictory dependence on the name. Through the story, you know that Umbrella might not be a good thing, but you still have to use its products to survive.

This is now confirmed.

"Holy crap, Umbrella Corporation is really the villain!"

"Miten is really something, portraying their big spender as the main villain. Umbrella provided you with technical data and sponsored your R&D expenses, and this is how you repay them? Aren't you afraid of getting your investment withdrawn?"

"Speaking of which, is Umbrella actually researching bioweapons in real life? It just doesn't feel right for a skincare company to be doing such detailed virus settings and monster designs."

"Don't get your hopes up. Biological weapons are nowhere near as lucrative as skincare products. Umbrella's priority right now is to increase production; they don't have the energy to develop biological weapons."

Captain Ao glanced at the comments but didn't participate in the discussion. Instead, he continued to advance the plot.

"I'll release you."

"No need, it's not necessarily safer outside than here," the man continued.

Just then, a giant gray-white fist emerged from a hole in the wall, its five thick fingers spread out and slammed into the reporter's face.

The reporter's head was crushed like an egg by the grip of that giant hand, with blood, flesh, and bone fragments splattering out from between the fingers and covering the mottled walls of the cell.

Then the giant fist slowly retracted into the hole in the wall, leaving only a large, rough-edged hole in the wall.

"Damn!" Captain Ao was startled by the scene.

The comments section started scrolling.

"You scared the hell out of me!"

"That hand looks like the Tyrant's. I was wondering why the Tyrant disappeared after appearing once before. Turns out he was waiting here."

"Captain Ao, run fast, or you'll be the next one to get your head crushed!"

Without needing any prompts from the comments, Captain Ao had already taken off running. Soon, he saw Ada Wong, who had disappeared earlier, at the entrance of the parking lot. She pulled out a key card from somewhere and opened the door to the underground parking lot.

Captain Ao quickly followed, and they went into the gun shop together. There they met the gun shop owner, Kento, and his daughter, as well as Sheriff Marvin's daughter.

The storylines of Kendo, the gun shop owner, and Marvin's daughter unfolded before him.

"I can't take it anymore, I'm about to break down in tears. That son of a bitch Mi Teng actually wrote something horrible." When Captain Ao blew her head off Chief Marvin's daughter, he also couldn't hold back his emotions.

The comments on the screen were far more intense than his insults.

"No! Sheriff Marvin is dead, and now his daughter is dead too! What did this family ever do to deserve this?!"

"I want to send Mitten knives too! A whole box of them! Does anyone have the address of Mitten's headquarters?!"

"We must find the bastards who caused this crisis!"

After taking a few deep breaths to calm himself down, Captain Ada continued forward with him. They soon arrived at the entrance to the sewers and encountered hundreds of cockroaches that were half a meter long.

The comments on the screen scrolled by at an unprecedented speed.

"Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!!! So many twin tails?! Each one is as long as my arm!!"

"My trypophobia is acting up!!! I'm going to die!! They're still moving!! Their tentacles are still moving!!"

"This is disgusting! Half-meter-long cockroaches! And hundreds of them! Mi Teng, are all the art teams insane?!"

"The Guangfu resident said this was nothing (he foamed at the mouth and collapsed)."

"Captain Ao, throw a grenade!! You have one in your waist pack!!"

"He was terrified, hahaha!! I'm terrified too!"

"I can't take it anymore, I'm going to throw up!!! What on earth happened to the art team of this game?!"

"Captain Ao is definitely going to end his broadcast soon."

Captain Ao was truly terrified; upon seeing the dense swarm of cockroaches, he froze on the spot.

He has been terrified of insects since he was a child, and seeing so many insects at once is enough to make his heart stop.

He quickly paused the game, took off the virtual reality headset, and took two blood pressure pills. He hesitated about whether to continue, but after seeing the number of online players displayed on the computer screen next to him, he gritted his teeth and put the game headset back on.

"I, Captain Ao, will be bitten to death by cockroaches a hundred times today, but I will still pass the level!" Captain Ao said through gritted teeth to the comments, and then charged into the swarm of cockroaches as if going to his death.

After being bitten to death ten times by giant cockroaches, Captain Ao finally made it through the swarm of cockroaches and then shouted to the live chat.

"Haters, you're talking! I, Captain Ao, mean what I say! Those who were saying I'd be taken off the air, saying I'd be imprisoned for the third time, are your faces still burning? Aren't they hurt?!"

The comments section immediately split into two camps.

"Hey, speak up! Ao Family Army, assemble!"

"You're just getting ahead of yourself. By the way, why is your voice still trembling?"

"I'm dying of laughter. I just played Captain Ao's live stream out loud, and the neighbors thought I was slaughtering a pig in my room."

"To be fair, Captain Ao has indeed improved since before."

"Are you all watching Captain Ao get tortured while I'm the only one watching Ada swatting cockroaches? Ada is truly a female agent, her marksmanship is amazing. She took down at least a third of them just now. She's strong and beautiful, I love her, but it's a pity she's too aloof towards us."

With his pain sensitivity set to five percent, Captain Ao could accept dying ten times over, which strengthened his resolve to clear the level tonight.

"Let's move on."

Captain Ao continued forward with great confidence, but his confidence waned after feeling the ground shake and seeing a huge figure flash by in front of him.

The comments section went on a frenzy again.

"What the hell is that thing, it's so big?"

"I saw it clearly, it's that crocodile!! It's definitely that crocodile!!"

"Hey upstairs, did your crocodile grow to be two stories tall?"

"They even have cockroaches that are half a meter long, so why can't they have crocodiles that are two stories long?"

Captain Ao swallowed hard and continued forward, saying to the live chat, "I advise Mi Teng to be kind. That thing was just meant to scare us; it was definitely not meant for us to shoot."

"Look, it just flashed by and then disappeared, which means it was just background, just for atmosphere. No matter how ruthless Miteng is, he would never let players face off against a giant crocodile that is ten or twenty meters long, right? Right?"

He spoke without any confidence, but he still had to keep going.

Soon, Captain Ao jumped into the sewer as part of the script. He looked around but didn't find any monsters.

"It seems Miteng has actually been kind this time. It's just that the surrounding environment is really indescribable. Could Miteng have really gone into the sewers to scan? Players with OCD are really lucky."

Just as Captain Ao was complaining about the surrounding environment, the water surface suddenly rippled and then burst open, revealing a dark outline larger than the front of a truck.

Captain Ao subconsciously swept the beam of his flashlight over the area, and the outline became clearer.

That thing was as tall as a two-story building, its entire body covered in bumpy scales, and its huge, open mouth was filled with barbed teeth, each one longer than an arm.

When that yellow eyeball turned around, Captain Ao felt his heart stop for a full second, and his piercing scream echoed throughout the live broadcast room.

"Miten! Holy shit! Holy shit!"

The comments section was flooded with messages at an unprecedented speed.

"Hahahaha, this is hilarious!!"

"Does anyone have the screen recording of Captain Ao saying Mi Teng is kind?! I want to make a GIF!!"

"What are you waiting for?! Run! This thing can take a kid down in one bite!!!"

"Captain Ao, don't back down!! Let's take him down! You said you'd beat the game even if you died a hundred times!! You've only died ten times!!"

Captain Ao immediately took off running, but he hadn't gone far before he felt it getting dark.

Then comes the resurrection notification.
