Chapter 46 Rebellion
Chapter 46 Rebellion
Time is passing by, bit by bit.
One night, Akadilla quietly emerged from the camp behind him, followed by two knights.
They moved quickly and soon left the camp, arriving at a secluded place.
Several figures were already standing there, seemingly having waited for a long time. Sensing footsteps approaching from afar, they all turned to look in Akadira's direction.
"Akadila, you've come."
A deep, resonant voice came from ahead.
Ahead, several figures emerged from the shadows and slowly approached Akadilla and the others.
These were several warriors dressed in light green leather armor, their expressions indifferent. Even though they were facing the legendary First Knight of the North, Akadira, they showed no fear whatsoever.
Standing behind them was a young man who looked very young, but his face showed obvious signs of vicissitude.
"Sol, what brings you here today?"
Looking at the young man before him, a rare hint of apprehension appeared in Akadilla's eyes as he asked him a question.
As a collaborator, he knew all too well the power of this seemingly young man before him, a power that was certainly no less than his own.
Ahead, upon hearing Arcadilla's shouts, the young man named Thor turned around, his face calm as he looked at Arcadilla before him: "I've come to inform you that the previous plan is almost complete. Except for a few who slipped through the net, all the people we sent out before have been wiped out by our men."
"A fish that slipped through the net?" Arcadilla accurately caught the word the other party uttered and asked in return with some doubt.
"That half-elf escaped; he's the young knight you specifically warned us about before."
Thor sighed with admiration, "He's really something. I sent out two good knights and a small squad of elite warriors to deal with this kid, and he wiped them all out by himself."
"It's unbelievable. When I was his age, I wasn't even a knight yet."
"Hmph!" Akadira snorted coldly, somewhat dissatisfied, "I warned you to be careful of this child a long time ago, but it seems you still didn't listen to me."
Thor shook his head at this, and then said, "It's all in the past, there's no point in talking about it anymore."
"I've come here specifically to remind you that the next step of the plan can begin."
His face regained its composure as he looked at Akadilla before him: "In just over a month, under your cover, our people have already infiltrated the vicinity. Dragging this out any longer will not benefit anyone."
"The inside agents within the castle are ready and will be activated in seven days. Then it will be your and my turn to take the field."
··········
The sound of conversations continued to echo in this place. After an unknown amount of time, Arcadilla finally emerged from that corner, still followed by the two knights who had come with him.
He walked back to his camp with a calm expression, as if nothing had happened.
Several days later, on a bright and sunny morning, Count Poria sat quietly in his hall, looking at a thick stack of draft paper, deep in thought.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of unrest in the North, causing considerable headaches for the de facto ruler of the North.
In the northern region of the Kingdom of Arieux, the Fakus family had ruled for nearly a century. Although nominally still part of the Kingdom of Arieux, it was practically an independent small kingdom.
As the frontier bordering many northern kingdoms, the North has never been very stable. Almost every few years, it has to fight with several northern kingdoms, making the region extremely chaotic.
It wasn't until Poria took over the Fakus family and became the de facto ruler of the North that the chaotic situation in the North improved. He skillfully and gradually brought order to the region, firmly grasping it in his own hands.
However, the situation in the Northland has been quite dire recently. First, the orcs in the northern mountains caused unrest, which drained a lot of the Northland's resources and energy. Then, the border was also in turmoil, with large numbers of bandits and orcs pouring in from there, disrupting the situation in the Northland.
Meanwhile, within the country, Arcadilla, the first knight of the North, returned with the prestige of victory, and his reputation soared. During this time, he also stirred up trouble, making Poria feel a great threat.
Thinking about this, he couldn't help but feel a headache coming on, and an unprecedented sense of exhaustion welled up inside him.
He is old now, nearly fifty years old, which is considered old age in this world, and his physical strength and energy are not what they used to be.
"Perhaps, once this period is over, it's time for Elwar to take over."
The thought flashed through his mind, and he appeared somewhat tired.
A gust of wind gradually came from behind him. Hearing this sound, Polya slowly stood up and suddenly felt that something was wrong.
"Caddis!" he suddenly shouted.
"My lord, I am here!" A familiar, deep voice rang out in an instant, responding to him as it had always been.
Hearing his captain's familiar voice, Poria breathed a sigh of relief and subconsciously looked in the direction from which the voice came.
click!
At that moment, the sound of a longsword being drawn rang out, bringing with it a fierce gust of wind that traveled to Count Poria's front, causing a faint pain on his face.
A long sword appeared in his line of sight, almost touching his face.
"You!" Polya was shocked, feeling the long sword thrusting towards him, and his body fell to the side.
Even when suddenly attacked, his superb knight-level physical abilities allowed him to react quickly. After narrowly dodging the first blow, he drew his longsword from his waist and launched a fearless counterattack.
The two superhuman knights fought fiercely in the hall, each blow delivered with reckless ferocity, as if they were courting death.
bump!!
The two longswords vibrated in the air, producing a loud clang.
Using the recoil from the longsword, Poria and Cadis separated, finally getting a brief chance to catch their breath.
"Why?" he shouted at Cadis across from him, his face contorted with intense anger.
"Polia! Do you remember that child you beat to death more than a decade ago?!"
Kadis's face was contorted with rage, and he looked utterly terrifying: "That's my son!"
Upon hearing this, Count Poria was taken aback. Before he could react, he was entangled by Cadis, who pounced on him from the front, and the previous exchange continued.
