Chapter 37 Ma Hongjun's Design! Shrek Academy - German-Style School Uniform!
Oscar scratched his head: "Anywhere I could take a shower would be fine—it's such a hassle to boil water every time I want to take a shower these days."

Ma Hongjun thought for a moment and said, "Build a dedicated training room, an indoor one. That way we can train even on rainy days, so we don't have to stop training every time we get wet."
Flanders nodded and wrote down all the requirements.
The budget for the first phase of the project was approximately 10,000 gold soul coins.
This includes the construction of the school walls, gates, paved training grounds, renovated classrooms, improved dormitories, expanded canteen, warehouses, a pharmacy, a small library, and a medical room.
Ten thousand gold soul coins.
Three months ago, Flander wouldn't have dared to even dream of such a sum. But now, the academy has over 20,000 gold soul coins in its account, more than enough to cover the cost.
"Let's do these things for the first phase. We'll earn more money when we run out; there's no rush to get everything done in one go."
No one objected.
The highlight of the evening was the school uniforms.
Flanders called everyone to his office and said that the college needed to have uniforms and signs.
"A college that doesn't even have a decent set of clothes, what kind of reputation does that make?" Flander rarely paid attention to his appearance.
Zao Wou-Ki was the first to pull out his design.
He pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, unfolded it, and saw a large robe with a round collar and wide sleeves, which looked no different from the most ordinary cultivation clothes on the market.
The only "highlight" was a crooked "史" (history) character embroidered on the chest, the handwriting slanted as if written with a foot.
Li Yusong was the second. His design was slightly better; at least he added a belt to the long robe, cinching the waist. But overall, it was still the kind of ordinary style that you wouldn't notice in a crowd.
Lu Qibin and Shao Xin also presented their respective designs.
Each one is simpler than the last.
Each one is more ordinary than the last.
Flanders stared silently at the designs, his expression grim. He had drawn his own version, but now it seemed embarrassing to even show it.
"Hongjun, what are your thoughts?" Flander placed his last hope on Ma Hongjun.
Ma Hongjun took a deep breath and pulled out a stack of papers from his pocket.
He drew these one by one in his spare time outside of training.
In his previous life, he was a military enthusiast who knew all kinds of military uniforms like the back of his hand.
The design of German military uniforms—with their crisp lines, tailored cuts, exquisite details, and sophisticated style—is an aesthetic system that will never go out of style in any era.
He adapted these designs to meet the specific needs of the Douluo Continent, making localized improvements.
The first sheet of paper is unfolded.
Everyone was stunned.
It was a dark blue stand-up collar blouse with double-breasted brass buttons, complete with epaulettes, collar insignia, and cuff decorations. The belt cinched the waist, and the trousers were impeccably tailored. When worn, the overall silhouette from shoulders to waist was smooth and sharp, like a drawn sword.
"This is the men's version," Ma Hongjun said.
The second sheet of paper is unfolded.
Women's version. Same dark blue color, same stand-up collar and double-breasted design, but the skirt design is more suitable for the movement needs of female Soul Masters.
The belt also cinches the waist, but its lines are softer.
The third sheet of paper.
The college flag. It has a dark blue background with a gold emblem in the center and silver decorative lines at the four corners. The flag's edges are trimmed with gold tassels, giving it a simple yet sophisticated overall style.
The fourth sheet of paper.
The academy emblem features a four-eyed owl with outstretched wings—a tribute to Flander's martial spirit. The owl's wings are spread, protecting a ball of golden flame in the center. Within the flame, the outline of a phoenix is faintly visible, symbolizing Ma Hongjun's Path of the Phoenix.
Below the emblem are two crossed swords, representing battle. Below the swords is an open book, representing knowledge.
The badge features a meticulous composition, clear layers, simple lines, and sophisticated color scheme. The combination of gold, silver, and dark blue creates a look that is both dignified and elegant, without being dull or gaudy.
The air in the office seemed to freeze.
Zhao Wuji opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.
Li Yusong pushed up his glasses, revealing undisguised shock behind the lenses.
Lu Qibin's teacup remained suspended in mid-air, as he forgot to put it down.
Shao Xin's mouth was moving, as if he was saying something, but no sound came out.
Oscar stood up abruptly, leaned close to the papers, and looked at them from left to right, up to down, his mouth agape the whole time.
Flanders remained silent for a long time.
He picked up the papers and examined them carefully, turning them over and over. His expression revealed nothing, but Ma Hongjun noticed that his hands were trembling slightly.
"Hongjun," Flander finally spoke, his voice a little dry.
"exist."
"Did you draw this?"
"Yes."
"What's going on in your head?"
Ma Hongjun didn't know how to answer, so he could only scratch his head.
Flander put down the blueprints and glanced at the others.
"And yours?"
Zhao Wuji silently stuffed the crumpled piece of paper back into his pocket.
Li Yusong, Lu Qibin, and Shao Xin also put away their respective "works" in unison.
"Then let's go with Hongjun's set," Flander decided.
Passed unanimously.
Ma Hongjun looked at the blueprints, a slight smile playing on his lips.
He knew that if he wore this school uniform, Shrek Academy would have a completely different vibe.
Military-style design is an aesthetic that will never go out of style in any era.
It conveys not only aesthetic appeal, but also a spirit of discipline, rigor, elite status, and honor.
This is the very soul of an academy.
After the school uniform issue was settled, Flander carefully put away Ma Hongjun's design drawings, as if he were handling some rare treasure.
Watching from the side, Zhao Wuji couldn't help but mutter, "My drawing isn't that bad, is it?"
No one responded.
Zhao Wuji silently shut his mouth.
"Next is the third thing."
Flander sat back in his chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. "Repair the academy. I've roughly noted down what everyone said, but it's not detailed enough. If we're going to do it, we should do it the best. We can't finish the repairs only to find that this part is no good and that part is no good, and then have to redo it, which would be a waste of money."
He pulled a brand new sheet of white paper from the drawer and spread it on the table.
"One at a time. The courtyard wall."
"Made of stone, two meters high," Zhao Wuji was the first to speak. "Sturdy, good-looking, and it can block the wind."
"Stone is expensive," Shao Xin said subconsciously, then laughed to himself, "Forget it, we don't need to save money now. Let's build it with stones then."
Flanders wrote on the paper, "Courtyard wall: stone, two meters high."
"School gate".
"It needs to be impressive," Oscar rarely commented. "We can't let people come in and want to leave as soon as they see a broken door."
Ma Hongjun added, "The words 'Shrek Academy' should be engraved on the lintel. The font should be bold and elegant; it would be best to find someone with good calligraphy skills to write it."
Flanders nodded and wrote, "School gate: Impressive, inscription."
"Training field. Harden it, pave it with stone slabs."
"Plant a row of trees around the playground to provide some shade during training in the summer."
"We don't need too many classrooms, but each one should be spacious. The desks and chairs should be sturdy, and the blackboards should be of good quality."
"Let's build ten dorm rooms first, that should be enough. We can add more later if needed."
"Teacher Shao Xin is right to say that the cafeteria should expand its kitchen."
"We need to build a separate bathhouse for the medicinal bath, and also a hot water room next to it, so we won't have to boil water ourselves anymore."
97
"The library doesn't need to be too big; a few hundred books will suffice. We can expand it if needed in the future."
"A medical room is a must, so it's convenient for simple treatment of sprains and bruises, and for preparing medicinal baths."
Everyone chimed in with their own comments, and Flander's pen flew across the paper as he jotted down every single one.
