Chapter 1042, Chapter 1038: Wild Warband

Chapter 1042, Section 1038: Wild Battle Group (Second Update)

"Equipment." Silver Sablinova, dressed in a silver-white tight-fitting combat suit, dragged over a chair and sat down comfortably, facing the desk with a lazy body language, directly opposite his boss behind the desk.

Although the language of Sylcaria differs slightly from that of Latvinia, she didn't activate her earpiece for real-time translation, as Latin was the language used in the administrative departments. Salomon had never approached the Wild Chapter's leader in a manner outside of administrative duties, which was perhaps the only reason she could relax in his presence; Silver Sablinova had never directly faced the terrifying pressure emanating from that power armor.

In Silver Sablinova's eyes, the man sitting behind the desk now is a tall, strong scholar with glasses and calloused hands, which is also the most common image of Salomon that Latvians usually see.

A somewhat strict teacher.

Few leaders in this world are as approachable as Viktor von Doom and Salomon, because they would actually go out into the streets and slap the backsides of troublemakers, share dinner with the workers building the Starport, and explain to them the significance of the "United Truth" preached by the daytime preachers.

The Immortal City had provided Latvians with enough to eat, and local businesses had spontaneously resumed. This was the perfect time for the Latvians to fully embrace the "United Truth." Salomon and Victor personally went to the countryside to observe the public's acceptance of the preachers and the "United Truth." Perhaps due to their experience with war, the Latvians' acceptance was generally good, especially in the capital and surrounding areas. Most of these civilians had witnessed Salomon's presence firsthand. However, not everyone understood the meaning of the "United Truth." Many outside the capital were still bound by religious superstition and ignorant customs, especially in Transylvania, which had been annexed without experiencing war. The Immortal City even had to provide armed protection for preachers and teachers who ventured into the Transylvanian countryside.

These unseen enemies could not be easily eliminated with artillery and laser guns. Since the end of the civil war, new legal codes had been promulgated daily, leading to a battle of words and pen. With the gradual restoration of broadcasting and communication equipment within Latvinia, the Immortal City, having completely controlled the propaganda channels, had essentially won a major victory in the propaganda war. However, this situation was not without its setbacks. At a certain point, things took a sudden turn—the brutal murder of a teacher sent to the countryside to requisition a church for school construction, coupled with a small-scale rebellion among the locals. Victor von Doom immediately dispatched fifty genetically modified warriors to carry out a massacre, leaving no survivors. These cold-blooded warriors faithfully completed their mission, erasing all traces of the entire village.

From then on, even the most remote villages where religious forces were most entrenched became quiet. The work of preachers and teachers went much more smoothly, and Victor von Doom became known among the common people as the most ruthless and feared ruler. However, most people did not know that this order actually came from the highest office of the Immortal City, and the person who made this decision was not Victor von Doom, because the command of all genetically modified warriors was retained in the hands of only one person, and even he did not have direct command authority.

"I'm not saying the equipment you provided is bad. In fact, the helicopters and armored vehicles you gave us are enough. But learning how to use these weapons takes time. How are we supposed to fire if we don't know the range, accuracy, and blast radius of the artillery? We're not military academy students; we can only learn by doing from the manuals. And laser guns, although those weapons are very useful, my friends prefer live ammunition guns." Silver Sablinova's words were completely unconvincing, as if no one knew she arrived in a light armored vehicle, her favorite ride, the "Legist." Even the snotty-nosed kid playing in front of the administration building knew who owned the armored vehicle with the silver ferret emblem.

While other girls were worrying about acne and exams, Silver Sablinova was already playing with guns in a war-torn region. She had a natural affinity for many weapons and, under her father's guidance, learned many highly destructive professional skills, including but not limited to piloting aircraft and armored vehicles, stealth assassination, long-range sniping, and making improvised explosive devices. The equipment provided by the Immortal City revolutionized her skills.

She loved the atmosphere in Latvia; everything was vibrant, and everyone was hopeful for tomorrow. Her comrades felt the same way. Being a mercenary in Europe and America who wouldn't take dirty work wasn't a pleasant job, and to uphold her father's principles in establishing the Wild Chapter, she had to work hard to support everyone. The Immortal City's contact with the Wild Chapter began in eastern Ukraine. Silver Sablinova agreed to the Immortal City's terms because she saw how their actions genuinely helped many people.

It wasn't until the outbreak of the Latvian Civil War that Silver Sablinova realized the Immortal City's power in Eastern Europe was merely the tip of the iceberg. Although facing a complete shift in the chapter's economic structure to the Immortal City, the Wild Chapter had no objection to the complete re-equipment in the face of such a large quantity of advanced equipment; they readily accepted it. Before joining Latvian Wars, Silver Sablinova carried pistols, fragmentation grenades, and sniper rifles; now, these were replaced with laser pistols, single-molecule combat knives, plasma grenades, and precision laser rifles. The Immortal City's research department even specially created this improved silver-white combat suit for her. When in combat mode, this silver-white combat suit provides excellent optical camouflage and concealment—a privilege rarely afforded.

All of this is worthwhile. The Wild Legion deserves that equipment, and the research department isn't even worried about traitors selling it to foreign countries. This is not only because the equipment is technologically advanced and difficult for other countries to replicate, but also because the Wild Legion is trustworthy. Restoring order requires immense effort and resources. As one of the few armed forces in Latvinia with extensive combat experience, the Wild Legion, equipped with advanced weaponry by the Immortal City, can effectively eliminate resistance forces and armed gangs within Latvinia. This will free up the administration to improve people's livelihoods and deploy personnel to build public infrastructure and factories around the city.

The Wild Battle Group also collaborates with the Latvian Regular Army to relocate residents from war zones in large numbers. The administration builds housing for them near selected starport construction sites, providing them with necessities and communication equipment. However, due to the current small size and uneven combat experience of the Latvian Regular Army, this task is primarily undertaken by the Wild Battle Group. It would be absolutely irresponsible to send newly recruited soldiers with only short-term training to clear landmines.

"Ordinary people can only use the M50 model. The medical department won't treat multiple comminuted fractures caused by stupidity and overconfidence for free. The 'Principles of Biochemical Prosthetics Transplantation' clearly state that your friend's attempt to replace body parts for free through this method is absolutely impossible." Salomon put down his fork, picked up a pen, and signed an application from the Immortal City. However, he signed Victor von Doom's name; his ability to imitate handwriting was beyond question. In fact, he had once considered auctioning off counterfeit paintings to earn funds from the Immortal City, but ultimately gave up—that would be too shameful.

"The next batch of training on new equipment will be added to the training list in five days. It is a man-portable nuclear fusion weapon with anti-armor capabilities that can meet the needs of the military and police departments."

"More new equipment?" The unexpected surprise made Silver Sablinova beam with joy.

"To be precise, it's miniaturized industrial equipment." Salomon was also pleased. "This next order won't be written down, but you need to remember it. Latvia doesn't need any superheroes. If any superheroes enter the country under the guise of maintaining peace, then use fusion weapons to deal with them."
