Chapter 1099 (First Update)

The situation at Halle Airport was chaotic. On one side were passengers frantically evacuating from the terminal while simultaneously filming and live-streaming the events, and German military and police personnel and airline staff were working up a sweat. On the other side was a conflict stemming from the Sokovia Accords, a clash between seemingly superhuman forces. The former had significant disagreements over the methods of evacuating passengers, resulting in only the bare minimum of order being maintained, with passengers desperate to understand the situation nearly overwhelming airline staff.

Initially, the airline refused to comply with the German police's demand to evacuate the passengers who had already boarded the plane. However, as time went on, not only administrative staff arrived at the negotiation site, but also a large group of heavily armed soldiers carrying orders from the US military stationed in Germany. The airline's management was forced to agree to delay the flight and instruct the pilots to park the fully loaded plane in a corner of the tarmac and arrange for vehicles to pick them up as soon as possible.

Just as soon as possible.

The airline had almost no spare staff to organize an evacuation, and many passengers were left stranded after disembarking, waiting for vehicles that might never arrive, saying goodbye to their luggage. The situation on the tarmac and in the hangar that caused the flight delay was no better, as Steve Rogers' team clashed with Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes and Natasha Romanov, led by Tony Stark.

Although Steve Rogers' team had a numerical advantage, even without Tony Stark and Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes using lethal weapons, the firepower of Iron Man and War Machine's power armor was enough to force them to retreat. Due to their past camaraderie, Steve Rogers' team always held back when facing Tony Stark's team, especially Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton, who pretended to fight for a while before exchanging intelligence.

This was destined to be a three-way battle that could not be resolved peacefully. One side wanted to protect Bucky Barnes and find an opportunity to leave Germany; another side wanted to capture Bucky Barnes and bring him to justice, and also wanted to take away all the opponents of the Sokovia Accords; the last side wanted to capture or kill Bucky Barnes here, leave Germany with the honor of avenging his father, and return to Wakanda to inherit the throne. Prince T'Challa of Wakanda led the King's Guard into the battle. This eleven-man team possessed the strongest fighting force in the entire arena. T'Challa, as the vanguard, led the King's Guard like a sharp spear, swiftly piercing through the stalemate and rushing straight towards Bucky Barnes.

The King's Guard should have died protecting their monarch, but their dereliction of duty led to the tragic death of the previous king—a sin these women, who had dedicated their lives to the King of Wakanda, could not forgive. Now, the prince who was about to ascend the throne had given them a chance to atone. The King's Guard, naturally, would not let this opportunity to die a glorious death slip by. Each member of the King's Guard, wielding a vibranium spear, fought bravely, filled with remorse for the previous king's untimely demise. They poured their bitter regret into their arms and swung their weapons with all their might, completely disregarding their own safety.

Tony Stark had initially intended to hold off T'Challa, who was acting as the spearhead of the attack, but the King's Guard closely following him unhesitatingly thrust their sharp weapons at him. The vibranium-forged spearheads, relying on brute force, pierced a sparking hole in Tony Stark's breastplate. If his brakes hadn't been responsive enough to pull him up from the ground, he would have been impaled on the vibranium spear like a fish on a harpoon—not the kind of death Tony Stark desired.

This fearless fighting style intimidated Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, a soldier himself. He watched in disbelief as the woman in Wakanda combat gear charged towards him amidst warning shots. In his haste, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes failed to immediately draw his non-lethal stun gun, allowing the fire control system to automatically turn the weapon. Even as the bullet pierced her body, the royal guard still managed to throw her spear, the gleaming tip piercing Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes's leg armor and emerging from behind his thigh.

Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes immediately fell to his knees, only managing to stay upright thanks to the support of his power armor and the spear piercing his leg. The injury diagnosis indicated that one of his arteries had been severed, and his leg bone had suffered severe damage. Emergency life support sprays of hemostatic agents, wound compression, and intravenous painkillers left his mind sluggish. A King's Guard corpse, with a large hole in its chest and abdomen from a machine gun, lay before him. The remaining part of his brain couldn't comprehend what he was seeing. He wasn't unfamiliar with killing, but he had never killed a complete stranger for such an absurd reason. Both physically and psychologically, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes was incapacitated.

This was the first drop of blood shed in the battle, and from then on, the situation began to spiral out of control.

T'Challa silently raced past Tony Stark, charging straight at Bucky Barnes with terrifying fury. Steve Rogers was forced to stop, turning to raise his shield to block the Black Panther suit's claws. The vibranium claws tore four shallow scratches into the vibranium-alloy shield, the metallic scraping sound sending chills down one's spine. T'Challa then kicked the shield, but Steve Rogers was unaffected (at this point, T'Challa hadn't yet performed the Heart-Shaped Grass ritual, so he was relying solely on the Black Panther suit's power), instead using the opportunity to ram the shield into T'Challa.

Bucky Barnes also stopped, using his metal arm and a 9mm pistol given to him by Sharon Carter to fight off the King's Guard close behind. Falcon Sam Wilson skillfully swooped low, interfering with Bucky Barnes's engagement with the King's Guard. However, they tried to avoid inflicting fatal wounds, so Bucky Barnes aimed for the legs to incapacitate his opponents.

Scott Lang, initially underestimated, displayed extraordinary skill in this battle. His sudden shrinking size allowed him to easily break through the King's Guard's encirclement and appear wherever he was needed. However, Scott Lang was ultimately a civilian lacking combat skills. When he regained his original size, two well-prepared King's Guard members seized the opportunity and forcefully struck his arm with their spear shafts.

With a crisp crack of breaking bones, Scott Lang, his face covered in cold sweat, found his arms bent at an odd angle. A surge of excruciating pain overwhelmed him, rendering him incapable of thought. He collapsed to the ground, howling in agony, too weak even to press a button. Having dealt with this minor problem, the two King's Guard members unhesitatingly joined the other sisters in the battle, continuing the siege of Bucky Barnes.

Despite Steve Rogers' team's resistance, the King's Guard, with their numerical advantage, methodically retreated into the encirclement. Even though they had incapacitated some of the King's Guard, Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson still faced no fewer than three members of the King's Guard at a time, and they had to be constantly wary of vibranium spears that could pierce their bodies. Just as Bucky's head was covered in blood from a heavy blow from the spear's tail, and he was dizzy and on the verge of collapsing, the red and gold Iron Man forcefully smashed through the King's Guard's encirclement, delivering miniature missiles from his shoulder magazine into the King's Guard.

This time, the King's Guard, slightly calmer, pulled up the fabric straps on their shoulders, creating azure electromagnetic shields that deflected the flying metal fragments and concrete debris. Simultaneously, a dripping arrow pierced the rising smoke and struck T'Challa precisely in the chest and abdomen. The moment the arrow touched the Black Panther suit, it triggered a violent explosion, the powerful impact shoving him away from Steve Rogers' shield—the Avengers were now forced to temporarily unite against the Wakanda, as neither side could allow Bucky Barnes to be taken away by the Wakandas—seeing their future king falter, the King's Guard abandoned their encirclement of Bucky Barnes and immediately rushed out of the smoke to stand in front of T'Challa, separating him from the Avengers. Even if they couldn't join the future T'Challa's King's Guard, they absolutely could not allow their future king to be harmed; compared to avenging the previous king, they valued T'Challa's safety far more.

"Stop, T'Challa!" Looking at Scott Lang being dragged to the back by Natasha Romanoff, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes being moved aside by Falcon, the corpses of the fallen King's Guard, Clint Barton, the ever-vigilant "Hawkeye" with his arrows aimed at the Wakandans, and the wounded King's Guard lying on the ground bleeding profusely, Steve Rogers was both anxious and furious. "Enough blood has been shed today!" He lowered his scratched shield. "People have already died, what reason do we have to continue fighting?"

"The blood of the guilty has not yet been spilled." T'Challa stood up, his voice low and menacing. "You do not understand the resolve of the Wakanda, Steve Rogers. We are warriors, and we will die on the battlefields of the plains. If your friend has any honor left, let him fight me, not hide behind you like a coward!"
