Chapter 1100 Chapter 1096 The King and the Giant

Chapter 1100, Chapter 1096: The King and the Giant (Part 2) (Second Update)

"It won't be this time! And you've got the wrong enemy. Bucky isn't the one who killed your father!" Steve Rogers said. "That psychiatrist is. We're going to stop his plot right now!"

Just as Tony Stark was about to explain how to deal with Bucky Barnes, their attention was drawn to the sound of a truck engine in the distance. A military green truck had smashed through the airport perimeter fence and was hurtling towards them without any intention of slowing down. When it was still two hundred meters away, the driver, dressed in military uniform, jumped out of the driver's seat and ran away without looking back—before Tony Stark could figure out what was going on with the truck, which belonged to the US forces stationed in Germany, the tarpaulin covering the truck was cleanly and efficiently ripped off by a pair of giant green hands. The truck, which had been moving smoothly, suddenly lurched, as if it had gained a lot of mass out of thin air. The huge green body that suddenly appeared forcefully pushed aside the steel frame supporting the tarpaulin inside the military truck, its unnaturally grown muscles frantically tearing at the metal supports around it. A familiar roar drowned out the noise of the damaged engine, but this time the roar was tinged with pain and madness.

"Shit! That's Banner!" Tony Stark used the features in his helmet to get a clear look at the details. He opened the military communications channel and angrily cursed, "Ross, what the hell is going on! You bastard, what did you do to Banner?!"

All he knew was that Bruce Banner had left the Avengers base under the pretext of visiting his girlfriend. During this time, he maintained constant contact with Bruce Banner, continuing their academic exchanges over the phone. Tony Stark couldn't believe that the raging Hulk roaring at them was the same Bruce Banner who could control the Hulk's temper and complete the Veronica Combat System test. Tony Stark was certain that Bruce Banner was the cargo Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes had seen on the plane; Ross must have done something to Banner to drive the normally calm Hulk into such a frenzy.

Tony Stark's questions went unanswered, and the communication channel with Secretary Ross fell completely silent, as if Ross had decided to resolve the issue his own way and abandon them entirely. With Hulk's charge, both the Avengers and the Wakanda had to temporarily set aside their conflict; even the vengeful T'Challa had to agree to let Bucky Barnes help evacuate the wounded King's Guard.

The enraged Hulk slammed straight into the cargo box blocking his path, the white metal container flying towards them like a light ball. Tony Stark was one of the few people present who could use his powers to withstand such an attack, so he activated his thrusters without hesitation and charged forward, smashing a human-shaped dent into the bent cargo box—though the movement was somewhat comical, Tony Stark at least changed the cargo box's trajectory. However, the Hulk seemed completely oblivious to him and continued charging forward, as if these people in his eyes were not his former friends but unknown enemies.

"Lullaby! Little Na, can you make Banner recover?" Steve Rogers, holding Scott Lang, whose arms were broken, huddled in the shadow of an airplane with the other wounded. He asked anxiously, "And do you know Hulk is in Germany?"

“Ross didn’t reveal anything.” Natasha Romanoff shook her head, looking dejected. “Dr. Banner isn’t acting right. I don’t think the lullaby will work.”

"The sedative gas won't work either." Hawkeye lowered his bow and arrows, taking out other special arrows from his quiver. He had just used a non-lethal sedative gas, but the compound evaporated at an alarming rate, making it unsuitable for use against multiple targets. Otherwise, he would have already fired an arrow at the King's Guard. Attacking Hulk's face with the non-lethal sedative gas only resulted in Hulk sneezing. If Tony Stark hadn't intervened in time, Hulk might have charged towards the area filled with wounded.

"We must leave as soon as possible and leave Banner here. We can only pray that he will stay put after losing his target; we don't have Thor to help suppress him now."

"I've already called in the aircraft," T'Challa suddenly said. He looked at Tony Stark, who was being tossed around by the Hulk's legs not far away, and said, "We can carry the wounded up there and then stay behind to fight the Hulk. We can't let this monster leave the airport under any circumstances; watching it slaughter innocent people is a crime in itself."

“Dr. Banner isn’t usually like this,” Natasha Romanoff argued. “Ross must have done something to him.”

"I don't care." T'Challa stepped forward, stopping the remaining members of the King's Guard who were still capable of fighting from following. He spoke in Wakanda, "Back off. You can't handle this. The vibranium suit protects me, but you can't. Besides, this isn't a fight for revenge for my father. This isn't your honor." He glanced at Bucky Barnes standing to the side, "Go and move the wounded and get out of here. You'll get your revenge in due time, but not now."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The temporary captain of the King's Guard said through gritted teeth, indignantly, "I will obey your orders and will not kill the murderer for the time being."

"There's a Quinjet parked over there!" Natasha Romanov said, pointing to the hangar not far away. "That Quinjet can transport the wounded."

"Very well, let's get started." T'Challa stepped out of the shadows. "We don't have much time. I can't hold off that giant for long. Hey, big guy, how about finding a suitable opponent?"

Hulk tossed aside the battered Tony Stark lying on the ground and unleashed a deafening roar at T'Challa, who was taunting him. However, before Hulk could take more than a few steps, a rapidly moving black shadow appeared out of nowhere.

It was a black-armored giant riding a heavy motorcycle, his jet-black armor adorned with brass and silver. He wielded a giant sword crackling with electricity, his cloak billowing in the wind like the black wings of death. The twin heavy explosive guns mounted on the front of the motorcycle, hurtling at high speed, suddenly opened fire, like a hellish beast spewing long bursts of flame. The supersonic explosive projectile struck Hulk precisely in the knee, the fission heat from the projectile burning through the outer skin. The secondary mass reaction fuse triggered a series of explosions, pulverizing the flesh below Hulk's left knee. Red blood and bits of flesh splattered everywhere, and Hulk, who had just started his sprint, crashed heavily to the ground.

The black motorcycle didn't slow down; instead, it accelerated towards Hulk, gliding past him like an ancient cavalryman, skillfully decelerating before turning and charging again towards the mad giant lying on the ground with a roar of its engine. Hulk, driven even more mad by the pain, swung his arms, trying to grab the machine that had hurt him, but the fired bullet shattered his outstretched hand towards the black-armored giant. The lightning-cracked greatsword, like a hurricane, burned the hard bone and muscle to atomic ash the moment its blade touched Hulk's right ankle, leaving him a writhing, throbbing mass of flesh on the ground.

After doing all this, the armored giant slowly stopped his massive motorcycle, slung his greatsword over his shoulder, and walked towards the berserk Hulk. The Hulk, who was a formidable opponent for the others, was like prey to him, the hunt so effortless that the others thought they had missed something. The black iron boots stopped in front of the roaring Hulk, and the iron-black skull beneath the hood looked down at the Hulk's rapidly healing and regenerating legs and arms. T'Challa recognized it as Latverian power armor; after all, its style was quite retro. But when he tried to ask why the armored giant had appeared, his question was ignored.

"Watch out!" T'Challa shouted a warning as he saw Hulk's uninjured hand swing towards the armored giant. However, the armored giant simply raised his hand, catching Hulk's outstretched hand with astonishing speed. Then, with a clean, decisive movement, the giant snapped Hulk's wrist, bent down, grabbed his hair, and slammed his armored fist down with tremendous force. Before anyone could react, the armored giant had unleashed over a dozen punches, each one like a small explosion, until a crater appeared in the airport's concrete floor, until the berserk Hulk stopped roaring and completely passed out. Only then did the armored giant methodically cease his attack.

"Where's Ross?" the black-armored giant asked in a deep voice to Tony Stark, who was limping over.

Tony Stark scrutinized the black-armored giant's attire. "You're from Latvia, aren't you? Why is your master involved in this?"

"answer the questions."

“I don’t know,” Tony Stark shrugged. He looked at the groaning wounded and corpses in the distance, thankful he hadn’t involved that Queens kid. “Our communication has been cut off. But I heard them on the military channel; US troops stationed in Germany are heading this way.” He pointed towards Highway 14. “Look, that’s their convoy. Ross should be there too. Hey, who are you? What are you doing here?”

The black-armored giant ignored him, instead getting on his motorcycle and drawing his giant sword from his back once more.

"Kill," he replied in a low voice. "Everyone."
