Chapter 1134 Cats and Women

Chapter 1134 Cats and Women (Second Update)

"Are you leaving now?" T'Challa asked. "Aren't you going to wait for Shuri to arrive?"

"While Wakanda is important to Latvinia, it's not so important to my wife and kids. I rarely stay out all night, you know? So the sooner this mess is cleaned up, the better. I even bought a huge black panther plush toy as a gift." The Latvinian emperor pulled a locator from a small leather pouch at his waist, pointing to the glowing dot on the small screen. "These are Shuri's coordinates. This will help your friend find her and my agents. I'll send you or her the bill after this, for the depletion of Latvinian personnel, ammunition, fuel, and spare parts. You have no idea how much it costs to transport tanks, armored vehicles, and soldiers halfway around the world. But these things can be replaced with designated high-tech products, or deducted from Shuri's salary in the research department, just like our past transactions."

The guest rooms in the Jabari tribe are far from luxurious; in order to uphold tradition, there are very few chairs. Even so, many jewels and precious metals, which are not rigorously polished, are still used as decorations in various utensils, showcasing the Jabari tribe's wealth with a unique artistic style.

The Jabari tribe wasn't opposed to upgrading their weaponry with high technology. In the past, the Golden Tribe had always secretly provided the Jabari with powerful individual weapons disguised as melee weapons. This cooperative relationship only officially ended yesterday, something T'Challa had been worried about. He didn't want the Jabari tribe to sever ties with the Golden Tribe because of the new king, En Jadaka, which would lead to their rapid demise. He knew he couldn't let his own actions damage the relationship between the Golden Tribe and the Jabari.

"I really hate it when you think and speak from the perspective of national interest. If you hadn't mentioned your wife and children, I would have thought you had no normal human emotions. But I can understand, a person's heart can't hold too much. When I criticize you for being too heartless, I have the same way of thinking myself." T'Challa said self-deprecatingly. "En Jadaka is right, we are all bound by fate, and all our decisions are based on our duties, not on ourselves."

"Because I'm responsible, and you're responsible too. This means we need to consider everyone's future instead of satisfying our own selfish desires. You'll have to face this day sooner or later. You're welcome; I'll help you get used to it as quickly as possible." Emperor Latvinia stood up. "See you next time... Oh!"

"What's wrong?"

Emperor Latvian narrowed his eyes, then sat down again. "There's some very interesting intelligence; I didn't expect Surrey to actually find evidence," he said. "Do you remember En Jadaka mentioning his father, En Job?"

"Being thrown off Warrior Falls did not affect my memory."

"At the time, En Job was tasked with tracking down lost vibranium, and to monitor him, Father sent another Wardog agent to infiltrate his inner circle." Princess Shuri didn't have time to brush the snow off her clothes and head, and neither did the Dora Mirajane members and Wardog agents behind her; everyone was covered in fine snowflakes. They were all wearing heavy winter gear, traveling in snowmobiles with the assistance of soldiers from the First Secret Regiment of Fimbulwinter, infiltrating the only area on the Wakanda border not protected by the border tribes—the Jabari tribe's own border near the foot of Mount Klanga. "The Wardogs have found evidence proving that En Job collaborated with vibranium trafficker Ulysses Klaue, committing the largest vibranium smuggling operation in Wakanda's history. A quarter of a ton of vibranium was stolen, and dozens of border tribes perished."

Shuri handed T'Challa a data panel, which, when opened, showed a video of someone recounting the events of that year. If En Jadaka were here, he would definitely recognize this neighbor uncle who had a good relationship with his family when he was a child, but this uncle had disappeared after his father's death.

"When our father confronted En-Job, he revealed his identity as an undercover agent. In order to save that agent, our father accidentally killed his own flesh and blood. Now we are sending that agent and written evidence from the War Dogs organization back to Wakanda from Oakland, USA. With his accusations, we can overturn the legitimacy of the succession struggle." Princess Shuri seemed very excited. "We can remove En-Jadaka from the throne and release Mother and the loyalists from prison."

T'Challa opened his mouth, but couldn't say anything.

He recalled his confiding in the Latvian Emperor just hours earlier, but he never imagined that only a few hours later he would have to make a decision between duty and personal life. T'Challa looked at Mbaku beside him. "Tell them the truth, my friend," he said. "Tell them my situation."

"Although he's been treated, he has multiple fractures and severe internal bleeding." M'Baku leaned on his warhammer, the head resting on the ground. Hearing this, Princess Shuri's excited expression vanished, and Nakia, a member of the War Dogs organization in the entourage, went over with a worried look to check T'Challa's injuries. T'Challa awkwardly greeted his on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend, then let her touch the still-bleeding bandages on his body. He had been speaking while enduring the pain, and this extremely torturous feeling had left him utterly exhausted.

M'Baku saw T'Challa's resilience. "The fact that he can remain conscious is a testament to the power of the Ghekre. He can't possibly fight another gladiatorial combat, and even standing up and walking will be a problem. T'Challa, my friend, don't worry too much. My warhammer and I will fight for you, and the Jabari tribe will fight for you."

“We have something better.” Princess Shuri gestured to the soldiers and warhound agents of the First Secret Regiment during Fimbulwinter, then they went out of the room and unloaded a box from the snowmobile rack outside. “Zuri prepared a heart-shaped herb for your coronation ceremony,” she said. “Legend has it that Klangga, severely wounded, took the heart-shaped herb and was healed by the Black Panther God. Although we haven’t figured out how the active ingredients in the heart-shaped herb work, I believe it has the ability to strengthen the metabolic and immune systems, and it can help you get back on your feet.”

"Just because of a legend?" Nakia stood up to object. "What if the heart-shaped herb kills him?"

T'Challa looked down at the video with a complicated expression. "I..." he hesitated for a moment, "Let me think about it."

"Did you know, En Jadaka didn't actually burn all the Heart-Shaped Grass? My High Priest still preserves the cultivation sites for it." Bastet strolled behind the glass wall of reality, dressed exactly as before. She moved like a feline, her sexy and agile body moving silently. She glanced at the tall figure beside her with her upturned eyes. "I want Surrey to take the Heart-Shaped Grass too. She also has Klang blood flowing through her veins; she has the talent."

"I have already paid the bill to bring about this situation. Soon my army will attack Hannburg, and my warriors will act according to my will. The consumption of the Heart-Shaped Herb by Shuri is not within the scope of our contract." The Emperor of Latvinia walked past Shuri, but neither M'Baku, T'Challa, nor Shuri knew this. "You want to cultivate a shaman with powerful spiritual abilities; it's a gamble, and you've placed your bet. En Jadaka and T'Challa will both be tested. I will not persuade Shuri to consume the Heart-Shaped Herb, because I do not know what kind of turmoil Wakanda will face, or what price my warriors will have to pay for Shuri to make this choice."

"Felines are fickle, and so are women," Bastet stretched, her jewels jingling. While it was foolish to be covered only by jewelry in this freezing weather, Bastet remained unfazed. "I am a cat, and a woman," she said with a smile. "I can offer you a small bribe, just like that night. You're adept at intrigue and manipulation; I can't find anyone better suited to lead the situation. What do you say, agree?"
